Snape shot Cro a deep look.
With a flick of his long robes, Snape turned and walked away.
"Mr. Cro, congratulations on becoming the hidden prefect for the first-year students. But I don't want to see you using Dark Magic again. I'll let it slide this time."
After finishing, he briskly walked away, moving like a bat skimming the ground.

"Tsk, what a haul today. I wonder what I'll get from the old bat's Diamond Chest. Maybe the Occlumency I need?" Cro's eyes glistened with anticipation.
"Gemma Farley, senior, where is my private dormitory? Could you kindly show me the way?"
"The first room on the left at the end of the hallway. That's the hidden prefect's private dormitory," Gemma replied.
"Thank you, senior."
Cro politely expressed his gratitude, then turned to Cassandra.
"I suppose you wouldn't want to share a room with me, would you? Though if you did, that would be great. Don't worry, I don't snore or kick the blanket!"
Cassandra froze, her expression stiffening. Realizing the implication of Cro's words, her face turned bright red.
"Why would it matter to me whether you snore or not? When did I ever say I'd share a room with you?"
"Which is why I said you probably wouldn't. Anyway, I'm off to bed. Goodnight, dear Cassandra, see you tomorrow."
Cro shrugged, uninterested in waiting for her response. He turned and headed toward the end of the hallway, hands behind his back. He had forgotten that Cassandra's treasure chest had already hit its limit—teasing her was a waste of time.
Still, today's rewards were enough. Thinking about the treasure chests in his system's space, Cro's steps became lighter, and he couldn't help but hum a tune. The little snakes' dancing almost perfectly complemented his mood!
"Oh, by the way, my spell will wear off at sunrise. You have plenty of time to enjoy their dance!"
"You might want to grab some snacks and come back to watch. After all, it's a new school year, so throwing a party seems reasonable, doesn't it?" Cro reminded the others just before entering his dormitory.
The older Slytherins exchanged glances as if they'd discovered a new world. They quickly got up and rushed to the Hogwarts kitchens, leaving Malfoy and his group helplessly dancing, tears almost in their eyes.
By now, they were utterly exhausted, but their bodies still moved uncontrollably.
Cassandra glanced at them with mild disinterest before heading to her own room. Her luggage had already been delivered by house-elves, so all she needed was a good rest.
Well… except for Malfoy and his crew!
"Five Diamond Chests. I wonder what treasures they hold!"
Cro sat on his bed, rubbing his hands together in excitement. It was only the first day of school, and he had already gained so much. Hogwarts truly was a treasure chest farming paradise!
"Let's open one to get things rolling! System, open the Diamond Chest!!"
Cro took a deep breath, unable to contain his anticipation. These treasure chests were, after all, contributed by Dumbledore and Snape. One was the most powerful white wizard, and the other was a master of both Dark and Light Magic. Snape's Occlumency, in particular, was something even that noseless guy couldn't crack. If Cro could get it, he'd have nothing to worry about!
[Congratulations! You have opened a Diamond Chest and received: Superior Potion Mastery Talent!]
[Superior Potion Mastery Talent: You are a favored child of potions. The Elixir of Immortality will be within your reach!]
Cro's lips twitched.
"That's it? A Diamond Chest, and this is all I get? Where's my Occlumency?! I..."
Cro took a few deep breaths, suppressing his speechlessness and frustration. The Potion Mastery Talent wasn't useless, but concocting an Elixir of Immortality… If that were even possible, Snape would've been unbeatable by now. Even the Philosopher's Stone could only extend a user's lifespan, not stop the aging of their body. The Stone was the pinnacle of alchemy, and even then, it couldn't halt bodily decline.
If there truly was an Elixir of Immortality, it wouldn't be something that could be brewed just because of a talent.
Cro closed his eyes, muttering to himself.
"Stay calm, don't get angry. Having something is better than nothing. Potion mastery is still useful. I'll eventually get what I want."
After calming down, Cro opened his eyes again.
"Keep opening! I refuse to believe I won't get anything good!"
Cro clenched his fists tightly.
[Congratulations! You have opened a Diamond Chest and received: 10,000 Galleons!]
Cro's eyes widened, and he leaped off the bed.
"Are you kidding me? Ten thousand galleons?! System, you—! Come out! Come out here right now!! I'll take you down with me, you damn system!"
Cro shouted furiously, and it was a good thing the room was equipped with a Silencing Charm, or his angry roars would've been heard outside. But at this moment, Cro didn't care. He felt his heart clench in pain, his breath hitching, as if he could collapse any second.
The system remained silent, as if nothing had happened, leaving Cro to rage alone.
