Chapter 107: Elias, The Shadows of the Past
Elias stepped into his car, the engine turned to life as he adjusted his seat.
The city lights blurred past as the vehicle sped through the streets, leaving behind the tension-filled meeting with Callian.
His phone buzzed in the cupholder.
Without glancing at it, he pressed a button on the dashboard, connecting the call.
"Did he bite?" William's voice came through, smooth but clipped.
Elias smirked faintly, though there was no humor in it. "He didn't need to. Callian Reed is already tangled up in his own shit. I simply reminded him I'm watching."
"Careful, Elias," William warned. "He's not someone you want as an enemy."
"And neither am I," Elias replied coolly.
The car slowed as it approached the gates of an expansive estate.
A guard waved him through, and the heavy iron gates creaked open, revealing a long driveway flanked by manicured gardens and tall, shadowy trees.
