"Goodbye Dad," Ji Ho smiled, hugging Seung-ho. "Bye Sweetheart" he said, looking at the stairs for the sight of Min Ju. "
She's supposed to be down by now. I hope she's okay" he thought and was just about to leave for work when Min Ju's voice stopped him.
"Don't you want to give me a hug too, father" she said as she walked down the stairs.
Ji Ho turned to look at her and she opened her mouth in awe.
Min Ju was dressed in a fitted casual gown that accentuated her perfect curves.
It was slitted, showing her toned legs.
Her long hair danced, its tip reaching her waist.
Ji Ho frowned when she saw how fancy she dressed. She had never seen Min Ju dress this stunning.
She isn't even putting on her glasses.
"Wow, sis, you look so different."
"How do I look different?" Min Ju arched her brows.
"What's wrong with her this morning?" Ji Ho scoffed inwardly.
"And isn't that my lovely princess" Seung-ho said, giving her a hug.
"You look beautiful dear. I have to go now. See you guys later.
Honey! I'm leaving" he called to Myung Hee who was in the kitchen.
She quickly came out to give him a kiss.
"Bye darling," She said, and he left. Once he leaves like that, it usually takes him a week or more to come back home.
Min Ju hands balled into a fist, her nails digging into her palm, anger burning in her as she stared at the two people she hated most.
She controlled herself, trying not to explode in anger.
"You look beautiful, sis. When did you buy this dress?" Ji Ho asked, smiling and Min Ju almost scoffed.
She had always been fooled by that smile that looked so innocent.
Now, that smile irks her more than anything else
"Can you gift me the dress? I really love it" She added.
She had always asked for Min Ju clothes if she liked it and the latter never hesitates to give her.
"If you like it that much, you can buy yours" Min Ju said and Ji Ho frowned.
She wasn't expecting that reply at all. Min Ju would have smiled and either give her the dress or promise to get one similar to it but she did none of that.
Instead, all Ji Ho could feel was the cold aura she was emanating.
"Go get rid of that dress. You have some work to help me to do" Myung Hee said authoritatively and Min Ju grimaced.
How bad she wanted to give them a double dose of what they had done to her.
Myung Hee have always hated her. She only acts nice when Seung-ho is around.
But as for Ji Ho, that sly fox. Always acting cute and innocent, whereas, she was the greatest devil.
"You can get the maids to do whatever work you want. As for me, I'm very busy" she replied and Myung Hee frowned.
"I should get the maids? Are you nuts? I asked you to work for me and you are telling me you are busy"
"Can you listen to yourself? Do I look like a maid to you? I'm really trying to keep my cool. Don't test my patience" Min Ju hissed and walked out.
Myung Hee batted her lids in shock.
"Did Min Ju just walk out on me?" she asked, surprised to the core. Min Ju had never for once argued or talked back at her.
No matter how badly she treats her, she had never complained.
What's gotten into her?
"She's acting strange. I have never seen her dress or talk that way. It just seemed like she changed overnight" Ji Ho scoffed.
*
Min Ju took a deep breath as the fresh breeze hit her face.
"They are going to regret they were ever born" she muttered, gritting her teeth.
Her phone rang and she checked it. Her face changed when she saw the caller ID. "The love of my life". That was what she had used to save his name.
"This bastard!" she cursed, shaking with fury.
She picked the call and placed it by her ear.
"Hi baby! How are you doing" Tae Hoon's voice boomed from the phone and Min Ju closed her eyes, restraining the urge to smash the phone to the ground.
"Hi Tae Hoon" she forced herself to say. His name sounded so disgusting to her.
"Are you okay?" Tae Hoon asked, noticing the change from her usual bubbly voice.
"I'm fine" she answered monotonously.
"Okay. That's good. I wanted to remind you of the money you promised to send me. I need it badly" she heard him say and she scoffed.
She had really been a fool all along. This was how he was.
Always asking money from her, milking off her and yet she was too blinded with her love for him.
"Hello...are you there?" Tae Hoon asked but yet no reply came.
"Baby?" he called again but Min Ju ended the call, unable to take it any longer.
"Can't believe I was so senseless".
She was still walking, without any destination in mind, ignoring the eyes of men that gawked at her body.
She got to a building, and rested her back on it, allowing the cool breeze to play with her hair.
"You look so handsome, date me please. I would do anything." she heard someone say, at the other side of the building and she frowned.
"Whoever that girl is, she is stupid" she scoffed inwardly, curiosity getting the better of her and she walked towards the voice, making sure she couldn't be seen by whoever was talking.
She peeked and saw a girl talking to a man.
"So, this is the girl begging to date a man" she sighed, shaking her head.
She peeked again to check out the man she was so eager to date.
"I'm sure it's a silly asshole" she muttered and peeked, but her eyes went widely opened, her mouth parted slightly as she saw the man that the girl was talking too.
"Holy Heavens!" she gasped.
The man stood tall, his broad shoulders and chiseled physique evident even under his tailored suit.
His piercing gray eyes seemed to bore into the girl's soul, his expression cold and unyielding.
Min Ju's gaze roamed over his features, drinking in the perfection.
His strong jawline, sharp cheekbones, and nose were proportioned to create a masterpiece.
His raven-black hair was styled impeccably, framing his face. His full lips were set in a firm line, giving away nothing.
The girl's flirtatious smile faltered under his icy stare. "Leave" he said to the girl, his deep voice devoid of emotion.
"What?" the girl asked, her smile faltering.
"I don't repeat myself twice. If you don't leave now, you won't like yourself in the next two minutes.
Those friends of yours pushing you to me..." he said, his eyes lurking with some girls in the corner, who hurriedly scurried away.
"They are pushing you to your doom. So leave now.... before I lose my patience" he added, his gray eyes, flashing with disdain.
Min Ju felt a shiver run down her spine. Who was this man, and why did his cold demeanor draw her in?
The girl 's face paled and she turned away immediately. The man's gaze swept the area, his eyes locking onto Min Ju's for a fleeting moment.
Their eyes met, and Min Ju's heart skipped a beat. Those gray eyes seemed to see right through her, to the depths of her very soul.
Then he turned away, disappearing into the crowd.
Min Ju's senses returned, and she felt a pang of disappointment. Why had she expected him to react differently?
She shook her head, chiding herself for being drawn to another handsome face. Hadn't she learned her lesson with Tae Hoon?
Yet, the memory of those piercing gray eyes lingered.
