It wasn't so simple to catch the one of fleeting physicality, though, as Rudiger's body constantly shifted, sometimes becoming a puddle of flesh that swam across the ground, avoiding the ensnaring chains.
"Over here!" The taunt spilled from Rudiger.
Bastian whipped around, though his chains moved first, grabbing hold of each limb belonging to the one of abandoned humanity.
For just a second, victory was graped–
"Almost!" Another taunt came.
Like a lizard releasing its tail, the monstrous figure allowed his hands and feet to simply "pop" off of his limbs, exiting the hold of the chains before sprouting new pairs of his body parts. Amidst his evasion maneuvers, the one of fleeting appearance retaliated as claws erupted from the flesh-blanketed ground, swiping at the adventurer.
