Evan and Shiny Metagross exchanged a glance before quickly looking away.
Violet spoke directly at this moment:
"Metagross, go and see if these energy cubes suit you."
"You all should go too," she added to the other Pokémon.
"If they're a good fit, I'll order more."
Hearing her instructions, the Pokémon stepped forward.
Evan watched this without much concern, but he made sure to tell the Pokémon that the energy cubes were meant for them. Once they understood, the Pokémon eagerly started sampling the cubes.
Seeing their excitement as they opened the box, Violet quickly realized how much her Pokémon loved the energy cubes.
Without hesitation, she turned to Evan and said,
"Evan, I'll need more energy cubes. Order me another three months' worth."
Noticing how happy the Pokémon were, Violet felt assured that these energy cubes were perfect for them. She thought, Otherwise, my Pokémon wouldn't show such enthusiasm.
Hearing her request, Evan smirked and replied,
"There's no rush for now. The energy cubes you have should last for a month. I'll let you know when I've prepared more."
Does she really need that many energy cubes? Evan thought to himself. She's definitely got deep pockets.
Violet nodded in agreement. "That makes sense. I'll come back to pick up more when I run out."
Then, as if confirming her commitment, she added,
"Make sure to prepare them for me, okay? I'll transfer the payment shortly. Just stick to the prices you've set—I won't be providing the materials. I trust you can source them yourself."
Evan nodded.
"Not a problem. I'll get it done. If I run into any issues finding the materials, I'll ask Sophia for help."
Another major business deal, Evan mused. Have I hit financial freedom already?
He did some quick calculations: one month's worth of energy cubes cost 3 million Pokédollars. For six Pokémon, that totaled 18 million per month. Over three months, the cost exceeded 50 million.
What an extravagant expense, he thought. Good thing I'm the one profiting from it.
Feeling pleased with the situation, Evan sighed contentedly.
Once Violet placed the order, she called someone over to load the energy cubes into her car. Meanwhile, Evan returned to his room to prepare a contract. After quickly noting the amount and items, he handed it to Violet for her signature.
Without hesitation, Violet signed her name and handed it back to Evan.
"Thanks, Evan," she said, before preparing to leave. "I need to get back to training my Pokémon now."
She waved and added,
"Evan, Sophia, see you later!"
With that, she recalled the Pokémon who had finished eating and left.
Obviously, Violet had more pressing matters to attend to, so she didn't linger at Evan's place for long.
Evan didn't mind. After all, the contract was signed, and he had already secured a lucrative new order.
"Sophia, congratulations," he said with a smile. "There's another big payday on the way."
Hearing Evan's words, Sophia smiled back.
"It's all thanks to you, Evan. You deserve most of the credit for this."
Evan handed the contract to Isla, who was standing nearby. Isla accepted it and began flipping through the pages.
When her eyes landed on the total amount, they widened in shock.
Although Luna knew top-tier energy cubes were pricey, she hadn't expected them to be this expensive.
"This is already in the millions?" she muttered, astonished. No wonder ordinary people can't afford these high-grade energy cubes.
Startled by the sheer cost, Isla's reaction caught the attention of the other two assistants, who immediately peeked at the contract.
"So...so expensive!!" gasped Daniel, her voice filled with disbelief.
"Are top-tier energy cubes really this costly?" Michael added, his eyes filled with confusion.
Seeing their reactions, Evan rolled his eyes in exasperation.
"Relax, will you? Stop acting like you've never seen the world before," he teased.
Then, turning to Sophia, he continued,
"You don't need to sign your contract this time. Just come by the day after tomorrow to pick up the energy cubes."
After gently chiding his assistants, Evan shifted the conversation back to Sophia.
Sophia nodded in agreement.
"Got it. I'll transfer the payment then. By the way, Evan, you should start gathering materials tomorrow. Do you want me to recommend a few suppliers? I can help you get some really good deals."
Although Evan had initially said he didn't need help sourcing materials, Sophia was still eager to lend a hand.
This time, Evan didn't turn her down.
If Sophia had someone she knew among the merchants, things would indeed become much smoother and more convenient.
Seeing Evan nod in agreement, Sophia immediately took out her phone and started pulling all the berry merchants she had contacts with into a group chat. She added Evan to the group as well.
After finishing, Sophia turned to Evan and said,
"I've added them all to the group chat. If you need anything, just let them know directly in the group."
Evan pulled out his phone to check the group, noticing that the berry merchants were already enthusiastically greeting Sophia.
Seeing the flurry of messages, Evan's eyes briefly lit up with surprise. A bunch of sycophants, he thought to himself, smirking inwardly.
But considering Sophia's background, it made sense.
Sophia then sent a large red envelope in the group to grab everyone's attention. She followed it by tagging Evan directly and explaining why she had added them.
Sophia:
[Dear merchants, wishing you all booming business!]
[@Evan, this is my senior. He runs a breeding house and needs a lot of berries and supplies.]
[Please make sure to offer him some good discounts.]
[By the way, Evan is a master breeder, so he'll likely require plenty of items.]
The berry merchants were shocked at Sophia's message.
Master breeder?
Was it true?
Clicking on Evan's profile revealed no information, but they didn't dwell on it. After all, considering Sophia's influential family, she wouldn't make such claims lightly. If she said Evan was a master breeder, it had to be true.
With this in mind, the merchants began sending warm greetings to Evan, one after another.
Seeing their responses, Evan touched his chin thoughtfully and turned to Sophia.
"Sophia, you're incredibly helpful," he said with a smile. "I'll chat with them for now and stop by their stores tomorrow to check things out. A lot of these merchants seem to be from the wholesale market. Some of their store names sound pretty familiar."
Indeed, the usernames in the group chat matched the names of several berry shops that Evan vaguely remembered.
Visiting the stores in person will make negotiations much easier, he thought.
It was clear that Sophia had been deliberate in choosing which merchants to include. She hadn't just gathered random sellers—each one seemed to have something to offer that aligned with Evan's needs.
What a thoughtful and resourceful girl, Evan mused, feeling a sense of gratitude for Sophia's effort.
