Chapter 55 - 53. High School students(Part 1)

Two female high school students suddenly entered Evan's breeding house.

This surprised Evan.

"Are they passing Trainers? Or someone else?" he wondered.

"Um, hello," one of the girls began hesitantly.

"We're here for summer camp."

"Then we saw a breeding house here and came over."

"Excuse me, do you sell energy cubes here? We'd like to buy some," the other added.

Hearing their explanation, Evan suddenly understood.

"If you need energy cubes," he said, "you'll have to go to the orphanage nearby. They're the ones selling energy cubes."

He gestured toward the direction of the orphanage. "They put up a signboard, didn't they? Haven't you noticed it?"

The two girls exchanged stunned glances.

"Orphanage?" one of them asked.

"You mean the one not far from here?" the other added.

Evan nodded.

"Hmm... but isn't this a breeding house?" one asked, confused.

Although they had seen the orphanage, they hadn't paid it much attention. Instead, their curiosity led them to Evan's breeding house, assuming it would sell energy cubes.

Evan gave a helpless laugh.

"I only sell customized energy cubes and offer Pokémon care services. If you're looking for standard energy cubes, you'll need to head to the orphanage. Their shop is already open, and some of the staff are there to help."

He added, "All their energy cubes come from Morning Sun."

The two finally understood the situation after Evan's patient explanation.

"I see. All right then," one of the girls said. "But... customized energy cubes? That sounds interesting."

"My name is Evan. Just call me by my name," Evan interjected.

"Okay, Boss Evan," one of them replied with a grin.

"Can we know more about your services here? We've recently received our certificates and have our own starter Pokémon."

"I heard the customized energy cubes here are better than what you find elsewhere. Would it be okay to learn more about them?"

Sensing a potential business opportunity, Evan welcomed them warmly.

"Please, have a seat," he said, gesturing to the nearby sofa.

he poured them glasses of water while Gallade, who stood nearby, observed silently, noting the interaction for future reference.

After they settled in, Evan began to explain.

"My breeding house is newly opened and currently offers two main services: Pokémon hosting and customized energy cubes."

"Pokémon hosting means I take care of your Pokémon or train it to reach a certain level."

"Customized energy cubes are tailored specifically for your Pokémon to suit its unique needs."

Evan explained his services clearly, omitting any mention of selling Pokémon eggs or adopting starter Pokémon, as those services weren't available yet.

The girls nodded, intrigued, and one asked, "If I want to customize an energy cube, what's the price?"

"I need an intermediate energy cube, not just a universal one," she added.

Evan smiled. "It depends on your Pokémon. The price varies depending on the species, as some Pokémon require more ingredients to make their energy cubes."

One of them quickly replied, "Mine is Eevee, and I want an intermediate energy cube."

"And mine's Snivy," the other said. "I'd like to know the price for that too."

Evan considered their requests.

"Eevee and Snivy, huh? A starter and an Eevee. These aren't the kind of Pokémon you'd usually see outside specialized homes or wealthier families," Evan thought.

Turning his attention back to the girls, he said, "For Eevee, the type of energy cube depends on what you plan to evolve it into. Eevee has multiple evolution types, and each one requires a different recipe for energy cubes. But the prices are fairly consistent."

"Can you tell me what your Eevee is going to evolve into?" he asked.

Hearing this, the girl with Eevee lit up with excitement. This was clearly a question she had been waiting for.

Major choices awaited!

It's not that she hadn't visited other breeding houses before. Most of them wouldn't bother with this level of detail—instead, they'd simply recommend various pre-made energy cubes that, while useful, lacked the personalization offered here.

But Evan was different. He even factored in Eevee's potential evolution, ensuring the energy cubes were perfectly tailored to the desired form. The choice was entirely up to the customer, giving them control over their Pokémon's diet and training.

The girl didn't hesitate and made her request clear.

"Sylveon! My Eevee is going to evolve into Sylveon. How much does a customized energy cube cost for that?"

