"So, you finally know to come to me?"
Yuujin pinched little Goku's adorable cheeks, then took the thoroughly roasted tiger off the fire.
The rich aroma was irresistible, and Yuujin tore off a piece of meat to offer to the little one in his arms.
Over the months spent in the spaceship, Goku's teeth had grown in, so she should be able to handle solid food now.
Seeing the little one eagerly devour the tiger meat, Yuujin felt reassured. If she still needed milk, he wouldn't know what to do.
Tearing off a piece for himself, Yuujin also dug in heartily.
Delicious!
The entire giant tiger was devoured by the two of them, leaving Yuujin and Goku quite satisfied.
No longer having to worry about oppression or going hungry—yes, Earth truly was the best place.
After resting for a bit, Yuujin extinguished the bonfire and carried Goku back into the spaceship.
Goku soon fell asleep on his chest while Yuujin lay on his back, gazing up at the night sky, lost in thought.
Now that they had escaped Planet Vegeta, it was time to plan their next move.
Though Earth was relatively safe for the time being, Yuujin had no intention of living a mundane life.
As a transmigrator, wasn't it only right to accomplish something significant?
Conquer Earth, conquer the universe, build a grand harem…
These were certainly within reach!
However, any ambition required strength, so the top priority was to increase his power!
Although Yuujin could continue training on his own, that would be a foolish choice. On Planet Vegeta, he had no other options and no one to teach him, so he was forced to perform the most basic training, resulting in limited power growth. Now that he was on Earth, things had to change.
He made up his mind—he would seek out Master Roshi!
Master Roshi, the Turtle Hermit, was a crucial figure in the original Dragon Ball series. Many powerful Z-Fighters, including the protagonist Goku and the strongest Earthling Krillin, were trained by him. Though Master Roshi's combat strength became insignificant in the later stages of Dragon Ball, his martial arts understanding and ability to cultivate disciples were among the best in the entire series.
Besides, it wasn't just about learning martial arts. Master Roshi himself was an interesting old man, and Yuujin was genuinely eager to meet some of the original Dragon Ball characters.
However, with Vegeta becoming Vegita, Broly turning into Brolia, and Kakarot becoming Kakarotto, he could only hope the creator of this world hadn't gone so far as to turn Master Roshi into "Mistress Roshi" or something similar. If that were the case, Yuujin would be cursing the heavens. (weird pun….)
With his next plan decided, Yuujin relaxed, closed his eyes, and began to drift into sleep.
The next day, early morning—
"Ha..."
Yawning, Yuujin stepped out of the spaceship. There was no need to worry about being late for work anymore; last night was the most restful sleep he'd had in the past six years.
"Let's find something to eat first."
Muttering to himself, Yuujin leaped into the forest. It didn't take long before he returned with a large bundle of fruits in his arms.
After a simple breakfast with Goku, Yuujin was ready to leave. But before departing, he had to deal with the spaceships.
Although the technology on Earth was fairly advanced, even featuring some unique black tech, it would likely take decades before humans could reach space. Thus, these two spaceships could still come in handy in the future.
If only there were Capsule Corp. capsules, it would be easy to carry them away. Unfortunately, Yuujin didn't have anything like that, so he had to find a way to hide them.
Telling Goku to play on the side, Yuujin filled the crater left by the spaceships with dirt and buried them. To make future retrieval easier, he also piled up some stones as markers, so there was no worry about losing the spot.
With everything settled, Yuujin dusted off his hands and nodded with satisfaction.
"Goku, come over, we're setting off."
"Eeya eeya..."
Hearing Yuujin's voice, little Goku, who was rolling around on the ground, crawled over and clung to his shoulder.
Taking one last glance at the place, Yuujin didn't linger and headed into the forest with Goku…
...
"Squeak squeak!! Squeak squeak squeak!!!"
On a giant tree in the forest, a group of monkeys swung back and forth, playing around.
Sitting on a branch, Yuujin and Goku were each munching on a piece of fruit. They had been traveling through the forest for two days but still hadn't reached the end. The forest's size was unknown.
"Squeak squeak squeak!!!"
Suddenly, a monkey jumped down and, as if to please Yuujin, offered him a big fruit.
It was baffling, but Yuujin accepted it. The monkey seemed delighted, then turned around and showed its red rear to Yuujin, wiggling around.
Yuujin's mouth twitched. Was this mischievous monkey trying to be cheeky?
He took a bite of the fruit and kicked the monkey down.
After eating their fill, Yuujin prepared to continue the journey with Goku. However, at that moment, a buzzing sound came from the sky, and a plane trailing black smoke was flying toward them from a distance.
"Ahhh…"
"Help, sister, daddy!"
"I don't want to die…"
Yuujin, who had excellent hearing, could hear the panicked cries from the plane. He immediately stood up on the branch.
Finally seeing another person, Yuujin felt a bit of excitement, but the situation seemed dire.
Well, they were lucky to have encountered him; otherwise, a crash would be inevitable today.
"Goku, hold on tight!"
"Eeya eeya."
Yuujin shouted, and little Goku quickly clung tightly to him.
The plane, spewing black smoke, drew closer and closer. Just as it was about to fly over the treetop, Yuujin leaped up, grabbing onto the left wing.
"Ahhh!!!"
The sudden added weight caused the plane to tilt left, accelerating its descent. The people onboard screamed again in terror.
Little Goku seemed to be having a great time, clinging to Yuujin and happily shouting.
This couldn't go on. Yuujin quickly exerted his strength, pulling himself up to land steadily on the fuselage…
To be continued…
Author Notes: I see everyone debating about the Saiyan's power-up ability after near-death recovery. Honestly, I think this ability is too overpowered. If it's not limited, the power levels will definitely get out of control in the later stages, giving the protagonist too many loopholes to exploit for rapid power growth. As for a reader mentioning bottlenecks, Saiyans do have them, but anyone familiar with Dragon Ball knows that these so-called bottlenecks are practically a joke for Saiyans. While I could gloss over this like the original did, I know readers will bring it up later, so I might as well establish a limit now.
Changing the original settings arbitrarily in fan fiction is generally a big taboo, but with Dragon Ball, there are so many bugs that some things just have to be adjusted. The original Dragon Ball setting for Universe 7 will remain as is, but this book's Universe 13 will make some modifications. Furthermore, although I'm introducing a limit of three significant power boosts, that doesn't mean future battles or near-death experiences won't increase power anymore; the growth just won't be as exaggerated. I've already mentioned this earlier in the text.
