Chapter 50: Is Callian Cheating On Me?
Eira leaned against the kitchen counter, holding her phone close as Aunt Marion's voice came through, sounding lively.
"Eira, something happened after you left," Marion said. "When they came back to the church to bury him, they discovered someone had… marked the body. And now, more people are stepping forward, sharing stories about what he did."
Eira's face softened. "It's good they're finally speaking up. He hurt too many people."
Marion sighed. "I think it'll bring a lot of relief to those who suffered. I just thought you'd want to know."
"Thank you, Aunt Marion," Eira said, and after saying goodbye, she hung up, feeling lighter.
She turned to find Callian sitting on the couch, his attention locked on some papers.
"What's got you so focused?" she asked, curious.
He looked up, eyebrows raised. "Are you heading to the university today?"
Eira nodded. "Yes, I was just about to leave."
