Chapter 55 - Cassandra's Competitive Spirit

Cro gave a modest smile.

"If I could get guidance from Professor Flitwick, that would be wonderful. I read in a book that Professor Flitwick won a Dueling Championship, right?"

A nostalgic look appeared on Professor Flitwick's face, his lips curving into a smile.

"Ah, I'm old now, can't compare with the younger folks. With your talent, if you entered the Dueling Championship, you'd definitely win a title as well!" Flitwick waved his hand dismissively, but his words caused the students to exclaim in surprise.

Even Cassandra looked at Flitwick with astonishment.

Who would've thought that this small professor, not even one meter tall, had won a Dueling Championship?

Seeing the admiration in the students' eyes, Flitwick's mood brightened, and he looked at Cro with increasing satisfaction.

"Your Levitation Charm is already very good. If you're restless, feel free to step out for a bit. Hmm, if another professor asks, just tell them I gave you permission," Flitwick said with a smile.

Cro's performance had exceeded Flitwick's expectations. Initially, seeing Cro seemingly distracted had annoyed him, but now, not only was the annoyance gone, but he even considered grooming Cro to be his successor—maybe even sending him to compete in the Dueling Championship again.

The thought brightened Flitwick's eyes, and he began to silently calculate. It seemed like a viable plan!

"In that case, I'll head back to the dormitory. I've been working on a potion and ran into a problem. I think Professor Snape can help me," Cro said with a smile, standing up and nodding to Cassandra before leaving the Charms classroom.

Flitwick's rewards were all claimed for the day, as were Professor McGonagall's. Cassandra's chest was still left, but there was no rush.

With time on his hands, Cro decided he might as well visit Dumbledore or Snape since the Occlumency spell was his top priority right now. Both were masters of the spell, but how could he make them lower their defenses? Cro pondered as he walked.

After all, these two were no ordinary people—one was the greatest white wizard who had faced two Dark Lords, and the other was a double agent, unflinching even in front of Voldemort. To earn high-tier rewards from them, he needed to target their weaknesses. And their soft spots…

"I wonder how old Dumbledore would react to some familiar words? Would he think I was sent by that person?" Cro smirked.

It seemed there was a chance to get a legendary chest today! With that thought, Cro headed straight for the Headmaster's office.

Back in the Charms classroom, the Slytherin students were grumbling.

"Professor Flitwick, this is unfair! Why can Cro go back to the dorm while we still have to attend class?"

"By Merlin's beard, this isn't right!"

"Exactly! Even if he can do the Levitation Charm, he should stay in class like the rest of us!"

Flitwick glanced around calmly.

"If you have any complaints, you can go to Professor Dumbledore and report me. Of course, if any of you can perform as well as Cro, I'll let you leave too."

Upon hearing this, the Slytherins exchanged glances and fell silent, unable to argue.

There was no way they would actually report Flitwick, and they knew what the outcome would be.

Cassandra sneered at the group.

"Don't talk about fairness if you lack the skill! As Slytherins, I'm ashamed of you all!" she said disdainfully.

"You…!" Malfoy and his gang glared at her, about to retort, but when they saw it was Cassandra speaking, the words died in their throats.

The Waugh family was not like their declining pure-blood houses.

Although the Waughs had moved to the U.S. long ago, they had avoided the second Dark Lord's reign, which caused the British pure-blood families to weaken while the American ones thrived.

"Hmph, you're a disgrace to Slytherin," Cassandra spat, looking at them in disgust before returning her attention to her book.

She had been hailed as a genius from a young age, but after meeting Cro, she had experienced an unprecedented blow to her pride. That was why she hadn't joined Cro earlier in the morning.

"I refuse to believe I'm not as good as you!" Cassandra gripped her book tightly, her knuckles turning white from the pressure.

The setback hadn't crushed her; instead, it had sparked a strong competitive spirit. No one had ever surpassed her—not before, and Cro wouldn't be an exception.

Cassandra pursed her lips and immersed herself fully in her studies.

If Cro could use the Levitation Charm to lift others without anyone noticing, then she was determined to master it too!

Meanwhile, Malfoy and his gang, whom she had insulted, were seething with frustration. They weren't in the mood to focus on their books. Instead, they clenched their fists in anger, silently vowing to get back at Cro.

They might not dare to mess with Cassandra, but Cro was another matter.

It was all because of Cro! If not for him, none of this would have happened! Malfoy and his friends exchanged looks, nodding in agreement.

They were determined to make Cro pay!

[Detected intense competitive spirit!]
