SALVADOR'S POV:
We sat down beside Laila, and I placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Dear, you're not going to get anywhere by daydreaming. If you want something, dream about it at night and work towards it in the morning."
Laila sighed and covered her face with her hand. "When am I going to get married?" she asked, her voice tinged with frustration.
I offered her a gentle smile. "I'm trying to find a good guy for you, someone who will love and take care of you."
Laila shook her head, her expression turning somber. "No one wants to be with a woman whose brother and father are...you know, dons."
My smile faltered, and I felt a pang of regret. Jerry, sensing the tension, held up a finger and said, "Stop it, Auntie! You're disrespecting Uncle!"
I smiled and kissed Jerry's head. "She's telling the truth, buddy."
