Chapter 93: Vanesa's Rejection
Eira stepped out of her lecture hall, full of thoughts of the situation surrounding Henry and Marion's suspicious death.
Her heart still felt heavy, but she refused to let it weigh her down.
Not today.
She adjusted the strap of her bag and scanned the courtyard, her eyes searched for familiarity.
Then, she saw William.
He stood near the old oak tree, looking relaxed but alert to the surroundings, his hands shoved into the pockets of his leather jacket.
Eira's pace quickened, almost breaking into a run as she made her way to him.
"William!" she called, relief washed over her.
He glanced up but didn't move.
He was calm, unreadable, and as she approached, he tilted his head slightly.
"Where have you been?" Eira demanded, stopping just in front of him. "I've been trying to reach you for days!"
