Altair was defeated; from the moment they made contact, he was subdued, firmly pinned to the ground.
This left Saeko Busujima utterly shocked. She had lost immediately upon contact. Although she was without her sword, her agility shouldn't have been a problem. Her attack power had diminished, but her mobility hadn't been compromised.
She thought she shouldn't have been caught so easily, yet here she was, pinned to the ground in less than a second. The other party had complete control over her, leaving her unable to move.
She had been captured!
"So this is what you meant by 'trying'? Well, your attempt is certainly amusing, coming to me willingly like this?"
Altair had Saeko's left hand twisted behind her back, his knee pressing firmly on her rear... yes, he did it on purpose!
Wow, the sensation isn't bad, super soft, and her thighs too... this feels amazing.
"You!"
Saeko wasn't bothered by what was happening to her rear. Instead, she tried to use her legs to attack Altair's head, but her thighs couldn't move because his other leg was also pinning her down, rendering her completely immobile.
"Alright, you've lost. I could kill you effortlessly right now."
After struggling for a while and realizing she couldn't break free, Saeko gave up.
"I've lost. Go ahead and kill me."
As someone who had planned to ensnare and take down Altair, Saeko knew she had failed this time. Her strong spirit wouldn't allow her to surrender, so she chose to have him kill her instead.
Bang!
Altair slammed his fist into the ground next to Saeko's head, leaving a fist-shaped dent in the earth with the bracer on his left arm, and then immediately released her, stepping back.
Saeko felt a sudden lightness as she stood up, rolling to face Altair with a frown.
"What's the meaning of this?"
"I'm letting you go."
"Letting me go? What's the point of that?"
"I never intended to kill you, so why not let you go?"
This was the middle of the street after all. Even if he wanted to do something, it wouldn't be here.
"I wanted to kill you, you realize that?"
"I know, but you can't."
Altair spread his hands, explaining casually.
"So you just let me go?"
"That's right. By the way, do you have any money on you?"
Altair wasn't interested in continuing the conversation and instead asked about money.
"Sorry, I only brought my wooden sword, no money."
"Well then, I'm leaving. See you."
With that, he turned and ran off. After wasting so much time with Saeko, he still needed to find some thugs to borrow money from.
Saeko stood there, staring blankly at Altair as he left, confusion written all over her face.
After parting ways with Saeko, Altair began searching for a convenience store. Everyone knew that thugs liked to hang around the alleys near convenience stores or in dark places. As for gangsters, they usually operate near commercial real estate areas.
Unfortunately, this city wasn't particularly large, so there weren't any major commercial districts. Better to stick with the small-time thugs.
It took Altair over an hour, but he finally found a group of bikers hanging out together.
Though not your average street thugs, they were no different in his eyes... just another group to mess with.
After a one-sided battle, Altair defeated the entire biker gang without taking any damage, seizing about 30,000 yen in cash.
Though not a huge sum, it was more than enough to live in Japan for half a month, or even a whole month if he was frugal.
He found a hotel that didn't require identification and spent the night there.
The next morning, Altair left the hotel, went to a convenience store, and bought a lot of food, which he stored in his 4D Pocket before heading back to Fujimi Academy.
Even though the police had been called the day before, Altair wasn't worried at all... he'd be back!
Although the zombie outbreak didn't officially begin at Fujimi Academy, that didn't stop him from starting there. After all, the storyline he was familiar with began at the academy, and most importantly, his waifus were still there... even if they were technically ex-waifus by now. Nevertheless, upon seeing them again, Altair realized he still had some feelings for them. And it had nothing to do with their size or softness!
The school gates had tightened security; there were now two guards and a PE teacher on watch at the entrance. So Altair simply took the same route as the night before and climbed over the wall into Fujimi Academy.
To his surprise, as soon as he landed, he ran into someone familiar.
Saeko Busujima, holding her wooden sword, just happened to be passing by the corridor and saw Altair jump over the wall, witnessing the entire process. This was a bit awkward. Standing frozen in place, Altair raised his hand in an attempt to greet her.
"Yo! Good morning, off to practice this early?"
"It's almost lunchtime after this class. It's not that early."
Saeko didn't seem awkward at all, even replying calmly.
"Well, looks like I'm late then."
Altair shrugged off the awkwardness, nodded, and prepared to leave.
Saeko watched Altair stroll through the school grounds as if it were his own backyard. She couldn't help but frown and glance at her wooden sword, resisting the urge to attack.
"What are you doing at my school?"
"Oh, I have some acquaintances here, so I came to visit. Also, I'm seeing if there's anything I can help with."
"Acquaintances? Help with something? You have acquaintances at school, yet you still broke the vending machine and knocked out the cafeteria worker?"
"Well... I was supposed to start yesterday, but nothing happened."
"What are you talking about?"
Saeko didn't understand what Altair meant.
"Never mind, I'm off."
Altair didn't bother explaining and prepared to leave.
"If something big happens later, you can find me in the infirmary. I'll be there for a while."
With that, she turned and left, leaving Saeko puzzled.
What did he mean?
With lingering confusion, Saeko headed to the kendo club while Altair went to the infirmary.
Inside the infirmary, Shizuka Marikawa was sitting quietly as usual. When she saw Altair appear, she even looked a little excited... what a pure soul.
Just like the day before, Altair lay down on the bed in the infirmary and chatted with Shizuka, who didn't seem to see him as a bad guy at all.
It wasn't until lunch break that they suddenly heard screams from the courtyard outside.
The story was finally beginning.
