The orange-red afterglow of the sunset sprinkled in from the gaps in the curtains, adding a bit of brightness to the dim environment.
Lin Mo stood in the bathroom, looking at the unfamiliar self in the mirror, and it took him a while to calm down.
"What happened, have I reincarnated?"
"Hiss! My head hurts!" Lin Mo covered his head and sat on the toilet with a painful look on his face. There was dried blood on the right side of his temple and a large patch on the hard-lined right side of his face.
Combined with the bloodstains on the floor next to the sofa, Lin Mo could roughly know what position he had been lying there in just now.
Although he has read many novels, Lin Mo never thought that one day he himself would go through reincarnation. He was clearly in his rental house, drinking, eating, and watching movies, enjoying a rare leisurely weekend, but when he woke up, he found himself in this strange place and inhabiting a stranger's body.
"Damn, my head hurts so much, it feels like it's about to burst!" Lin Mo felt like someone had hit his head with a rod, he was in a moment of shock for some seconds. Feeling all muddled and groggy, he didn't know if it was due to excessive blood loss or because he had just reincarnated.
Along with intense pain, fragmented memories kept appearing in his mind. Under the influence of pain and memory fragments, Lin Mo's face became pale and cold sweat continued to appear on his face.
Lin Mo didn't know for how long he sat there, but after the pain finally subsided. Lin Mo let out a long breath and gasped.
Don't know if it's because of his reincarnation or something, but Lin Mo can feel that many memories of this body have been lost. However, through those fragmented memory fragments, Lin Mo finally learned something about the condition of this world and this body.
Holm Clint, this was the name of the person whom this body belonged to, and also Lin Mo's current name. He works for Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, also known as S.H.I.E.L.D. He is not only a level six agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., but also a member of Hydra hidden in the shadow of S.H.I.E.L.D.
"SHIELD? HYDRA?....Wait, so I have reincarnated into Marvel?"
It wasn't tough to identify the current universe as with information about his current identity, big names like Tony Stark also appeared in his memory.
Lin Mo knew that the world he had travelled to was not an ordinary world like his original one and he had to take every step with caution.
Confusing thoughts kept swirling in Lin Mo's mind, and his head, which was already a little dizzy due to excessive blood loss, became even more confused at this moment.
Lin Mo knew that his condition was not very good at the moment. He touched his shrivelled stomach and staggered to the kitchen, scavenging some bread and a bottle of water.
He wanted to find some red dates or something like that to replenish his blood, but it was obvious that such things would not exist in this Euro-American style home.
Lin Mo just sat on the sofa and nibbled on the bread with water, while resting and recovering his strength, so that his condition could improve.
While looking at the pool of blood on the ground, he sorted out his thoughts in his head. Putting aside the fact that this world is the Marvel world and the dual identity that he bore, the most important thing now is to figure out who killed him.
His fragmented memory did not contain the answer to this part. He could not even remember what he had done last night or with whom he had had a conflict recently. He had just checked his body in the bathroom, and there was only blood on his temple, which should be the fatal wound.
He also carefully studied the fatal wound and found that although the bloodstain was horrible, the wound there had completely recovered, with only a few shallow marks remaining, indicating that there had been a wound here.
Lin Mo guessed that this might be an abnormal phenomenon caused by his reincarnation.
In order to verify whether this ability still exists and whether it is his golden finger, he deliberately cut a little on the back of his hand with a knife, but there was no reaction at all, the wound was still bleeding, and there was no special recovery speed.
But what is the reason behind his murder? Was he killed for revenge? Or was it SHIELD or Hydra that saw him as a threat and did this to take him out of their way?
Although Lin Mo had obtained his identity through scattered information, he had no way of finding more information to judge his current situation.
His memory was like a broken mirror, enough to know that what existed in it was a reflection but missing all the parts which will tell whose reflection it was.
The main thing is, this is not his original world, it is marvel, he can't do it like he did it in his original universe, here he will have to take every step with caution because a single mistake can cause him his life.
Lin Mo felt a headache. Fortunately, he had watched all the Marvel movies in his previous life. He couldn't say that he knew all the details, but he knew the direction of the plot very well.
As long as he could avoid places where these big events happened at critical moments, he should be safe. But the problem is that his current identity is a bit tricky. Being a Level 6 agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. is already very dangerous, but over that he is a member of Hydra.
"Damn, What a mess this all is!" Lin Mo thought about his current situation and felt sad. Although he was now in his own home, he did not feel safe at all. The blood on the floor had not been cleaned up yet. The somewhat dried black and red blood was constantly reminding him that his current situation was not safe.
After thinking about it, Lin Mo couldn't find any clues from the limited clues. He could only take one step at a time and judge who had murderous intentions towards him by observing the people around him. The people he come into contact with are generally either agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Hydra's undercover agents in S.H.I.E.L.D.
So the person who attacked him must belong to one of these two categories. As for the ordinary people he came into contact with in daily life, Lin Mo excluded this type of people after thinking for a moment.
The murder scene took place in his home. If it was an ordinary person or a stranger he met in daily life, Holm Clint would have definitely not let him enter into his house. Moreover, ordinary people could never be a match for Holm Clint, a double agent of SHIELD and HYDRA.
Although Lin Mo didn't know how much of his previous skills would remain after his reincarnation, he was sure that before his rebirth, Holm Clint's skills were absolutely flawless. So, to sum up, the person who killed him must be from SHIELD or Hydra, and must be someone he knew, either his colleague or his superior.
Thinking of this, Lin Mo narrowed his eyes and had some plans in his mind. According to his fragmentary memories and his memories of his previous life, he is inclined to believe that the person who killed him belonged to Hydra.
After all, Hydra as organization is more strict and its methods are more cruel than those of S.H.I.E.L.D.
In this dangerous Marvel universe, Lin Mo would have to carefully navigate through the treacherous web of enemies surrounding him, be it S.H.I.E.L.D. agents or Hydra members. Survival would mean constantly looking over his shoulder, all while gathering his strength to face the unpredictable future ahead of him.
