"Mum, what's it? Whose picture is that?" Ji Ho asked, noticing how frightful her mum looked, her eyes fixed on the picture with a mixture of shock and horror.
"Where did you get the picture from?" Ji Ho pressed on, her curiosity piqued.
"I don't know. It just dropped from my bag. Honestly, I don't know how it got there," Myung Hee replied, trying to sound nonchalant despite the growing unease in her voice.
"Who's that woman?" Ji Ho tried to collect the picture, but Myung Hee quickly retracted her hands, her eyes flashing with a warning.
"I'll be back shortly," Myung Hee said hastily, her voice trembling with emotion. She turned and rushed out of the house, leaving Ji Ho staring after her in confusion.
The sound of Myung Hee's car leaving the compound was the only response Ji Ho got. She looked stupefied, her eyes wide with shock, before her gaze fell on the spilled poison on the floor. Her anger aggravated, her face contorting in rage.
