"Boss, two ice creams, please."
Hearing the voice, the ice cream vendor looked up, only to be slightly taken aback.
In front of his small shop were two customers sitting on clouds. One was an adorable girl who seemed to be only five or six years old, sitting on a golden cloud with her big, sparkling eyes blinking brightly.
Next to the little girl was a boy around ten years old. His expression was firm and mature, lacking the typical childishness of someone his age. He sat on a black cloud with his arms crossed, and a mysterious fan was strapped to his back.
What strange children.
"Boss, two ice creams, please."
Seeing the vendor staring at them for a while without reacting, Yuujin frowned and repeated his request.
"Ah, yes, right away."
Finally coming back to his senses, the vendor quickly responded and handed two ice creams to Goku and Yuujin.
After paying, Yuujin and Goku flew away on the Black Nimbus and Golden Nimbus.
"Ah..."
"Yuujin, this thing called ice cream is so delicious!"
Goku exclaimed happily, taking a big bite of the ice cream and getting it all over her mouth.
"You don't eat ice cream like that; you should do it like this."
Yuujin wiped the corner of her mouth and demonstrated the correct way to lick the ice cream.
Quick to learn, Goku mimicked him, sticking out her little tongue. The sweet taste made her love it, and her big eyes curved into crescent shapes.
"There are lots of other tasty things in the city. I'll take you to try them."
"Really? Yay, let's go!"
"Let's start over there. Follow me."
Although they had come to West City to look for Bulma, there was no rush. Yuujin took Goku around to explore and feast until they had spent all their money.
Goku had no concept of money, and Yuujin didn't care much about it either.
With enough strength, getting money was easy.
"Oof... I'm so full."
Lying on the Golden Nimbus and patting her little belly, Goku looked content and happy.
Yuujin, sitting on the Black Nimbus, chuckled. It had been a long time since he had felt this relaxed. Always focused on training, taking a break like this wasn't so bad.
Having learned the direction of the Capsule Corporation, Yuujin and Goku soon found Bulma's house.
After sending the Golden Nimbus and Black Nimbus back to the sky, Yuujin led Goku to ring Bulma's doorbell. Before long, a beautiful blonde woman came out.
"Who are you?"
"Hello, Auntie, my name is Yuujin, and this is Son Goku. We're friends of Bulma."
"We need Bulma's help with something. Is she home?"
Recognizing the woman as Bulma's mother, Mrs. Brief, Yuujin politely introduced themselves and explained their purpose.
"Oh, you're friends of Bulma! Come on in."
"Bulma is still at school. She should be back soon."
Just like in the original Dragon Ball, Mrs. Brief was an outgoing and hospitable woman who warmly welcomed Yuujin and Goku.
Since Bulma wouldn't be back for a while, Yuujin didn't refuse and followed Mrs. Brief inside with Goku.
Bulma's house was vast and luxurious, with many robots moving around. Although they seemed a bit old-fashioned, they were advanced for Earth's technology at the time.
Mrs. Brief led Yuujin and Goku to the living room and brought out an assortment of pastries and fruits for them.
"It's wonderful. This is the first time Bulma's friends have come to our house."
"Bulma has always been smart but not very social. She doesn't have many friends, which worries us."
"Young man, how old are you? Are you Bulma's classmate?"
"And, and..."
Chattering endlessly, Mrs. Brief kept talking.
Although Yuujin already knew how enthusiastic Mrs. Brief was, experiencing it firsthand made him sweat nervously; he found it overwhelming. Goku, on the other hand, didn't mind and was happily devouring the snacks.
During this time, Yuujin also met Bulma's father, Dr. Brief.
Unlike the lively Mrs. Brief, Dr. Brief was an eccentric man. Despite being a renowned inventor and wealthy man, he was always dressed in a white lab coat and looked rather unkempt.
Dr. Brief was a man of few words. After briefly greeting Yuujin and Goku, he went back to tinkering with his machines.
Mrs. Brief seemed somewhat resentful of Dr. Brief. In the original Dragon Ball, the couple often had cold wars and didn't get along well. Yuujin was curious about how two such different personalities ended up together.
"That's strange. Why hasn't Bulma come back yet? She usually gets home around this time."
As evening approached, Mrs. Brief seemed worried that Bulma still hadn't returned.
"Auntie, could you tell us the direction of Bulma's school? We can help look for her."
Standing up, Yuujin quickly suggested.
Mrs. Brief's enthusiasm had worn him out, and he wanted an excuse to get some peace.
"No, that won't do. You're both so young. What if you run into trouble or get lost?"
Mrs. Brief was clearly not in favor of the idea.
It made sense; Goku was only six, and Yuujin was just twelve. To others, they were just two kids.
"Don't worry, Auntie. We're martial artists. We're not afraid of trouble and won't get lost."
"Martial artists?"
To prove it, Yuujin did a few somersaults. Finding it fun, Goku joined in.
"Oh, amazing!"
Mrs. Brief clapped her hands, impressed.
A bit embarrassed, Yuujin blushed. It was just a few somersaults; nothing special.
"Auntie, do you believe us now? Please tell us where Bulma's school is, and we'll bring her back soon."
"Well, alright then."
After hesitating, Mrs. Brief eventually chose to trust Yuujin and gave him the location.
"Don't worry, Auntie. We'll bring Bulma back soon."
Calling on the Black Nimbus and Golden Nimbus, Yuujin and Goku waved goodbye to Mrs. Brief and took off.
"Oh my, can martial artists ride strange clouds and fly?"
"Well, never mind. It's rare to have guests. I should prepare a big dinner."
Though curious about the flying clouds, Mrs. Brief didn't dwell on it and hummed a tune as she headed to the kitchen.
