Chapter 1 - Where it all starts

It was a day like any other for Terry. He was in his room, trying to study after several hours of university lectures the day before. He had a peculiar trait: whenever he was under stress, he felt a thrill run through his entire body, which helped him calm down and focus. He had tried to find others with the same ability, but to no avail, and his friends considered him crazy.

Tired after hours of studying, he was playing a shooter game when he suddenly heard a voice calling him from behind.

"Terry, Terry! The famous Terry, reduced to living like this… In my studies, I always believed you were the founder of cultivation techniques."

Terry turned sharply. "What are you talking about? And who are you?"

"I am Jen, a humanoid from 3000 years in the future. Humanity has been fighting against demons for survival."

Terry stared at him, confused and disbelieving. "Get out of my house, or I'll call the police!"

Jen raised a hand calmly. "Relax. Now, I will show you an astral projector. Look: these are future events. In a few years, the first portals will begin to open, but by then, you will already be dead."

Terry turned pale. "And what does this have to do with me?"

Jen looked at him seriously. "You were the first to theorize the technique to increase human power."

"Power? What are you talking about??" Terry exclaimed, before collapsing to the ground, overwhelmed by the shock of everything he had just heard.

Suddenly, he was jolted awake by a splash of ice-cold water. Gasping, he sat up, drenched and shivering.

"What the hell was that for?!" he shouted, looking around.

Jen stood over him, holding an empty container. "No time to waste."

Before Terry could protest, Jen grabbed his wrist and pressed a small metallic device against it. A sharp pain shot through his arm as the device embedded itself into his skin.

"Argh! What the hell did you do to me?!" Terry gritted his teeth, clutching his wrist as the pain faded into a strange, tingling sensation.

"That's a neural interface chip," Jen explained. "It will give you a system like in video games, allowing you to access information and abilities beyond human limits."

Terry stared at his wrist in shock as a faint holographic interface flickered into existence above his palm. His mind was racing, trying to process everything.

Before he could ask anything else, Jen tensed up and looked around. "Damn it… Those bastards who control time are looking for me."** He clenched his fists, frustration evident in his voice. "I have to go. Let's hope we meet again."**

Without another word, Jen vanished into thin air, leaving Terry sitting on the floor, drenched, confused, and now permanently linked to a system he didn't understand.
