Amidst the cheers of countless spectators, the 22nd Martial Arts Tournament came to a successful end. Tien narrowly defeated Yamcha, ultimately claiming the championship.
In terms of sheer strength, Yamcha isn't actually weaker than Tien. However, real combat involves many complex factors, and Yamcha was simply unlucky this time, slipping up and missing his chance at the championship.
Although he felt some regret, the battle fostered a mutual respect between Yamcha and Tien, resulting in a budding friendship.
After the tournament ended, Yuujin met with Yamcha, Tien, Krillin, and Chiaotzu in the VIP room.
"Lord Yuujin."
"Yamcha, Krillin, Tien, Chiaotzu—you all did well."
The group greeted Yuujin, and he offered them sincere praise.
In truth, Yamcha and Tien only have a battle power of one to two hundred points at this stage. Any one of Yuujin's Red Silk Girls could easily defeat them, but the two simply aren't comparable.
Each of Yuujin's Battle Maidens was trained with immense resources and harsh methods. However, Yamcha and Tien have advanced through steady training. Though their progress seems slow, they've built a solid foundation and could reach even greater heights in the future.
After all, the Red Silk Girls were merely tools and subordinates Yuujin created, but Yamcha and Tien are individuals he hopes can become Earth's martial arts representatives.
"Master Roshi, my disciple Tien won the championship this time. Clearly, my Crane School is superior to your Turtle School."
"Ohhhh…"
The Crane Hermit's voice echoed, laughing boastfully from the side.
"Hmph, Yamcha was just careless this time," Master Roshi retorted, blowing his beard in defiance. "Next time, it'll definitely be a Turtle School disciple who wins!"
Master Roshi and the Crane Hermit have been rivals since their youth, always glaring at each other, just shy of physically sparring.
Yuujin couldn't help but chuckle at this, then turned to Yamcha and the others with a suggestion.
"Yamcha, Krillin, you've learned everything you can from Master Roshi. Now it's time for you to go up to Korin Tower and seek training from Master Korin himself."
He turned to Tien and Chiaotzu, "You two should go as well."
Excitement flickered on Yamcha and Krillin's faces at the thought of advancing to the next level, though Tien and Chiaotzu looked a bit hesitant.
"Lord Yuujin, if we leave for training, what about our work...?"
It's worth mentioning here that Tien, Chiaotzu, and even the Crane Hermit are all currently employees of Dragon Ball Corporation, working on payroll.
This arrangement originally stemmed from Mercenary Tao's situation. He had once been hired by the Red Ribbon Army to kidnap Yuujin, but ended up as Head of Security for Dragon Ball Corporation.
Although Tao mainly guarded the premises, Yuujin also sent him on certain "under-the-radar" tasks when needed. To Tao's surprise, he found the job remarkably similar to his former work, and Yuujin, as his boss, was generous with rewards. The payouts from his security missions often surpassed what he'd earned as an assassin.
Pleased with the arrangement, Tao decided to introduce his older brother, the Crane Hermit, to Yuujin. Initially, the Crane Hermit was furious at Tao for betraying him to a Turtle School disciple. However, after Yuujin demonstrated a fraction of his power, the Crane Hermit quickly backed down.
Though he detested Turtle School people, the Crane Hermit was no fool. Living for hundreds of years had taught him a few things. What was life about—money, status, power, or strength?
Since this powerful young man, Yuujin, was both wealthy and strong, why not follow him?
And so, in a blend of half-coercion and half-willingness, the Crane Hermit joined Dragon Ball Corporation, assisting Tao in handling sensitive company matters. Naturally, his disciples, Tien and Chiaotzu, joined him.
"Tien, leave work to your teacher, the Crane Hermit. You and Chiaotzu are talented. Don't waste your potential on trivial matters."
"Follow Yamcha and the others to Korin Tower for training. I hope you all will become Earth's great martial artists."
Yuujin patted Tien on the shoulder, his expression serious. Tien, who had witnessed Yuujin's formidable strength, looked up at the man in awe. The fact that Yuujin believed in him so much moved Tien deeply.
"Yes, Lord Yuujin. I won't let you down!"
Standing tall, Tien didn't hesitate any longer.
Yuujin was about to continue speaking when Mai entered the room with two Red Silk Girls.
"Master, we've just received information…"
Mai whispered into Yuujin's ear, and a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes.
"Mai, since they're your old acquaintances, I'll leave this matter to you."
"Proceed as planned. You know what to do, right?"
"Yes, Master."
With a playful smile, Yuujin watched as Mai, flanked by the two Battle Maidens, left the room.
"Yuujin, is something wrong? Do you need our help?" Master Roshi asked from the side.
"No need to worry, Master Roshi; it's just a company matter."
"Oh, and since the tournament is over, why don't you stay a little longer? I've got some free time, so we could all go for a vacation on one of the islands developed by the company."
"A vacation, huh…"
Master Roshi seemed hesitant.
"Master Roshi, there are plenty of beautiful women on the island," Yuujin added with a knowing smile.
"Cough, cough! Well, since you insist, Yuujin, we might as well enjoy a vacation first," Master Roshi said, his expression immediately changing.
