"This... what is this place? Why am I here?"
The sensation of weightlessness made Michael a little uncomfortable, and he felt disoriented, looking at the blurry environment around him.
There were flames and explosions one after another. It seemed as though something was flying quickly through the air, glowing brightly, and the sounds of intense fighting echoed in the distance.
"Wait a minute, is that... Iron Man?"
Michael's eyes widened in recognition as he saw numerous Iron Man suits flying in the air. The scene felt eerily familiar. This looked like the final battle from *Iron Man 3* when the suits exploded one after another. Michael had felt disappointed when he saw that scene in the movie.
"Ah..."
Suddenly, Michael clutched his head as a wave of searing pain coursed through his mind. It felt as if something was forcefully trying to merge with his thoughts. After a few moments, the excruciating pain subsided. He gasped for breath, but a smile of surprise and excitement crept across his face.
"I can't believe it... I've traveled into the Marvel universe and even obtained a system!" Just moments ago, a mechanized voice had sounded in his head, identifying itself as the "King System" and briefly explaining the situation to him.
Michael didn't know why or how he had ended up in the Marvel world, but he had been granted the King System. This system was dedicated to cultivating the strongest king. Although it could offer various support functions, becoming the king ultimately depended on his own efforts.
As a regular person thrown into the Marvel universe, where superheroes and supervillains roamed freely, becoming the king seemed like a far-fetched dream. Luckily, he wasn't completely helpless.
His body had changed.
Although he looked the same as before, according to the system, his physique had undergone a transformation when he crossed over into this world.
He now possessed the ability to absorb and stabilize!
In simple terms, he could assimilate any power or ability without worrying about stability or fusion issues. His body would automatically stabilize and perfect any ability he acquired, no matter how dangerous it might be.
This was an incredible advantage!
In the Marvel world, there were countless powers like the super-soldier serum, the Hulk serum, the Extremis virus, and the Centipede serum. While these gave tremendous strength, they also came with major flaws, risks, and side effects. But Michael's body could completely bypass those issues.
There were even greater powers out there, like those possessed by the X-Men or even Thor!
The key was whether he had the ability to acquire them!
At the moment, the Battle of New York had already ended, meaning the Avengers had formed, and the events of *Iron Man 3* were wrapping up. Gaining access to these powerful abilities wasn't going to be easy.
Michael felt a bit frustrated. Why did he have to arrive at this point in the timeline? But then again, it didn't really matter. The Marvel universe was full of powers and opportunities. Without heroes and challenges, wouldn't the road to becoming a king be a bit dull?
However, now was not the time to dwell on those thoughts. He was near the battle between Iron Man and Aldrich Killian. Either Iron Man, the villain Killian, or one of his self-destructing Extremis-enhanced soldiers could kill him in an instant!
Michael quickly found a place to hide, observing the ongoing battle while calculating how to get his hands on the Extremis virus.
Yes, the Extremis virus!
It was an extraordinary enhancement, offering super healing, enhanced strength, and the ability to breathe fire. It was far superior to the super-soldier serum given to Captain America. With the Extremis virus, he wouldn't need to worry about injuries or death, and he could also manipulate fire.
Of course, the virus came with serious risks. The success rate was low, and failed subjects exploded.
If his body didn't have the ability to stabilize everything, Michael wouldn't have even considered the Extremis virus. Trying to inject it would have been suicidal.
Bang!*
A loud noise echoed in the distance, the sound of an Iron Man suit exploding.
Michael could see Tony Stark sitting on the ground, looking disheveled. It seemed like Killian had been inside the suit that just blew up, but Michael knew Killian wasn't dead yet. Sure enough, moments later, Killian reappeared, his body glowing like magma, and started walking toward Tony.
Angry Killian, panicked Tony—just as Killian was about to kill him, a woman suddenly appeared: Pepper Potts!
Pepper easily knocked Killian back, her new Extremis-enhanced powers on full display.
Then one of the Iron Man suits targeted her, but she effortlessly destroyed it.
"Look out!" Tony shouted, seeing Killian rushing toward Pepper once again.
Pepper, calm and composed, picked up the arm of a broken Iron Man suit and put it on. The shockwave from its repulsor beam hit Killian squarely, and in an instant, Killian was annihilated.
"What a shame..." Michael muttered, shaking his head in regret as he watched Killian's destruction. He had been planning to acquire the Extremis virus from him.
But...
There was still a chance.
Watching Tony and Pepper survive the battle, Michael saw Tony promise to cure Pepper. Soon after, Tony activated the self-destruct sequence for his Iron Man suits, causing them to explode in the sky like fireworks.
"It's a shame, but come on, Tony. You're never really going to give up being Iron Man."
Michael watched the suits explode one by one and slowly stepped forward.
"There's one more!" Tony yelled, and Pepper raised the Iron Man arm, its repulsor beam aimed directly at Michael.
"Who are you?" Tony asked, surprised at Michael's sudden appearance.
"Relax, I mean no harm. I'm here to help. It seems like this beautiful lady is in some trouble?" Michael said with a smile, raising his hands in a gesture of peace.
However, neither Tony nor Pepper lowered their guard. A stranger suddenly showing up at a time like this was more than suspicious.
"The Extremis virus isn't perfect. You've seen its drawbacks. I'm sure Tony Stark, the famous Iron Man, will find a solution eventually. But who knows how much time it will take? I can help remove the virus from her, completely."
"I don't believe it!" Tony snapped.
"Is that true?" Pepper asked, her voice filled with hope.
Michael shrugged, "I won't lie. I came here for the Extremis virus. But helping her benefits both of us. If it fails, there's no danger. And... we don't have to be enemies. At least, not right now."
"Tony..." Pepper looked at Tony, who hesitated before whispering, "Jarvis, I want a full identification of this person."
"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Michael. But I doubt Jarvis will be able to find any records of me."
