BANG!!
The cigarette, blown apart by the bullet, leaving only the holder, fell from the young man's trembling fingers. The young man in the luxury car to the right was frozen in fear, his smug, boastful expression still plastered on his face, making him look almost comical.
"Stay quiet, or I'll kill you all," Holm's voice rasped, low and hoarse.
He slowly lifted his head, fixing his gaze on the young man beside him. Thick, black liquid seeped from his face, forming a grotesque mask with narrow, pale eyes and a twisted, gaping mouth.
"Damn it!" Holm suddenly growled.
As he growled, the terrifying mask receded like a retreating tide, vanishing instantly.
Vrrrrr…..
Holm ignored the terrified young men on both sides, slammed his foot on the accelerator, and sped off.
.....
[At Home]
In his room, thick curtains blocked out most of the daylight, leaving only the sound of running water from the bathroom to echo through the house.
Water dripped down Holm's face as the sounds around him became unbearably amplified, rushing into his ears all at once.
Forcing himself to adapt, Holm slowly raised his head, staring at his reflection in the mirror. He spoke in a deep voice, "Why don't you come out and introduce yourself? You weren't so quiet a moment ago."
Swessshhhbhh~
As Holm's words faded, the bathroom fell silent except for the steady stream of water.
Holm continued staring at his reflection, as though waiting for something.
Finally, after a few moments, thick, black liquid began to seep from Holm's cheeks, forming half of a monstrous, twisted face.
"Ha, looks like I made the right choice. You're quite interesting."
The grotesque mouth on the half-formed face moved, and a hoarse, grating voice filled the bathroom.
After speaking, the black liquid shifted from Holm's face to his shoulders, eventually coalescing into a fully formed head.
"I think we need to get to know each other better, don't you?" Holm said, his gaze fixed on the head made of Venom.
His suspicions were correct—he had somehow got involved with the Venom.
Back in the suburbs, Holm hadn't understood why those memories resurfaced so suddenly, or why his murderous impulses were becoming harder to control.
It wasn't until his encounter with the two cars of unfortunate drivers that he connected his changes to Venom.
Now, seeing Venom manifest in front of him confirmed the truth.
Half an hour later, Holm and Venom completed their communication, deeply discussing their relationship and coming to a series of agreements.
"So, you're the reason those memories suddenly resurfaced," Holm remarked, watching Venom as it slithered around the room, connected to his abdomen.
Venom chuckled hoarsely. "Those memories would have come back eventually, but it would've taken longer."
"I noticed you couldn't remember what that guy said back then, so I sped up the process. Don't thank me too much."
Before Holm could respond, Venom abruptly reappeared in front of him, staring at him with its narrow, pale eyes, speaking eagerly: "Like I said, let's kill that guy!"
"I can feel your hatred, your thirst to kill him! Now, with me, you have unbeatable power! Those weak humans stand no chance against us!"
"So, let's kill him! Tear his head off! I can already smell it!"
"Oh, and that arm pressing on your neck! Let's rip it off and shove it down his throat! Hehehe!"
As Venom ranted in excitement, Holm remained lost in thought.
He noticed this Venom was different from the one in the movie he remembered.
Though it pushed him to kill Grant Ward, Holm realised that, unlike the Spider-Man version, the Venom now bonded to him didn't seem as evil or corrupt.
A large part of Venom's desire to kill Ward stemmed from Holm's own hatred, and only a small part seemed to be driven by Venom's natural greed.
If this Venom was the same as the one from the Spider-Man movie, Ward's head would've been ripped off the moment Ward placed his hand on Holm's neck.
Compared to the Venom from the standalone Venom movie, this one seemed to lack independent consciousness or thoughts, had no real understanding of human society, and had a strange simplicity akin to a college student's immaturity, mixed with the innocence of an animal.
It was like a puppy, eager to please its owner—though this particular puppy was dark and grotesque.
Perhaps this universe itself was unique, and Holm was Venom's first host.
Watching Venom still awaiting his response, Holm shook his head. "He has to die, but now isn't the time."
Holm's answer left Venom visibly deflated. The excitement drained from it instantly, and its head drooped.
"What a shame, his head smelled so good."
"Here, try this instead." Holm pulled out a chocolate bar he had stashed in a drawer at some point and handed it to Venom.
According to his memory, Venom from the movie enjoyed chocolate, as it contained ingredients similar to the brain.
"What is this? Smells good." Venom extended a tentacle, wrapping it around the chocolate, clearly intrigued by its scent.
After sniffing it again, Venom was about to devour it whole.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, you need to unwrap it first," Holm quickly intervened, tearing the wrapper off for Venom.
The small piece of chocolate looked absurdly tiny in Venom's monstrous mouth, but even that morsel opened the door to a new world for the symbiote. In no time, Holm was forced to head out to buy more chocolate for Venom.
That first piece had barely satisfied Venom's cravings, and chocolate didn't provide the same energy as a human brain. Holm realised he'd likely need to keep a constant supply of chocolate on hand from now on.
As Holm stepped out of the house, Venom got its first glimpse of the bustling crowd. To the symbiote, every passerby seemed like a delicious, tempting snack.
Unfortunately for Venom, Holm had already made it clear they wouldn't be indulging in those "treats," forcing the symbiote to watch them pass by without even showing its face.
