The beady eyes of the humanoid stared back down at him; even as the spear shredded it internally, thieving its life, it did not allow a single sound to exit its mouth. It wasn't as though it felt lacking in sentience, nor deprived of emotion; those jeweled eyes screamed silently.
He was plucked from his distracting thoughts as he pulled his spear away, finding the giant's body collapsing towards him. A quick backstep brought him free of its slumped corpse, not wanting to be caught in the blanket of titanus flesh.
"Whew," an exhale left his lips, looking at the fallen colossus before him.
As he regained his breath, a peculiar discovery met his
ears, or perhaps the lack of one: the noise of warfare in the chasm had perished.
"--Huh?"
Darkness; more than there already was in the once briefly illuminated layer. It was abundantly filled with shadows, more so than even the darkest night; the sight of his comrades was gone completely.
