"If you don't want to be beaten by a dog, I would suggest you leave me alone."
"And what if I don't?" the man grinned.
Eira grabbed an empty glass. "This will collide with your brain."
The man stepped back, putting his hands up. "I'm sorry. I don't want any problems."
"I thought so."
Sana and Eira grabbed their drinks and went back to the dance floor.
She swayed slightly as the bass-heavy music thumped around her, the club lights casted a kaleidoscope of colors on her flushed face.
Eira's first drink had been sweet and light, just as Sana promised.
But then there was another. And another…
The sharp, fizzy sensation on her tongue was addictive, and the warmth that spread through her chest made her feel fearless, even free.
"See? Isn't this better?" Sana said, leaning close so Eira could hear her over the noise.
Eira nodded, her steps felt slightly looser now.
