SUZANA'S POV:
I wiped the last bit of dust from the dresser in room 204, admiring my handiwork. The rooms were spotless, each one a little sanctuary for the weary travelers who would soon return after a long day. I glanced at the clock on the wall and blinked in surprise; it was already lunchtime. Where had the morning gone?
Shaking my head to clear my thoughts, I picked up my phone and headed to the cafeteria, my stomach rumbling in anticipation of the smells wafting through the air. I dialed my father's number as I walked.
"Hey, Dad! Just wanted to let you know that I'll be late tonight," I said, trying to keep my tone light despite the busyness swirling around me. "The hotel owner is coming over, and there's a party, so I'll have to stay back to help."
His warm voice crackled through the phone. "That's alright, Suzana. Just be safe out there, okay? I don't want you getting caught up in any craziness."