Her voice was brimming with excitement. She hadn't expected to find such specialized care while out on a casual visit.

Evan paused to think before replying, "For Sylveon, the cost is 150,000 yuan per month, assuming 30 days of feeding with three meals a day. That's roughly 5,000 yuan per day. The price is higher than standard intermediate energy cubes, which usually cost about 3,000 yuan daily, but these are customized specifically for Sylveon's needs.

"If you need it, just let me know."

Though more expensive than market prices, Evan's tailored approach ensured higher quality and effectiveness, especially compared to low-level cubes. Judging by the girl's demeanor, it was clear she wouldn't settle for less.

Without hesitation, the girl nodded. "Boss, please make it for me!"

Evan smiled and turned to the other young lady, whose Snivy waited by her side.

"Now, about your Snivy," Evan began. "It would thrive on grass-type exclusive energy cubes. If you want to customize them, I can make sure they're better than the ones on the market, and the price will remain comparable. Since Snivy is a pure grass type, regardless of its evolution, the customization is straightforward."

Evan elaborated, "These energy cubes will significantly enhance Snivy's grass-type moves and boost its stamina. If you're interested, I can also create more advanced energy cubes, but they'll cost more."

Then Evan suddenly remembered something.

"Oh, hold on a minute," he said, excusing herself and heading upstairs.

The two girls exchanged confused glances.

"What's going on?" one murmured.

After a short while, Evan returned with a senior breeder certificate and several patent certificates in hand. He laid them on the table with a calm confidence.

"Here's my certificate," Evan said. "And these are patents for some of the energy cube formulas I've developed. Not all of my formulas are registered, but these should prove that everything I said is legitimate. This isn't one of those shady breeding houses trying to pass off inferior goods."

The girls were taken aback.

Evan's achievements spoke for themselves. At such a young age, he already owned a breeding house, held patents, and was certified as a senior breeder. His professionalism was evident, and his certificates made a strong impression.

"I can't believe he's accomplished so much already," one of the girls thought, marveling at Evan's dedication and skill.

Though they hadn't doubted Evan's abilities before, seeing the official documents erased any lingering skepticism.

The two girls nodded, fully convinced, and decided to proceed without hesitation.

When they first entered the breeding house, they'd only intended to buy some energy cubes. But discovering the option for customized cubes was a welcome surprise—and an opportunity they wouldn't pass up.

"Boss Evan," the girl with Eevee said, her tone brimming with excitement.

"I'll take Sylveon's exclusive intermediate energy cubes for a month. Hehe, if it works well, I'll keep coming back!"

The girl with Snivy nodded enthusiastically.

"Same here. I'd like the exclusive grass-type energy cubes. I'll leave it to you."

Hearing their requests, Evan smiled and nodded.

"Good. Then let's get started with the process. First, we'll need to sign a contract, and you'll pay a deposit."

Evan explained the rules clearly.

"You'll pay part of the cost upfront as a deposit. Once the energy cubes are ready, you can come back, pay the balance, and pick up your order."

Both girls agreed without hesitation. This was standard practice in many breeding houses.

Evan retrieved a couple of contract agreements and carefully filled in the details: the requested energy cubes, their specifications, and the prices.

The two girls reviewed the documents seriously. After confirming everything was just a standard entrustment agreement, they signed their names without hesitation.

Once the contracts were signed, they turned to Evan.

"Where do we pay?" one of them asked, already reaching for her phone.

Evan smiled and held up his phone with the payment code displayed.

"The deposit is 20,000 yuan per order, just to cover material costs."

Without hesitation, the girls scanned the code and transferred the funds.

After completing the payment, the girl with Eevee asked eagerly,

"Boss Evan, when will the energy cubes be ready?"

Evan glanced at the time and replied,

"I can have them ready for you later today if you're in a hurry, but if it's more convenient, you can pick them up tomorrow."

The girls exchanged a quick look and nodded.

"Tomorrow's fine. Our summer camp is nearby, and we have other activities planned for today. We'll come by to collect them tomorrow."

