Chapter 86 - The Trial of the King Kai

"Although I already possess considerable power, it doesn't mean I no longer need to train."

"On the contrary, the stronger the power, the more one needs to learn to use and control it correctly. Otherwise, even the greatest strength is nothing more than brute force. That's why I wish to seek guidance from you, King Kai, on how to wield my power."

With a serious expression, Yuujin repeated to the King of The Worlds what he had once said to Master Korin.

While his true goal was to learn the Kaio-ken and Spirit Bomb, Yuujin wasn't foolish enough to say it outright. The King Kai hadn't yet taught these techniques to anyone, and no one else knew of them. If Yuujin foolishly mentioned them now, it would not only fail to achieve his goal but might even arouse the King's suspicion.

The King Kai had no idea about Yuujin's hidden thoughts, but after hearing his words, he gave him a closer look.

"Not bad, kid. You actually understand these principles."

"If that's the case, I suppose I can guide your training."

"But first, you need to pass my trial."

With his hands behind his back, the King Kai spoke.

"Please tell us, King Kai."

"First, tell me a few jokes. If you can't make me laugh, you can leave."

Hearing this so-called trial, Yuujin was a bit speechless but not entirely surprised. This King Kai enjoyed amusing himself with jokes all day, especially cold jokes. Knowing his personality, Yuujin had prepared in advance.

"Alright!"

A few minutes later—

"Hahaha! Hahaha!"

"Kid, you truly have a talent for telling jokes. Forget martial arts, you should become my apprentice in comedy!"

"Hahaha!"

The King Kai was rolling on the ground, pounding it as tears of laughter streamed from his eyes.

Yuujin had merely told a few cold jokes he'd heard on Earth, yet it left the King Kai in such a state. It was surprising how low his sense of humor was—Yuujin wasn't even sure what he found so funny.

"Why aren't any of you laughing? If you lack a sense of humor, I won't guide your training."

Noticing the others were unresponsive, the King Kai abruptly stopped laughing and looked at Yuujin and the others expressionlessly.

"Haha..."

"So funny! So funny!"

"My stomach hurts! My stomach hurts!"

Yuujin, Goku, and Chi-Chi all burst into exaggerated laughter, clutching their stomachs. Even Bubbles and Gregory started hopping around as if they were about to die from laughter.

What choice did they have? The world is a cruel place—without the same sense of humor as the King Kai, they couldn't even qualify as his pets or servants on this planet.

Seeing their reaction, the King Kai finally looked satisfied.

"Now that's more like it. Jokes are justice, humor is justice. Without humor, what future can you have?"

"King Kai, have we passed your trial?"

Feeling that they had laughed enough, Yuujin asked.

"Yes, you passed."

"But don't rush the training. First, you need to adapt to the gravity here, which is ten times that of Earth."

"Bubbles and Gregory will keep you company. Once you manage to catch them, I'll guide your training."

"Alright... that's enough for now. I'm a bit sleepy, going to take a nap."

Yawning, the King Kai turned to head back to his house.

But before he could take more than a few steps, Yuujin suddenly appeared in front of him, holding Bubbles and Gregory in his hands.

"King Kai, I've already caught Bubbles and Gregory. Can you guide my training now?"

Bubbles and Gregory were still in shock, while Yuujin looked expectant.

The King Kai twitched his mouth and looked at Yuujin with a blank expression—

"Kid, do you not understand the atmosphere at all?"

"I'm going to take a nap now. I have no mood to guide you. I'll help you with your training when I feel like it. Any more questions?"

"No, you decide."

Realizing he was being a bit too hasty, Yuujin shrugged and stepped aside.

In the following days, Yuujin, Goku, and Chi-Chi stayed on the King Kai' planet. Although the gravitational environment was ten times that of Earth, Yuujin and Goku had experienced even heavier gravity during their previous training in the universe. It was hardly a challenge for them.

Chi-Chi struggled at first but, within a few days, the young girl who initially found it difficult even to walk was able to run around the planet chasing Bubbles and Gregory all day.

True to his word, the King Kai began officially training them once Goku and Chi-Chi could easily catch Bubbles and Gregory.

Although his own combat strength was not extraordinarily high, and there were many beings in the universe stronger than him, the King Kai had existed for countless years as a god. He possessed immense experience and profound insight into martial arts. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to create the Kaio-ken and Spirit Bomb, such legendary techniques.

Under the King Kai' guidance, Yuujin, Goku, and Chi-Chi underwent daily training and practices that ordinary people could scarcely imagine. It felt like a return to the days spent training with Master Roshi and on the Korin Tower. Though each day was grueling, it was incredibly fulfilling.

Time passed like water. Several months later—

Bam! Bam! Bam!

"Ya-ya-ya-ya!"

On the King Kai' planet, Yuujin, Goku, and Chi-Chi were locked in fierce combat.

Goku and Chi-Chi were attacking Yuujin together, coordinating seamlessly. Their small fists packed great power as they continuously searched for openings, striking at Yuujin's blind spots.

Although Yuujin was handling both Goku and Chi-Chi at the same time, he seemed completely at ease, skillfully blocking, dodging, and countering their moves. The battle remained at a stalemate.

Watching the fight from the sidelines, the King Kai occasionally showed a look of astonishment. Even he had to admit that Yuujin, Goku, and Chi-Chi had great talent in martial arts. The potential of the Saiyan duo, Yuujin and Goku, was particularly astonishing.

In fact, over the past few months, the King Kai had only taught them the basics, refraining from sharing any of his martial arts or special techniques.

Though he might appear to be a carefree comedian, as a god who had ruled the Northern Galaxy for countless years, the King Kai was far from simple.

Throughout the past months, he had been secretly observing Yuujin and the others. So far, they were still in the trial phase.

After months of observation, he had a fairly good understanding of the three.

Goku and Chi-Chi were simple-minded girls with great potential and talent, worth cultivating.

As for Yuujin, the King Kai noticed his significant ambition and some darkness within him. Yet, that was understandable. He was human, not a god or saint. Though ambitious and imperfect, Yuujin had principles and wasn't the type to achieve his goals by any means necessary.

This reassured the King Kai; he had no desire to teach his techniques to someone who might use them for evil.

For now, it seemed that the three had passed his trial, and it was about time to teach them something truly valuable.

With their talents and capabilities, there was a chance they could indeed master his two great techniques!

Just as these thoughts crossed the King Kai' mind, the battle between Yuujin, Goku, and Chi-Chi reached its most intense phase in the distance…
