The battlefield lay heavy with silence, broken only by the crackling remnants of Morvanna's dark magic dissipating into the air. Kaelen stood rooted in place, his chest heaving, his eyes fixed on Alyssia's lifeless body. Seraphina knelt beside her, trembling hands brushing against her still face. Garrick stood nearby, fists clenched, his face a mask of sorrow.

"She didn't deserve this," Seraphina whispered, her voice fragile, tears streaming down her cheeks. "She fought so hard…"

Kaelen didn't respond. His fists trembled as he stared at Alyssia, her once vibrant presence reduced to silence. His heart burned with a volatile mix of rage and despair, each breath like a dagger in his chest.

"This is my fault," Kaelen said finally, his voice low and raw. "She trusted me. Believed in me. And now…" His voice cracked as he turned away, unable to look at her still form any longer.

"Kaelen," Seraphina began softly, stepping closer, but he shook his head violently.
