Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Why was the man killed instead of her?

In that instant, she felt guilty for causing the man's death.

Miranda sat in one position, staring the elderly, lifeless body on the dirt ground. She planned for her death, but it seemed she had dragged someone else into her misery.

Prince Erian watched for a while, then walked past her and went to sit in the chair set for him. From there, Miranda's back stared at him. He called upon the maid, who went and poured a drink on his glass.

"Why did you kill him?" Miranda muttered, turning slowly to face Prince Erian, her eyes watering with tears.

"I'm the one who broke that your bow; that man had nothing to do with it. You should have killed me, so why did you kill him?" She yelled. Prince Erian's bodyguard found Miranda being aggressive instead of humbling herself to his highness.

So pointed the same sword that killed the elderly man to her throat, but Miranda didn't flinch as if she weren't afraid of death. Prince Erian noticed it too how Miranda was unflinching; he smirked and raised his hands to tell his bodyguard to let her be, then he stated.

"You heard the man; he declared himself to have neglected his own work. If he had focused on his work, you wouldn't have done what you have done," he uttered.

Miranda felt speechless, so this was the reason he killed the poor elderly man. No matter how much she put her mind to it, the man was innocent enough to deserve such punishment; it was her fault and hers alone to bear.

"Now tell me why you broke my bow intentionally." His voice raised as he demanded.

Miranda smirked, since he had shown her how powerful he was and he played his game on her. Then she will do the same.

"For what reason if it's not the reason as now? I hate you, your highness. You are a dispicable man; you don't value one's life or heart. And yet, you claim to have kept the one thing resembling your love. The ones who love know the value of life. And you don't deserve that love," she spoke bitterly.

Prince Erian was a character she had created in her novel; everything about him described him as a horrible man. Even though she had created him, and these words were the words she wanted to tell him once he had seen him in real life. And now she had that chance before her, and her heart hurts, so what would stop her from saying that?

Prince Erian didn't expect the words to have hurt him that much; in fact, he was reluctantly shocked by the odessity of the maid questioning his integrity. The value of life and his own love, the maid didn't look as simple as she looked in front of him. Her hair was dark, rich brown of chestnut, and her green eyes glared deep at him.

She was beautiful, with a round face, a high cheekbone, and a determined jawline. Such a pity, he wasn't going to keep her.

He didn't understand why he felt so unsettled with that woman; she looked no ordinary. With the way she spoke, it seemed she was more than enough to let out that judgment. But just because she was impressive in front of him, it didn't mean that he wouldn't punish her for breaking his bow.

Prince Erian chuckled when he thought of great punishment. "You think great about values of life and love; impressive. However, since you admit to breaking my bow, you deserve punishment. And I have the right punishment."

Miranda closed her eyes when she heard that; that was it. She was going to be sent to death. At least she won't have to see this prince any more. But when Prince Erian spoke his judgment, her heart shuttered.

"You will be sold to brothels; live your life as a woman who pressures men, and never ever would you ever experience the value of love." Miranda's heart shattered after hearing that.

Prince Erian was worse than she had imagined him to be; his words struck her more than she could imagine. Her hope of dying seemed to be failing, but she wouldn't let herself experience such an insult.

When she was dragged by two guards, she fought back. No, she didn't want to believe that this was how her life was going to end. Inside the brothel she will die, yes, but after being taken of her innocent and torn apart with men.

She fought for her freedom from the guards, and when successful got off the grip of the guard, she ran in front of Prince Erian. Her body to her knees, head on the floor, she had to humble herself before muttering.

"You need me," she said. Prince Erian was at the front, smirking. When Miranda received no response, she raised her head and face. Prince Erian

"I know you are fighting for the throne against your brother Kael, but that throne isn't yours to begin with. It has always been for Kael, but if you keep me, I will make sure you sit on that throne," she said.

Prince Erian was shocked to hear that; he didn't expect the woman to go so far as to say out his secret of wanting the throne. And everyone that heard that in the hunting ground, even the maids, started to mumble to themselves. Moreover, Prince Erian felt fear gripping in him for the first time in his life. The fear of being called rebellion for going after the throne—those words were more like a thorn to him than they were supposed to be words of encouragement to make him rise up from his chair with hysteria.

Just as he predicted, this woman was a destruction for him; she wasn't his well wisher but but a thorne. Keeping her alive was dangerous to himself.

Before he could say anything, Miranda spoke again. "If you don't trust me, I can only tell you this. I know everything there is to know about Prince Kael, everything. There's no one in the world who could guarantee you that throne, only me."

Prince Erian glared at her, then said. "Don't sell her at the brothel; kill her that she should never reincarnate again," he said when he walked out of that place.

Miranda was dragged by the guards; this time she was going to be killed.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the hunting ground, two men were seen standing, watching the show unfold from beginning to end. A man in black attire was Prince Kael, and the other man was his right man; they had been there watching secretly since the elderly man was killed.

But when the maid declared she would help Erian to get the thrones, Prince Kael was intrigued by her; in fact, it shocked him how she claimed to have known him more than anyone.

"Your highness, what should we do?" Said the man beside Prince Kael.

"Abel, bring that woman to me alive" when he said that he left.
