Within the blink of an eye, he vanished, leaving Min Ju crumpled on the cold, damp ground.
The alley was dimly lit, the only sound the distant hum of the city. People gathered around her, their faces etched with concern. "Is she dead?" someone whispered, their voice trembling.
Min Ju's body lay motionless, her chest still, her eyes closed. The crowd held its collective breath, waiting for any sign of life.
Just as they were about to give up hope, and take her to the hospital, Min Ju's eyes flickered open.
Her throat was dry, her head pounding. She struggled to sit up, her vision blurry. The crowd gasped in unison, their faces filled with relief.
"She's awake," someone exclaimed.
Min Ju's gaze swept the crowd, confusion etched on her face. Why was she on the floor? What happened? The last thing she remembered was someone's hands wrapped around her throat, squeezing the life out of her.