Evan smiled.

"Perfect. Come by tomorrow, and I'll have everything ready for you."

The two girls thanked Evan and bid him goodbye before heading toward the nearby orphanage. They wanted to buy some energy cubes for their Pokémon to use in the meantime.

As they approached the orphanage, they noticed several of their classmates gathered outside.

"Where have you two been?" one of their friends called out. "There are energy cubes for sale here—why'd you go somewhere else?"

The girl with Eevee beamed with excitement.

"We went to a breeding house! We ordered customized energy cubes!"

"Customized energy cubes?" another classmate asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah!" she replied enthusiastically. "The breeder there is amazing. He's a senior-level breeder who can tailor energy cubes for specific Pokémon. When I told him my Eevee was evolving into Sylveon, he instantly created a plan for me!"

Her classmates listened intently, intrigued by her story. However, some of them hesitated.

That breeding house? It sounded impressive, but customized energy cubes weren't cheap. Not everyone had the money for such luxury.

Still, a few of them exchanged curious glances. For those who could afford it, this might be worth checking out.

"Common folks like us should just stick to the regular energy cubes on the market for now," one of the classmates said with a sigh. "Let's wait until we have more money to afford those customized ones."

With that, the two girls didn't linger. They turned their attention to selecting energy cubes from the orphanage.

Aunt Jenn, who managed the shop, was delighted to see so many customers. Though Trainers often passed by, few actually came in to buy. Today's influx of customers was an unexpected blessing, filling her with happiness.

Meanwhile, back at the breeding house, Evan was unaware of the bustling activity at the orphanage. Instead, he had turned his focus to fulfilling the new orders.

In the workshop, Evan addressed his team.

"Alright, we've got a new order—two intermediate energy cubes. Get ready to start."

His announcement caught the team by surprise.

"An order already?" Isla asked, puzzled. "What's going on? Why the sudden orders?"

Evan smiled and held up the signed contracts.

"There's a summer camp nearby. Lots of students are passing through. Two girls stopped by and placed an order for customized energy cubes."

He handed the contracts to his team.

"These need to be ready for tomorrow. Let's get started now. You'll also be learning these intermediate energy cube recipes, so in the future, you can handle these orders yourselves."

Excitement lit up their faces. Being taught by Evan was a rare opportunity, and all three of them were eager to learn.

Evan had his reasons for sharing his expertise. Handling every single order himself wasn't sustainable, especially with increasing demand. Teaching his team basic recipes would not only improve efficiency but also prepare them for managing future orders.

Of course, Evan still planned to patent the formulas he taught. Once those patents were secured, he would create a full set of recipes for intermediate energy cubes tailored to various Pokémon types. By training his team to handle these, Evan could focus on more advanced work without worrying about every small order.

For now, he gathered the necessary berries and ingredients and began instructing his team.

"We'll start with these two recipes," he said. "Watch carefully, and assist where needed."

The team observed closely as Evan demonstrated the process. He explained the importance of precise measurements, ingredient combinations, and timing. Watching his work was an entirely different experience from trying to learn by observation alone.

By late afternoon, the two energy cubes were ready. They packed the cubes carefully, ensuring they were properly labeled and stored.

As they worked, the Pokémon in the breeding house began to gather outside for their evening meal. Gallade left the workshop to join Gardevoir, both enjoying their energy cubes together.

Just as Evan was about to join his team for dinner, Violet arrived at the breeding house, looking visibly tired.

"I thought you guys would've closed by now," Violet said as she stepped inside.

Evan blinked in surprise.

"You're just now picking up your energy cubes? I sent you a message at noon that they were ready. What kept you so busy?"

Violet nodded wearily.

"Yeah, it's been a hectic day. Where's my order?"

She clearly didn't want to elaborate, and Evan didn't press her.

"Follow me," Evan said, leading Violet to retrieve her energy cubes.

It was a long day for everyone, but with satisfied customers and his team making progress, Evan felt confident his breeding house was on the right track.
