Chapter 4 - THE ORCISH THREAT

*Chapter 4: The Orcish Threat*

Lord Roshan returned to Elyria, his dominance over Gorgoroth solidified. Princess Elise, now a valued advisor, stood beside him.

"My lord, your victory strengthens Elyria's position," Lyra said, "but Aethoria remains a wildcard. Their elven enclaves hold significant power."

Lord Roshan nodded. "I'll send an envoy to Aethoria. Princess Elise, your diplomatic expertise is required."

Princess Elise curtsied. "I'll ensure Aethoria understands Elyria's intentions."

As preparations began, Kael approached Lord Roshan. "My lord, rumors spread of Tharros, a dragon lord rivaling your power."

Lord Roshan's gaze narrowed. "Find Tharros. I'll not be threatened."

The Aethorian envoy departed, with Princess Elise, Lyra and a contingent of dragon riders. Upon arrival, they were greeted by Elthar, Aethoria's enigmatic ambassador.

"Lord Roshan seeks alliance, not conquest," Princess Elise assured Elthar.

Elthar's eyes sparkled. "Aethoria values peace, but our interests are complex. We'll consider Elyria's proposal."

As negotiations progressed, Princess Elise discovered hidden tensions within Aethoria. Factions vied for power, threatening the realm's stability.

Meanwhile, Kael tracked Tharros to a remote dragon nest. The rival dragon lord awaited, his power palpable.

"You're a relic of the past, Roshan," Tharros declared. "I'll claim Elyria's throne."

Kael relayed the warning to Lord Roshan, who smiled grimly. "Tharros will soon learn the true meaning of power."

Lord Roshan's ambition burned brighter. Uniting the realms under his rule seemed within reach.

The sun had barely risen over Elyria's horizon when Lord Roshan assembled his war council. Princess Elise, now a valued advisor, stood alongside Lyra and Kael.

"Gorgoroth's orcs have breached our eastern borders," Lyra reported, her voice grave. "Their numbers are estimated in the thousands."

Lord Roshan's expression turned cold. "Mobilize our dragon riders. We'll crush this threat swiftly."

Kael nodded. "Our scouts report the orcs are led by a powerful warlord, Gorthok the Unyielding."

Princess Elise stepped forward. "I've heard of Gorthok. He's ruthless and cunning. Diplomacy may be our best option."

Lord Roshan raised an eyebrow. "Explain."

"Gorthok seeks to exploit Elyria's internal conflicts," Princess Elise said. "Offering him a strategic alliance could redirect his ambitions."

Lord Roshan pondered her words. "Very well. We'll send an envoy to Gorthok. But if he refuses, we'll show no mercy."

As the war council dispersed, Lord Roshan turned to Princess Elise. "You'll accompany the envoy. Your diplomatic skills may prove invaluable."

Princess Elise nodded, a mix of excitement and trepidation swirling within her.

The envoy, comprising Princess Elise, Lyra and a contingent of dragon riders, set out for Gorgoroth's stronghold. As they approached, the air thickened with tension.

Gorthok, a towering orc warlord, greeted them with a snarl. "What does Elyria's dragon lord offer?"

Princess Elise stepped forward, her voice steady. "A strategic alliance, benefiting both our realms."

Gorthok's gaze narrowed. "I'll listen. But Elyria's concessions had better be substantial."

The negotiations began, Princess Elise expertly navigating the treacherous landscape of orcish politics. Lord Roshan's fate, and Elyria's future, hung in the balance.
