Chapter 75 - Esenji (Part 1)

"Goku, let's head down below."

Having made up his mind, Yuujin spoke.

"Why go down there? Isn't it hell?"

With her head tilted in confusion, Goku looked puzzled.

"Down there is a special kind of fruit that's not only delicious but also boosts our strength after we eat it. We can go see King Kai after we try it."

"Delicious fruit? Sounds great!"

Yuujin briefly explained to Goku, and as soon as she heard there was tasty food, her eyes lit up with excitement, her mouth watering with anticipation.

As for hell itself, Goku wasn't concerned at all. As long as she was with Yuujin, she didn't care where they went.

"Alright, let's go down now."

With a slight smile, Yuujin held onto Chi Chi, and together with Goku, they gently descended through the clouds into the depths of hell.

It was like entering an entirely different world. The scenery in hell was nothing like the pathway above, filled with thorny hills and blood pools, creating a true hellish landscape.

"Ugh…"

"Yuujin, Goku, are we there yet?"

Rubbing her sleepy eyes, Chi Chi, who had just woken up, asked drowsily.

Seeing Chi Chi's adorable face, a slight smile spread across Yuujin's face.

Since she couldn't yet perform the [Sky Dancing Art], Yuujin had been carrying Chi Chi while flying. Initially, this little girl was quite enthusiastic, but the monotonous view along the Snake Path soon bored her, so she spent most of the journey sleeping soundly on Yuujin's back.

"We haven't reached King Kai's place yet. This is hell."

Yuujin gave Chi Chi a brief explanation, and upon hearing about the delicious fruit below that could boost her strength, Chi Chi instantly became excited.

"I want some too! I want some too!"

"Don't worry; there's plenty for everyone."

"But where is this so-called Peach? There's nothing around here."

Goku and Chi Chi looked around, but aside from thorny hills and blood pools, there was nothing in sight.

Yuujin wasn't sure about the exact location of the Yemma Tree either. Hell was vast, and finding it aimlessly could take forever. It would be nice to ask someone for directions.

As he thought that, a voice called out from behind them—

"Who are you, and why are you here?!"

Turning around, Yuujin, Goku, and Chi Chi saw a small demon with two pairs of sharp horns glaring at them in confusion.

Just when they needed someone to ask! Exchanging glances, Yuujin, Goku, and Chi Chi each grinned broadly...

A few hours later—

"Yuujin, Chi Chi, look, over there!"

Pointing excitedly at a distant tree heavy with fruit, Goku jumped up and down with joy.

Yuujin couldn't help but smile, feeling a surge of excitement.

A few hours earlier, Yuujin, Goku, and Chi Chi had caught that little demon and pressed him for the location of the Yemma Tree. Though he was stubborn at first, a few punches from Yuujin had him spilling everything like a bamboo tube pouring out beans.

Hell's peaches, just one could boost their strength—who wouldn't want such a treasure?

However, as Yuujin, Goku, and Chi Chi approached to pick the fruits, two figures suddenly appeared and blocked their way.

"Who are you?"

"How dare you try to steal the Esenji! You've got some nerve!"

Each wielding a club resembling a spiked mace, the two figures glared at Yuujin and his friends.

These two were, of course, demons of hell. One had a burly build with blue skin and a single horn on his head, while the other was red-skinned with two horns.

Seeing their fierce expressions, Goku and Chi Chi quickly took up fighting stances. Yuujin, however, only smiled slightly.

"So, you're the Blue Demon and the Red Demon?"

"Who are you, and how do you know our names?"

Hearing Yuujin call out their names, the two demons looked stunned.

"That's not important."

"Brother Blue Demon, Brother Red Demon, we're a bit hungry. Could you let us pick a few fruits?"

Yuujin shook his head lightly, then asked politely.

However, upon hearing his request, the two demons grew furious.

"Insolence!"

"These are rare fruits that only King Yemma can consume! They're not for just anyone!"

"You're all still alive—why are you even here?"

The Blue Demon and Red Demon flatly refused, then scrutinized the trio suspiciously.

"So, that's how it is…"

Rubbing his forehead, Yuujin appeared a bit disappointed, then his eyes sharpened.

"Goku, take care of them!"

"Hehe, leave it to me!"

Cracking her knuckles, Goku stepped forward, causing the two demons to laugh in anger.

"Bold kids, not only trying to steal King Yemma's peaches but also daring to pick a fight!"

"This little girl here? I'll crush her with one blow!"

Infuriated, the Blue Demon and Red Demon raised their weapons, preparing to teach these pesky intruders a lesson, to show them who ruled in hell.

But a few minutes later—

"No... Impossible…"

With wide, disbelieving eyes, the Blue Demon and Red Demon collapsed to the ground. Although unconscious, their faces were still frozen in shock. Beside them, Goku smiled brightly, flashing a victory sign to Yuujin and Chi Chi.

These demons might be stronger than the average hell minions, but for Goku, taking them down was a piece of cake.

"Chi Chi, Goku, let's go pick the fruits."

Kicking the unconscious Blue and Red Demons aside, Yuujin spoke cheerfully.

"Alright, let's go!"

With Yuujin's permission, Goku and Chi Chi gleefully climbed the tree and quickly gathered a large pile of fruits.

Though normally Esenji would only grow in the Celestial Peach Orchard, here they were growing in hell. Strange indeed, but "Esenji" suited them well.

The fruits Goku and Chi Chi picked were each as large as an adult's fist, fresh and juicy-looking.

Swallowing in anticipation, Yuujin, Goku, and Chi Chi each grabbed two and happily began eating…

To be continued…

(T/N: Ensenji (円生樹の実 Enseiju no Mi, lit. "Round Life Tree's Fruit") is the mystical fruit of the Yemma Tree. It grows in Hell, on trees near the Bloody Pond in Area 1, Sector 3, as well as in Yemma Forest.)

Also, guys, check out the fiction titled A Saiyan's Journey Begins From A Dream posted by my alternate personality. It's far better written than this one; you can have my word for it.
