Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"I Yearn to feel you," Hardecker Hunter said hoarsely, his voice a rough whisper filled with need. As he pulled Sirena Hardly closer, the heat between them became an undeniable force. His eyes, darkened with desire, locked onto hers for a fleeting moment before he swept down, capturing her lips with his own in a searing kiss.

At the first brush of his mouth, a shiver of electricity shot through Sirena, and she gasped, just enough for him to plunge deeper. His tongue swept inside, exploring and tasting, claiming every inch of her which left her breathless.

Hunter's hands gripped her tightly, his fingers splayed against her back as he deepened the kiss, as if he was trying to memorize the feel of her, the way her lips trembled under his, and the soft, helpless whimper she gave as he took her further. The warmth of her mouth, welcoming and soft, was intoxicating. It drove him mad, igniting a fire he had fought to contain for far too long.

With a low growl, he tightened his arms around her, lifting her until her feet left the ground. Her body molded to his, every curve fitting against him like she had always belonged there. Instinctively, she wrapped her legs around his hips, feeling the hard planes of his body press against her softness. She wiggled, seeking more, her movements urgent as she tried to gain purchase, her hands clutching at his shoulders.

Hunter's grip on her tightened, pulling her impossibly closer, as if he could fuse them together. The heat of their bodies mingled, creating a feverish warmth that enveloped them. Sirena's fingers tangled in his hair, and she pulled him deeper into the kiss, feeling the fierce, passion coursing through both of them. The world faded away, and all that remained was the insistent, burning need they felt for each other.

He broke the kiss for a brief moment, their foreheads pressed together, their breaths mingling in ragged, heated pants. "You drive me crazy, Sirena," he murmured against her lips, his voice rough and desperate. "I can't get enough of you."

Sirena's eyes fluttered open, meeting his gaze, her lips still tingling from the intensity of their kiss. "Then don't stop," she whispered, her voice a soft, aching plea. "Take me, Hunter."

And he did—his mouth claiming hers once more as he pressed her back against the nearest wall, their bodies entwined in passion that left no space between them.

Shortly after, the door flung open with a bang. Hunter's instincts kicked in as he whirled around, pushing Sirena down and shielding her with his body. His eyes flashed with a dangerous light as he glared at the intruder, prepared for the worst.

Adam Glamour stood at the doorway, his expression a mix of surprise and awkward amusement. He raised a hand in mock surrender, his mouth slightly agape. "Erm, well, sorry to interrupt, but your father insists on your presence," he said, an awkward chuckle escaping him. "And, you may want to consider toning down the, uh, volume on that particular item. You wouldn't want to make everyone in their offices uncomfortable, now would you?" he teased, his eyes flicking between Hunter and Sirena.

Hunter's tension slowly dissipated, though his annoyance remained. He sensed the wave of embarrassment radiating from Sirena as she stood, straightening her clothes. Her face was flushed, and her eyes were cast downward, clearly mortified. Hunter wouldn't allow her to remain in this awkward situation any longer.

"Sirena, would you mind stepping out for a moment?" he requested, his tone polite but firm.

Sirena lifted her eyes briefly to meet his, a hint of vulnerability in her gaze. "Of course," she murmured softly, trying to regain her composure. She made her way to the door, her steps quick, but Hunter's next words halted her in her tracks.

"And I must insist that you forget everything that happened here. Not a word of this to the other staff, understood?" His tone was sharp, a command that left no room for argument.

"Y-yes, sir," she replied hastily, her voice barely above a whisper. She scurried out of the office, her mind whirling with confusion and unease. The door clicked shut behind her, and Hunter was left alone with Adam.

Adam crossed his arms, leaning casually against the doorframe. "As cold as ever when it comes to the fairer sex," he muttered, shaking his head as he sauntered into the office and made himself comfortable on Hunter's desk, kicking his feet up.

Hunter shot him a sharp look but didn't respond immediately. Instead, he crossed the room to the bar, his movements precise and controlled. "Why dwell on what cannot be changed?" he finally answered, pouring a generous measure of amber liquor into a glass. The liquid swirled as he lifted it, his expression hardening as he tried to push aside the irritation still Sauntering within him.

Adam watched him, his eyes sharp with curiosity. "Well, in any case, your father demands an audience with you. Immediately," he informed him, this time with a hint of urgency.

Hunter downed the drink in one swift motion, feeling the burn as it slid down his throat. "That meddlesome old man," he muttered, slamming the glass down onto the bar with a clink. "What does he want now?"

Adam's playful demeanor faded, and his expression turned serious. "Apparently, someone has barged into the building, demanding to see Mr. Hardecker. No one seems to know who this person is, but they claim to know the whereabouts of the Adley heiress," he explained, his tone hushed.

For a moment, the room fell into a heavy silence. Hunter's hand tightened around the glass, his knuckles turning white. The name sent a jolt through him as the glass slipped from his fingers, shattering on the floor, the sound echoing sharply in the room.

Adam's eyes flicked up, watching Hunter's reaction carefully. "Seems this isn't just another one of your father's whims, then."

Hunter's gaze sharpened, and after a moment, he moved. His stride was purposeful, every step calculated as he headed for the door. "This better not be a ploy," he muttered under his breath, pushing past Adam and out of the office.

Adam followed him, quickening his pace to keep up. "If it's true, you'll want to hear this. I know you miss her"

Hunter didn't respond, his eyes focused and cold as he made his way down the hall. The tension in his body was palpable, his mind racing. If the claim was real, it could uncover everything he thought he knew.

As they reached the elevators, Hunter's jaw clenched. "Let's find out what this mysterious visitor knows. And if they're lying, they'll regret the day they set foot in this building."

The doors slid open, and the two stepped inside.
