Chapter 60 - 60 Avalon

Although it was just a small villa with a yard, as the Headquarters of the Familia, it needed a name. So, as the Captain of the Familia, Altair named this small villa Avalon.

As for why he chose this name, it was because Altair was reminiscing about his past. As a former Master who could no longer save humanity, Altair had a special fondness for this name.

So, when will he get a mission to the moonlit world?!

Alright, setting aside the question of whether he got a mission to the moonlit world, Altair was now busy hanging the Familia's emblem on the gate of the villa.

Every Familia had its own emblem. For example, the emblem of the Freya Familia was the profile of a Valkyrie, edged with golden jewelry. The Loki Familia had a jester mask. As for the Hestia Familia, its emblem was Hestia's flame, wrapped around a sword symbolizing Altair.

After spending all night crafting the emblem, Altair hung it at the entrance. He stepped back a few paces to the villa gate and looked up at the entire building, smiling to himself.

Unknowingly, three months had passed since he Isekai'd into this new world. From initially being cautious and laying low, to gaining new skills and seeking out Hestia, to now reaching Level 2, bringing home a new wife, and securing a new headquarters, life in this world of swords and magic had become quite good for him.

However, he understood that this was just the beginning, and there was still a long journey ahead.

Touching the Familia emblem on the gate, Altair pushed the door open and walked inside.

"Altair-kun, I've prepared lunch for you."

Saeko Busujima who stood inside offered him a bento box.

"Thank you, Saeko."

Altair took the bento from her hands and tossed it into his space pocket. Although there was still plenty of food stored there from the Highschool of the Dead world, Altair preferred freshly made meals. After all, food made by his wife couldn't be compared to store-bought food.

After that, Altair turned around and extended his arms to the side.

A white figure leaped from the stairs, twisting mid-air and landing perfectly in Altair's open arms, wrapping its arms around his neck.

"Good morning, Altair-kun!"

"Good morning, Hestia."

"Altair-kun, are you heading out?"

"Yes, I went to the dungeon with Saeko the other day, and she did most of the work. So today, I'll let Saeko rest at home with you, and I'll go to the dungeon alone. This time, I want to explore some new areas."

"Oh, then be careful, Altair-kun!"

Even though Hestia knew of Altair's abilities, she couldn't help but show concern.

"Don't worry, I'll be back before dinner, just like always."

After saying goodbye to Hestia and Saeko, Altair set out alone for the dungeon.

This time, Altair wasn't planning to waste time on the upper floors. After leveling up to Level 2, he had lost interest in monsters on the first to seventeenth floors. As a man with cheats, staying in the lower-level areas was too boring for him.

When he was at Level 1, he could handle floors 1 to 17. Now that he was Level 2, naturally, it was time to seek out challenges beyond the 17th floor.

Alone, Altair moved swiftly through the dungeon, ignoring most of the monsters. However, the monsters didn't disappear just because he left their attack range. They relentlessly pursued him, as if thinking, "You're not leaving unless you kill me today."

Altair didn't ignore them entirely. On each floor, when enough monsters had gathered behind him, he would toss a high-explosive magic grenade, blowing them all to pieces.

You see, in just a few steps, gather monsters, group them together, and then wipe them out with an area-of-effect attack.

Without even turning to look at the explosion behind him, Altair knew the monsters had been obliterated.

He then turned around, crouched down, and slowly began picking up the magic stones from the ground.

These stones were money, after all. They powered his weapons and provided income for the Familia. Since the Familia was currently low on funds, every magic stone was precious!

He advanced to the 17th floor, where the floor boss, Goliath, hadn't respawned yet since Altair had last defeated it. The 17th floor was relatively empty, with the large ice wall where Goliath appeared standing solitary.

Altair glanced at the ice wall and calculated Goliath's respawn time in his head. After confirming it wouldn't appear soon, he headed directly to the 18th floor.

For Altair, Goliath was a great resource. Although it was weak, its magic stones were large! When money was tight, he could sell the stones for cash. Later, when he had enough money, he could use Goliath's stones to create energy cells for his weapons. A single Goliath could provide him with a long-term energy supply.

According to his previous calculations, Goliath's magic stone could be used to make forty magic bullets for his rocket launcher. That was four hundred shots of light cannon, even if he fired at full power. That meant a full rocket shot was equivalent to one-fourth of a Goliath's stone, but defeating Goliath didn't take anywhere near that much energy. All in all, Goliath was incredibly useful!

After passing through the 17th floor, Altair reached the fabled 18th floor, where monsters didn't spawn. It was also a base camp for adventurers to rest and resupply before pushing deeper into the dungeon.

Some of the larger Familia used this floor as a staging ground for their expeditions, but the prices for supplies here were exorbitant, and the rates for selling materials were much lower than on the surface.

Altair wanted to complain... was this system for real? There were definitely some big Familia pulling strings behind the scenes.

The 18th floor wasn't far from the surface, with the only real challenge being the Goliath on the 17th floor. But Goliath was usually dealt with quickly once it appeared.

In short, reaching the 18th floor from the surface wasn't too difficult. All you needed were a couple of adventurer teams for escort, and a few supporters to carry supplies, and you could easily transport a large amount of goods. So why were the prices here so absurd?

The big Familia didn't really need the 18th floor for resupply, as their expeditions rarely consumed much between floors 1 and 17. As for the smaller Familia, they didn't even bother because they couldn't afford it! By the time you reached the 18th floor, it didn't take much more time to return to the surface.

Whatever the case, Altair had now arrived at the eighteenth floor.

[Achievement Unlocked: You'll Definitely Reach the Eighteenth Floor!]
