He also gave the command to his Onix without hesitation.

"Onix, Rock Throw!"

"Ouch!"

Following its command, sharp rocks suddenly materialized on the ground, then exploded upwards toward the Pidgeot soaring in the sky.

Facing such an attack, sparks suddenly lit up around Pidgeot's body.

The next moment—

"Swish, swish, swish!"

Pidgeot swiftly weaved through the sharp stones flying toward it with ease, dodging the attack effortlessly. Then, with incredible speed, it dove directly toward Onix. Its wings, sharp as blades, slashed through the air, striking Onix with precision.

"Roar!"

Onix let out a painful cry as the attack landed.

"So fast!"

Collin's pupils contracted in surprise as he watched. The speed of this Pidgeot was incredible.

After landing the attack, Pidgeot quickly ascended back into the sky. Flapping its wings, it unleashed a barrage of densely packed Air Cutters toward the Onix below.

"Onix, Dig!"

Hearing its trainer's command, Onix burrowed into the ground, narrowly evading the assault.

"Boom, boom, boom!"

The Air Cutters struck the ground where Onix had stood, creating a roar and sending debris flying.

Seeing Onix retreat underground, Pidgeot's sharp eyes focused with even greater intensity.

"Onix, Smack Down!"

As Pidgeot kept its guard up, Collin issued another command. Onix erupted from the ground, hurling stones one by one into the air. Each projectile seemed poised to bring Pidgeot crashing down, turning it into an easy target.

But Evan's Pidgeot was no ordinary opponent. Onix? There was one in the mountains behind Evan's house. Gallade had even forced it to train by fighting Onix in the past, so it was well-prepared for this scenario.

Rather than dodging, Pidgeot reacted by folding its wings and illuminating its body with a radiant golden light.

"Pidge!"

A sharp cry echoed from Pidgeot as it accelerated like a missile, rocketing downward.

Seeing this, Collin's expression changed drastically.

"Get out of the way!"

But it was too late.

Energy radiating from Pidgeot formed a massive, phoenix-like apparition as it descended from the sky, shattering the stones in its path and slamming directly into Onix.

"Boom!"

Pidgeot executed its ultimate Flying-type move, Brave Bird, with devastating effect. The collision triggered a massive explosion, shaking the entire gym.

Collin, the Gym Leader, clicked his tongue in amazement as he watched. This Pidgeot was relentless.

"Was it Gallade's command, or is this its independent strategy?" he wondered aloud, glancing at the Gallade. Noting nothing unusual about its demeanor, he concluded it must be Pidgeot's innate battle instinct.

"Impressive."

Returning his gaze to the battlefield, he couldn't help but marvel at the scene before him.

The explosion sent up a dense cloud of smoke.

As the smoke cleared, Pidgeot was revealed, crouched on the ground. Its body appeared slightly stiff, a clear side effect of using Brave Bird. After shaking its head and scattering the dust from its feathers, Pidgeot turned to the other side of the field.

Onix was already down, sprawled out comfortably as if taking a nap. Pidgeot seemed rather proud of this outcome.

Once the side effects of its powerful attack wore off, Pidgeot launched itself into the air, its sharp eyes locking directly onto Collin. The message in its gaze was unmistakable: Hurry up and fight!

Collin sighed, speechless but impressed. He quickly reached for his second Poké Ball.

"Your strength is impressive," he remarked. "But don't get too confident. If you think the first match was tough, the next one won't be any easier."

With that, he threw the Poké Ball into the air. A flash of light revealed his next Pokémon—a gray, pterosaur-like creature with jagged wings.

"Aerodactyl!"

The ancient Pokémon let out a powerful cry, its presence radiating an oppressive energy. Revived from fossils due to advancements in technology, Aerodactyl was a force to be reckoned with.

Feeling Aerodactyl's overwhelming aura, Pidgeot's eyes sharpened. It recognized the challenge. This opponent wasn't just strong—it was on par with its own strength, perhaps even touching the quasi-Elite level. There was no room for error here.

Gallade, standing nearby, grew serious. Using a Pokémon of this caliber so soon? Gym challenges truly escalated quickly. Gallade thought of Evan's words: Each battle is tougher than the last.

Turning its attention to Pidgeot, Gallade gave a warning, its tone firm. "Give it your all. If you lose… your sister will definitely punish you."

Hearing this, Pidgeot flinched. A sense of impending doom swept over it. Big crisis. Huge crisis. There was no choice but to fight with everything it had. Losing was not an option.

Collin smirked and made the first move. "Aerodactyl, Agility, then Fire Fang!"

Aerodactyl roared, its speed doubling in an instant as flames gathered in its mouth. It lunged at Pidgeot, aiming to sink its fiery fangs into its opponent.

Pidgeot, however, reacted with its usual swiftness, darting away with incredible speed. A game of aerial pursuit ensued, the two Pokémon zigzagging through the air in a high-speed chase. Pidgeot's philosophy was clear: If you can't catch me, your attack doesn't matter.

But Pidgeot underestimated Aerodactyl's instincts. Seeing that it couldn't catch up, Aerodactyl acted without waiting for a command, using Rock Tomb to disrupt Pidgeot's flight path. Stones materialized mid-air, forcing Pidgeot to slow down and maneuver carefully to dodge them.

This created an opening. Aerodactyl accelerated sharply, closing the distance and attempting to clamp down on Pidgeot's wing with its powerful jaws.

Pidgeot's pupils contracted in alarm. It let out a fierce cry and countered with Steel Wing. Its metallic wings struck Aerodactyl's jaws mid-attack.

"Bang!"

The clash sent shockwaves through the air. Aerodactyl's teeth scraped against Pidgeot's steel-enhanced wings, the force nearly causing both Pokémon to recoil in pain. Aerodactyl roared in frustration, its feral instincts igniting.

After being pushed back, Aerodactyl grew even more enraged. A bloodthirsty glint flashed in its eyes as its predatory nature fully awakened. Collin, observing the shift in its demeanor, decided to let Aerodactyl fight freely.

"This is your battle now. Show me what you're capable of," he murmured with anticipation, watching as Aerodactyl's primal ferocity surged to the forefront.
