Chapter 27 - dream of future

"Ahh!" I whipped around, my heart racing. A car was tailing me, its engine roaring as bullets sprayed in my direction.

I dove for cover behind a nearby building, adrenaline pumping. My hands were steady as I drew my Glock, swiftly reloading it with practiced precision. I peeked out, squeezing the trigger. Bang! Bang! Bang! The deafening sound of gunfire echoed in the alley, but the car didn't slow down.

My Glock clicked empty, and I cursed under my breath. "Sh#t! Who the hell snitched to the FBI?" My fingers itched for vengeance, the thought of tracking down whoever did this sending a shiver of rage down my spine. I'll make them regret it.

Without wasting another second, I bolted out from behind cover, sprinting for the nearest vehicle. I yanked the door open, shoved the driver out, and slammed my foot on the gas. The tires screeched as I tore down the street, leaving the chaos behind.

As the sun rose, we woke up early. With only three days left until the New Year, we had been training hard to become stronger and ensure our family's safety, just like we promised. After our training, our mom, Kushina, called us out.

"You both have laid the foundation for your powers now," she said. "So, you can relax and enjoy your childhood. Don't regret that because of me, you didn't get to enjoy it due to the training. I've called Satsuki, Sasukai, and Izumi Uchiha to take you to the market and some other places, like Ichiraku Ramen and others."

After that, we both took a shower and changed into fresh clothes. Soon after, the Uchiha twins and Izumi arrived at our house.

The doorbell rang ding dong, ding dong. Kushina walked to the front door and opened it.

"Oh dear, you've all come! Please, come inside," she greeted them.

Izumi smiled and said, "Thanks, Aunty Kushina, for having us." Satsuki also thanked her, and Sasukai bowed but didn't say anything. Satsuki nudged Sasukai with her elbow.

"Th-thank you, Aunty Kushina," Sasukai stuttered.

They all entered the house.

Inside, Hana and I were sitting on the sofa in the living room, waiting for them. Once they entered, Kushina said, "Please, make yourselves comfortable. I'll bring some juice and snacks for you."

I greeted them, "Hi, Sasukai, Satsuki, and Izumi. Thanks for coming over." Satsuki smiled and said, "Don't worry, Naruto and Hana, I guess we are friends now, so it's all good."

I laughed and replied, "Okay, don't worry. We'll leave in the afternoon to visit Hokage Rock, then go to Ichiraku Ramen before heading home."

Everyone agreed, and Kushina returned with juice and snacks. We all enjoyed the snacks and drinks before heading out to Hokage Rock.

Since it was just a few days before New Year's, the village felt lively and festive. Decorations were starting to appear along the streets as people prepared for the holiday.

The five of us, aged between 5 and 9, climbed the path to the top of Hokage Rock, laughing and racing each other to see who could get there first. We admired the village below, feeling awestruck by our surroundings. As we gazed up at the faces of the Hokages, we each shared our dreams, inspired by the legends before us. We all hoped to become powerful shinobi one day, and we enjoyed every moment at the top.

Afterward, we headed to Ichiraku Ramen, where the warm aroma of noodles and broth welcomed us. The shop felt cozy, and we eagerly dug into our bowls. Naruto and Hana, full of energy, might have even challenged each other to see who could eat more. Izumi, being a few years older, watched over them with a smile, enjoying their innocence and enthusiasm. This simple meal together strengthened our bond, creating a cherished memory.

---

As we entered Ichiraku Ramen, the delicious aroma of freshly cooked ramen filled the air. Behind the counter, Ayame, Teuchi's daughter, was helping her father. She noticed us immediately, our faces full of excitement and curiosity.

Naruto, always the center of attention, began chattering about Hokage Rock and how he wanted to be stronger than the Hokage one day. He said, "I'm going to surpass everyone and be the greatest shinobi there's ever been." His eyes shone with unwavering resolve, his ambition clear in every word.

Izumi, Satsuki, and Sasukai all nodded in agreement, their eyes full of trust and admiration for Naruto's dream.

Ayame, who had been listening while preparing ramen, was impressed by Naruto's determination. She walked over to their table and placed the bowls of ramen in front of us. Then, looking at Naruto, she smiled.

"You know, Naruto," Ayame said, "If you keep working hard like that, you might just surpass even the Hokage one day. Your determination is something special."

Naruto's eyes lit up. "You really think so?" he asked, full of hope.

Ayame chuckled, nodding. "Absolutely. The Hokage might be strong, but someone with your determination... well, you could be even stronger than anyone. Keep pushing forward, Naruto."

The others were chatting, but Ayame was focused on Naruto. His fiery ambition and unshakeable confidence stirred something inside her. As she walked back to help her father, she felt a warmth in her chest, realizing that this young boy—just five years old—might one day be the greatest shinobi to ever live. And maybe, just maybe, someone she could admire for years to come.
