Chapter 1 - I

There was a boy.A boy who had a promising future, his whole life was laid out for him.He got the girl. He had just finished high school and had plans to live with the love of his life.He could have gone for it all, and succeeded. One could say he was trully blessed by the world...Yet not all blessings are free.He lost everything in a matter of minutes, under a rain of heavenly light. The sky, the stars themselves seemingly fell down to render judgement.Consuming everything hungrily, leaving none unscathed. In his arms he held his love, her once pristine silver hair, now matted with red.The boy cried out at the unfairness of the world.WHY? Why did you let only me live?!The world was impassive with it's response. You are blessed are you not? It replied. The boy cried and cried. Until he could cry no more..._There was a man.A man who dedicated himself to saving everyone he could see in front of him.Come rain. Come snow or shine, he could be seen trudging on through life, stopping to help whoever came in his path.He became obsessed, fixated even, on saving everyone he could. From danger, from abusive families.From them. The Angels, the Devils, the monsters mingling among humans. And the demons lingering among devils. He saved and he saved. Over and over again.Only then, just maybe, he could alleviate the guilt of losing everyone he cared for. That man worked himself to death. And then beyond that.He became a symbol of hope for the mortals. The humans. The devils. All those who were unable to support themselves.Speak up for themselves.Save themselves. He saved them like it was second nature.Saving them over and over again. He became a hero. A hero of justice, the backbone of humanity. A sword that cuts down the evils that plague humanity. He was a savior._There was a Savior. He had long since grown tired of saving. But saving was all he knew. All he could ever do.So he kept saving, and saving and saving. And saving.And s̴̭̹̾̃ă̶͈v̷̲̈́̈́i̷̡̤̓́ñ̵̺͔̲̀g̶̢̈́̕͝And s̴̭̹̾̃ă̶͈v̷̲̈́̈́i̷̡̤̓́ñ̵̺͔̲̀g̶̢̈́̕͝s̴̭̹̾̃ă̶͈v̷̲̈́̈́i̷̡̤̓́ñ̵̺͔̲̀g̶̢̈́̕͝s̴̭̹̾̃ă̶͈v̷̲̈́̈́i̷̡̤̓́ñ̵̺͔̲̀g̶̢̈́̕͝?Killing. ANd Killing. He grew so proficient at killing he earned the ire of everyone in the world. His name became synonomous with death.A name of warning for those who would dare to consider harming anyone. He was truly, a voice for the people who were unable to fend for themselves.A nameless hero hidden among the masses._There was a Martyr.Head bowed and arms bound together as he was held before the Rulers of the World below. He accepted his fate. His death was a necessity in order to soothe the fears of the populace below. He only had one request. To have his face hidden, and his name blotted from history. The Martyr didn't want to be known as anything.History has a way of twisting things after all.His demand, his plea was accepted. And so he died. His face covered by a black veil and a small smile adorning his lips.In death he found peace. In peace he found forgiveness. In forgiveness he found tranquility. And in tranquility, he could rest...✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧"Did... Did I do well...?""Mm. You did Amazing.""Is my job complete...?""Yeah. You can rest now...""Is... Is that so...?""Yeah.""I'm glad then..."A lone man.At the end of his journey, a person awaited him after all those years.

After countless struggles and tribulations, he finally had a moment of peace.

Whether it was fleeting or not, didn't matter in the moment. Because in the end....

"Welcome home. Little brother..."This isn't some grand tale. Nor is it some Oracle about a god amongst men. No.This is a story about second chances. About redemption and miracles.

This is a story about a girl whose life was torn asunder by a talking wand. About a boy who tossed aside and trampled on his ideals, casting them by the wayside to save the little sister he considered more important than the world. Choosing the few over the many.

About a girl who frankly is in over her head, fighting for a purpose she herself didn't truly believe.

This is a story of all the above, and none of the above.

This is the tale...

Of a Savior.
