Chapter 54 - Chapter 54: Reversal

---

[The escaped children were soon found by a patrol car and rescued.]

["Rin?"]

[Once Kotone fully came to her senses, she looked around to find Tohsaka Rin, but Rin had already quietly slipped away.]

["Thank goodness... let's go home."]

[Seeing her friend safe, Rin felt an immense wave of exhaustion wash over her. She forced herself to walk to the nearest station, determined to get home quickly so her mother wouldn't worry.]

"I did it, Father."

[As Rin lifted her magic compass, she noticed it was flashing a warning signal again.]

["What now?"]

[Rin turned her head just in time to see a monstrous sea creature fall from the sky, claws outstretched toward her.]

[Rin was gripped with fear and found herself paralyzed on the spot.]

"This…"

Rin was startled. She hadn't expected another threat to appear so suddenly. Was there no way to escape Bluebeard's grasp after all?

---

"Rin!"

Tohsaka Tokiomi's face tightened with worry as he watched the scene.

---

[At that moment, something unexpected happened.]

[Rin heard a strange rustling sound and, looking back, saw a swarm of insects flying past her.]

[Drained of her magic and strength and mentally exhausted, Rin finally reached her limit and collapsed, unconscious.]

---

"Insect magic… Is it that man?"

Tohsaka Tokiomi looked toward Matou Kariya, who stood nearby.

Kariya scoffed, glancing back at Tokiomi with an intense look. He couldn't trust Tokiomi, and in the end, he'd had to rely on himself.

---

[Meanwhile, Aoi Tohsaka, having discovered her daughter's disappearance, drove back to Fuyuki City.]

["Rin!"]

[After searching frantically, Aoi finally found Rin asleep on a park bench.]

["She's alright, just resting."]

[A familiar voice came from under a nearby street lamp. It was Matou Kariya.]

["Kariya… your face!"]

[Aoi's eyes widened in shock as she took in the grotesque blue veins spread across Kariya's face.]

["This is the price of the Matou family's magic," he replied quietly. "It devours the body… and life itself."]

[Kariya continued, voice steady, "But don't worry. I'll get Sakura back before this magic consumes me."]

["Zouken only wants the Grail. Hand it over, and Sakura will be safe."]

["You have my word, my Servant is the strongest there is."]

---

"Pfft, 'the strongest,' you say?"

Gilgamesh's voice dripped with contempt. "Are we supposed to believe that mongrel Berserker can actually compete?"

Artoria glared at him. "Watch your words, Gilgamesh. That kind of mockery is hardly noble."

Lancelot interjected calmly, "There's no need to let it trouble you, my king."

---

["Please pray for me, Aoi. I'll make sure Sakura and Rin can play together again in this park, as they should."]

[After ensuring that Rin was safe, Kariya turned and left without another word.]

---

Watching the scene, Tokiomi felt a surge of unease. Why should Kariya, of all people, be the one she prayed for? It was a reminder of his own mistakes. He hadn't realized the true nature of Matou Zouken before sending Sakura away.

---

["Master, would you like me to keep watch on Tohsaka Tokiomi's family?"]

[From a tree above the park, one of the Hassan Assassins whispered to Kotomine Kirei, awaiting his response.]

["No, just keep observing Berserker," Kirei replied coldly.]

[The video ended.]

---

"Hmm?"

Tohsaka Tokiomi looked at Kotomine Kirei, suspicion clouding his gaze. The video made it clear that Kirei had no intention of informing him about his wife and daughter's return to Fuyuki.

"Your wife is a wise woman. I'm sure she'll leave Fuyuki as soon as she can."

Kirei's face remained impassive as he answered Tokiomi's unspoken question.

"See that it doesn't happen again," Tokiomi said with restrained irritation. While unsettled, he decided not to pursue the matter further, reasoning that the events in the video hadn't actually occurred.

---

[Answer: C]

[Congratulations to Chihiro, Artoria, Matou Kariya, Tohsaka Rin, Tohsaka Sakura, Irisviel, Zhang Jiao, Red Hare, and Goddess Venus for earning 5 Saint Quartz each.]

[Bluebeard abstained from answering.]

[The remaining members answered incorrectly, losing 1 Saint Quartz.]

---

Sola-Ui cast a glare at Kayneth, clearly wanting an explanation.

Kayneth looked uneasy, realizing he hadn't expected this question to take such an unpredictable turn.

Nearby, Waver and others looked equally annoyed, having fallen into the same trap.

Kiritsugu, however, remained composed. He'd wisely instructed his team to split their answers between B, C, and D, resulting in at least one correct answer.

---

[The second question is over. Now, moving on to the final question of the day.]

[This is a multiple-choice question. Take a look at the following images and select the individual most closely related to the King of Conquerors.]

Iskandar chuckled. "Well now, it seems today's final question revolves around yours truly."

"Here we go again," Kayneth muttered, visibly tired of the guessing game.

"This question seems awfully favorable for Team Rider," commented Rin.

Chihiro gave a light shrug. "Looks like the Conqueror is set to win today, regardless."

Iskandar laughed heartily. "Thank you for the encouragement, friend!"

---

[A: The image shows a lean, red-haired boy with a strikingly handsome face.]

Chihiro sighed. It seemed winning first place today was out of reach.

Iskandar, having learned from past blunders, refrained from saying too much and instead leaned over to whisper a few words to Waver, who looked surprised and skeptical after hearing them.
