Chapter 44 - Sorry Sir

While this was the border, there was no real border but rather just checkpoints here and there.

Drifus already got the green insignia from the first checkpoint so there was no real need to explain anything to the other checkpoints. Though they were still stopped every now and then and asked some random questions by patrolling horsemen.

"I expected this place to be a bit more… civilized," Lenora said, staring the elven village in the distance. Sweaty all over. It was getting hard to breathe.

Hay roofs, earthen domes, and one or two brick and stone house. Still at least fifteen minutes away.

"We love nature. Some of us, more so than others."

"Just move to a forest then," Lenora snorted walking ahead. Her panting was getting a tad audible.

"We do live in a forest," Drifus said. "You should see more or our northern cities."

Knee-high grass. Insects buzzed constantly.
