Chapter 17 - The Wand... Exploded? The Wand Suitable for Cro!

Was it just a golden treasure chest?

Cro felt a bit disappointed to see that Professor McGonagall's last treasure chest was only silver.

He had initially thought he might get a diamond treasure chest or something similar.

What disappointed him even more was that Professor McGonagall's last treasure chest was actually silver.

"Mr. Ollivander must have his reasons for doing this. We just need to cooperate with him," Cro said.

"Are you not afraid that he won't give you a good wand if you ask him like that? You're really hopeless!" Hermione leaned closer to Cro and said.

Although she lowered her voice for the last part, Ollivander and Professor McGonagall were not ordinary people and heard her words clearly, leaving them both somewhat amused and exasperated.

Now, Ollivander found himself in a dilemma; he couldn't turn back nor could he ignore her, so he could only silently rummage through the wands, feeling a bit self-doubting. Did he really seem like a grumpy old man out for revenge against little wizards?

[Detected intense feelings of helplessness!]

[Reward obtained: Silver Treasure Chest!]

...

Cro raised an eyebrow and gave Hermione a strange look.

She could no longer just be called a treasure girl; she was simply his support in opening treasure chests! Not only could she provide him with treasure chests, but she could also help him unlock more!

Amazing!

"Let me see, apple wood, thunderbird feather. No, it should be this one!"

Ollivander put down one wand and quickly grabbed another one from nearby.

He jumped off the ladder and ran in front of Cro, pretending to be oblivious to Hermione's comments.

He smiled as he handed the wand to Cro.

"The wand is made of ebony, with a core of thunderbird feather, suitable for a brave and fearless little wizard!"

"Give it a wave and try it out."

Cro eagerly took the wand.

This was his first time holding a real wand.

As soon as he grasped it, a wonderful sensation spread throughout his body, as if he had gained an extra vein.

His magical power surged eagerly into the wand.

Cro felt that as long as he waved the wand lightly, he could unleash the magic within.

He thought so and did just that.

With a swift flick of the black wand—

Boom!!

A thunderous sound erupted.

The distant counter instantly shattered into pieces.

The wand in Cro's hand also exploded, leaving only half of it still grasped by him.

"Uh, sorry, Mr. Ollivander. I didn't know it would turn out like this," Cro awkwardly handed the damaged wand to Ollivander.

He really hadn't expected that merely activating the wand's magic could cause such destruction.

No wonder even powerful wizards like Dumbledore and Voldemort needed to use wands in battle.

"Cro, are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?"

After recovering from their shock, Hermione and the others rushed to Cro's side to check on him.

Finding that he was unscathed except for his slightly tousled hair, they all breathed a sigh of relief.

"Reparo!"

Professor McGonagall waved her wand, and the shattered counter restored itself as if nothing had happened.

"No need to apologize; this is my fault, not yours. It seems that you and this wand are not a match."

"What a picky little guy! Let me find another one for you. Just a moment!"

Ollivander tossed aside the destroyed wand and hurried back to the counter to rummage through his stock.

He hadn't encountered a young wizard capable of destroying a wand during a test in a long time.

The last one was...

Ollivander shook his head, breaking the train of thought, and continued searching for wands without pausing.

Cro and the others waited silently.

Hermione's face showed some anger.

In her view, Ollivander had deliberately given Cro a bad wand to seek revenge on him.

She wanted to question Ollivander, but Cro held her back.

What a joke.

If anyone understood, it would be him!

That wand had no problem; it was simply Cro's issue.

His magical power had surged too much, causing the wand to explode.

Although he was touched by Hermione's strong support, it was clear that confronting Ollivander wouldn't help.

Otherwise, they would have to seek another wand master over in America.

Besides, it wasn't Ollivander's fault.

"Oh! Found it! Let me see if our picky little guy is suited for this wand!"

Ollivander exclaimed excitedly as he ran back to Cro, holding a deep black wand resembling a vine.

"The wand is made of purple wood, strong and durable, with a core of nightmare hair, and it's eleven inches long. I believe it can withstand your magical power."

"Now, give it a wave and try it out. Don't worry, just let it flow."

Ollivander looked at Cro expectantly.

Cro gestured for Hermione, who was pouting, to step back.

Seeing her reluctant retreat, Cro held the wand and felt a bloodline connection surge through it.

He couldn't help but wave the wand.

A peculiar wooden fragrance filled the room.

As they smelled the wood fragrance, everyone felt refreshed.

Cro squinted his eyes in enjoyment.

This sensation felt like his magical power was being channeled, no longer aimlessly darting around, but flowing through his body in a regulated manner.

He felt that the spells he was casting now were at least thirty percent stronger than before!

"Oh, another perfect match! Merlin's beard, today is truly fantastic, simply fantastic!"

Ollivander clapped his hands excitedly.

"You two must take good care of your wands; they are not mere tools, but partners in your battles!"

Ollivander said seriously, warning them.

As a master wandmaker, he despised those who carelessly damaged wands.

Of course, accidents didn't count.
