Sirena knew but she still couldn't believe it when it became real. The woman cared. At least someone truly cared about her. She couldn't visit her family house in her new form but this was enough.
She tried to hold herself back from crying as she placated the elderly woman.
"I'm so sorry to hear that ma'am. I'm sure she's in a better place now."
"I'm sure too. She was such an angel." The woman's voice wavered, breaking Sirena's heart even more.
Sirena couldn't stand her tears. She badly wanted to reveal the truth but she couldn't.
"It's okay."
"I agree. Let me get your order ready now."
