Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Jeff then pierced the four fish from top to bottom, which earned him some points and exp. He gave each one a stick of fish to be eaten.

The three took it gratefully. They then cooked the fish by letting the fire burned it.

As time passed, the fish was finally cooked. They then took a bite, tasting its flavor. Jeff ate the fish wholeheartedly, while the three girls teared up.

Since they had not eaten any food yesterday. Seeing their tears, he couldn't help but pity these three. They then continued in munching their food.

Jeff then pry open the coconut when he saw them eating the food so fast. Choking would occur if they did that, of course.

When he saw that Jessica seemed to have something stuck in her throat, he passed her the open coconut.

Seeing this she was greatly indebted from his gentlemanly act, she then took the coconut juice in his hands.

Gurgle

She made a sound in drinking the coconut juice, as a smile of satisfaction spread on her face. Not only her, but the other two as well.

When Jeff was done eating, he rested for a bit, while the three ate their fill. Layla, who was glancing at Jeff, looking at him in the face, and sometimes diverted it, afraid that she would be caught.

She couldn't help but be saddened by this, as she pouted her lips. "Did he really not remember me?" she muttered inwardly, as she bit the fish on the stick aggressively.

After about a few minutes, he stood up. The three, who were now also resting, looked at him.

Jeff then thought for a moment and concluded that making a small shelter seemed to be a good idea.

After some time, his mind set on building a small shelter, "If you need something, I will just be gone for a moment to gather some materials," he said, gripping his trusty axe.

The three looked at his back, feeling how secured they are if they are going to follow him.

"Jess, don't you think he seems to be an expert in this? Why don't we stay with him so our chances of surviving on this island will rise rapidly?" Ariana whispered to the yellow-haired girl.

Jessica, hearing her words, pondered for a bit and nodded, "You're right. Not only was he an expert. He's even a good guy. Also, I don't see any abnormality about him that could make us feel endangered at all," she replied, sharing her thoughts as well.

"What about you Layla? Do you want to stay with him as well?" she asked, glancing at her.

Layla nodded her head in acceptance. She could really see that the guy beside her during the flight was a good guy. Sadly, she didn't know his name yet.

"Yes, I want to, but do you think he'll agree?" Layla asked with a questioning gaze.

The two stopped for a moment and looked deep down, thinking about it. Jessica then gazed towards the horizon, filled with confidence.

"Don't worry, he will accept us. You can clearly see how softhearted he was. With us three beauties, who wouldn't be tempted at all?" Jessica stated.

Ariana nodded her head, accepting this word. But Layla just shook her head.

"What is even beauty going to do for surviving on this island?" She muttered in a low breath that no one could hear.

Venturing into the nearby wooded area, Jeff collected long sticks and branches to form the frame of his shelter.

Returning to the sandy beach, he began to construct a spherical frame, much like the teepee structure he recalled seeing before.

"If I remembered correctly from the book, this is the first thing you have to do" he muttered inwardly.

As he started arranging the sticks, they collapsed several times, making him groan in frustration.

Each attempt seemed to end with the sticks in a tangled heap. "This is harder than I thought," Jeff muttered under his breath.

The same as lighting up the fire the process is harder than it seems to be. But he was determined, he tried different angles and configurations, his hands were red from gripping the wood.

After multiple failed attempts, he realized he needed more stable support. He found thicker branches to serve as the base, driving them firmly into the sand.

With the sturdier base in place, he carefully layered the remaining sticks, securing them with smaller branches and vines that he found attached from an older tree.

He struggled to balance the structure, as sweat dripping down his face, but the frame finally held.

"The first step is done" Jeff said, as he continued.

The next step, he needed to cover the frame. He gathered large palm leaves from the chopped tree yesterday, because their broad surfaces perfect for shielding against rain and wind.

He awkwardly tried to weave them into the structure, but they kept slipping out of place. After several retries, he finally found a way to secure them with smaller branches and vines, creating an overlapping barrier.

Each step felt like years, as he changes his approached, recalling bits of advice from the survival guides in his memories.

The struggles and small victories added up bit by bit, and eventually, the shelter began to take shape.

After what felt like hours of effort, the shelter was complete. It stood there, a simple yet effective construction, ready to offer refuge.

Jeff stepped back, admiring his handiwork. It wasn't perfect, but it would do for now. He felt a sense of satisfaction, knowing he had created a safe space for the night.

[You just made a Shelter. You have gained 10 experience points & 2 points.]

[10/100 exp. Remains to unlock a skill]

The system panel then showed the progress bar from his finished work. Jeff nodded his head in accomplishment, seeing this.

The space inside wasn't really that big and could fit him for the night, so it wasn't a problem.

As he looked back, he could see that the girls were still there, making his brows furrow.

"Are they not going to leave?" he muttered inwardly.

He then walked slowly towards them. He rested for a bit by sitting on the palm tree in the center of the campfire.

He didn't speak as he sat there. This had been his personality ever since he was just a kid.

If he didn't have anything to talk about, he wouldn't initiate any conversation and would just treat others like air.

The three glanced at each other, knowing already what to do after making up their minds. The yellow-haired girl then stood up as she walked towards Jeff.

"Um, hello. I don't know your name yet. Is it okay for me to ask it?" she asked, embarrassingly.

"Oh, I'm Jeff Anzon. Just call me Jeff for short," he replied, looking at her in the face.

Feeling the intense gaze directed at her face, her cheeks turned red like a tomato but steeled herself.

"Is it possible for us to stay with you? Since we have no plans for today, that is if it's okay with you," she muttered in a mosquito voice.

Jeff, hearing this, didn't hurriedly reply but thought about it deeply. After a moment, he nodded, accepting it.

Since he could see that the three seemed to be incapable in surviving all by their selves, as a good person, he could help them while waiting for the rescuers.

But he only put lowered his hope that the rescuers were going to arrive so it wouldn't affect him psychologically. If they didn't.

"Sure, if you want to. I'll try and make you a shelter, so you have a place to live."

"Really?" the three muttered, with stars in their eyes.

"Of course. I should better start now since later in the afternoon, I should go inside this forest to explore and get a good grasp of the surroundings," he replied.

Also, he could also get some experience so he wasn't losing from this trade at all. The three jumped heartily, filled with happiness since they finally had their own place to stay.

As they jumped, their boobs swayed up and down, the most noticeable being was Ariana since hers was bigger than the other two combined.

Of course, Jeff didn't even glance at it since he wasn't interested in it at all. For the record, he wasn't gay, he just didn't have any interest in that stuff. For now😈!
