As she was thinking, the door of the hall opened.
Two young men walked inside the hall, one of them looked young, in his twenties or nineteen, as he had a small body and light brown, messy, and molded hair. His eyes were bright blue with a mischievous spark on them, and as he gazed into the hall, he was filled with excitement. The other man was older. Miranda guessed he might be his late twenty or thirty, but his attractiveness caught her by surprise.
He was tall, lean, and handsome. His eyes differed from the younger man, his eyes were brown so deep they could pierce into Miranda's heart. He had chiseled jawline, prominent cheekbones, and a small scar above his left eyebrow, there was no way Miranda saw that!
Miranda was left amazed when the two brothers entered; she then realized, as an author, she well detailed those two brothers like a novel character. So perfect, like a novel, it was one of the things that surprised her, and mostly the descriptions of these two brothers were so familiar.
To her, she felt like she was staring at a certain novel character out there.
"Wow!" said the young "This is amazing!" exclaimed the young man. The older one just smiled at his brother.
"It's all for you, Thane. You deserve it; it's your twentieth birthday," said the older brother.
Miranda caught the name Thane as the younger man's name, she eagerly waited for the name of the older man to be mentioned, but no name came after.
"Thanks. I hope mom and dad will be joining us today," Thane said, his face going down frowning.
His older brother patted his shoulder as in assuring him. "They will be here; today the whole family will be here.
Miranda stood there admiring the two brothers loving affection for each other. It was something that she never experienced; she was the only child to her parents and family, she never experienced the love of a sibling. Even the parents affection rarely came to her like rain in the winter season.
Then, the door opened again; this time not two but four people walked inside the hall. A tall young man pushed the wheelchair of a fair, skinny man who sat on the wheelchair; his skin was pale, and his eyes too were pale blue. The man who pushed was a little younger than a man who sat on the wheelchair, he was more handsome, and he was rugged. His eyes were piercing blue, with deep lines and wisdom, and his hair was dark brown. He looked elegant with his black attire, showing him a different course than anyone.
The rest two people behind those two men were two old couples holding each other's hands. Miranda could see where these young men got the blue eyes and the prominent cheekbones, it was from the old man in front of her eyes. Only the woman had brown eyes and resembled the second man she saw. Instantly Miranda understood this was the whole family of this mansion.
"Father, Mother. You came?" Thane exclaimed, ran to his parents, and shared a hug with them.
"Of course, child. No matter how busy we are, we can't simply miss your twentieth birthday," said the old woman, her hand brushed Thane's hair gently with a smile on her face.
"And I didn't want to miss it too, even if I'm on my deathbed," said the man in the wheelchair; his voice was frankly as he smiled at his little brother.
"Now that everyone is here, why don't we just start the celebration?" said the man with brown eyes. His attention was on his family.
When everyone was seated, Miranda followed the other maids with serving. She served the wine to the man in black attire. He looked flauntless as he ate quietly, and when she was done serving the wine, she stood aside like every maid in there.
"I have prepared more than a family dinner today," said the man in brown eyes. "After we are done, we will have plays, musical performances, and games too. What do you think, Thane?"
Thane looked overly excited by the idea because of the wide smile displayed on his face.
The older woman smiled. "That's good; I like the fact you take great care of your younger brother. And I like the idea of us as family spending this time together. Isn't that right, dear?" The older woman looked at her husband when she asked.
The older man nodded in response and said. "Indeed, national matters are so overwhelming that I don't get a chance to spend time with my family."
"With that being said, I think I would have to see the play that you prepared, Erian," said the man on the wheelchair, looking at the man with brown eyes.
Erian? Miranda was shocked to hear the name looked up to the man in brown, but when her eyes met the man in black attire, she looked down, that's when her mind started racing with thought. But before she could put her thoughts together, a voice was heard; for the first time, the man in black attire spoke.
"I don't think I will stay for the play," he spoke. He looked around his family, who displayed silence to their response.
"You don't find my preparation pleasing, Kael?"
This time Miranda almost fainted when she heard the name Kael; instead, her gaze fixed on the man in black like a magnet. What was going on? Was the only question she could ask herself.
Everyone at the table went quite as if expecting Kael to say something. "That's not the reason. I appreciate you bringing us to this table and dinner, celebrating Thane's birthday. But I still have matter to attend to in my own manor." Explained Kael, his gaze focused at Erian.
"What could be more important?" Asked Erian, Miranda knew this was not going to end well. Of course she knows what will happen next.
What was more surprising to her was that everything was starting to become clear to her. Terre Verde manor was the name of the manor where Erian lived, the antanogist of her novel Forgotten Melody, who is always against Kael. And Kael, her favorite character, was the protagonist of her story, and she was staring at him.
But how? How was this possible? Was she really dreaming?
"Enough! If Kael has something to attend, it doesn't matter. We still continue with your preparation," spoke the older man, whom Miranda assumed to be King Thorold Valorian.
And the older woman on his left should be Queen Lirien, and the man in the wheelchair was Asher, the first prince of Valtoria, who has been weak in health since birth. Kael was the second prince, Erian the third, and Thane was fourth. This was the royal family of the Valtorian kingdom in her novel.
And this scene, the fourth prince birthday, she remembered it; it has been three years, but she remembered it clearly.
She was in her novel...
Whether it's a dream or the true harsh reality,.
As a maid...
