I opened my eyes, my vision was tinted blue. Why do I feel like I'm floating? I got distracted from furthering my perceptions of where I was exactly. As I looked through the blue haziness, I saw three tubes filled with a blue liquid… Oh, so that's what I'm in. As I thought that, I heard muffled sounds of bells ringing, and I felt like I was swaying slightly. What's going on? I saw a figure wearing glasses and a lab coat rushing to pick up papers into a bag. The figure was difficult to see, but he looked back at us with what looked like a disappointed look, but it was hard to make out any features. As they ran out of the room, I heard a muffled crash. Then I felt a heavy impact, and for a moment, I could hear normally: screaming, thunder, heavy rain, and the smashing of glass. Then I blacked out.
I opened my eyes again, and I was lying on a beach. "What the-" I muttered. I shakily pushed myself up so I was sitting upright. I looked out to the sea and I could see the remnants of a passing storm. Around me were scrap pieces of wood. "Was I on a ship?" I wracked my brain trying to remember anything… But nothing came to mind. I heard a squawk behind me and I quickly turned my head. It was just some weird-looking bird. I sighed in relief. I looked around again to get a hold of my surroundings ignoring my colourful ambusher. Other than the beach, there was also a thick jungle-like forest. I started walking around the beach, searching for anything that I could find. I found a piece of driftwood that I could use as a bat. I sighed, "This'll have to do, I guess".
I took my new found weapon and decided I should try and find something for shelter and some food. As I turned to head into the forest I jumped as I heard someone yell in an angrily confused tone "Hey, what're think yer doin on my island!". Shocked I looked over to where the yelling came from and saw a what looked like a middle aged human man, he had heavily tanned skin, though it was hard to make out through his very large dirty beard, he was wearing a what I guess you could call a robe, though it was poorly put together and looked to be made of random parts of tattered cloth and leaves to fill in holes. He was carrying a spear with a stone tip and his eyes gave me the impression he was a little bit insane… He stared me down for a moment, I readied my makeshift bat ready to defend my self. Then he pulled his spear close to his face and I then saw the poorly drawn face on the tip of the spear… He loudly whispered "what do ya think we should do with him ay Tim?", "uhhhh…uhuh. Alright guess your right.". Before I could react or call out his spear flew out of his hand and conked me on the head and I fell to the floor.
I woke up tied with vines to a wooden stake, I sighed "I'm really tired of being knocked out". Around me was a small makeshift shack made of vines, leaves, and sticks up against a tree for support, there was also a camp fire and a rack made of sticks holding some sort of meat over the fire. It smelt really good, my stomach grumbled. After a few minutes of struggling futilely the man walked out, with his spear or Tim I suppose. He looked at me "Guess its awake" he said in an obnoxiously loud voice, does he have hearing problems or something? As I was thinking that he walked over and cut some of the meat off of the carcass hanging over the fire, walked over and before I could say anything he pried my mouth open and shoved the meat in. The juices flooded my mouth. It was delicious, plain but considering I was starving it didn't really matter. "Can't have yer die-in on us now can we" he said as he walked back and cut some more meat off, walked over sat in front of me and started messily eating. It was distracting and gross watching meat bits and grease fall into his beard, I shuddered. "So who are ya?" He said loudly, staring intently at me with his wide sporadic eyes. "Uhm" wait who am I? In response to my confusion he stared off into the distance for a moment lost in thought, then said "Akry, lets call yer Akry". "Akary?" I said, "No Akry!" He said louder this time. "Akary?!" I said louder in a confused tone. "Ak- Eh whatever that works too… dummy". "Hey, I'm not dumb!" I argued. "So where'd you come from Akary?" He said in a still loud and aggressive tone. That's just how he talks all the time doesn't he. "I think I was on a boat? Wha-wait a minute who the hell are you then?!" I said angrily. "Names Currk, thats Tim" he said pointing to his floating spear with a face. Wait why's it floating?! Is his spear possessed or something? "Anyway come with me" He grunted aggressively turning to walk away. "Cut him loose Tim", as he said that Tim flew over and sliced the vines clean off. I stared for a moment dumbfounded by what just happened. After a moment I got up and started following him into the forest, Tim floating ominously behind me.
After a while of walking silently through the thick jungle, we came up on a small mound where he ducked behind and peaked over "c'mere" he said actually quiet this time. So he is capable of it I thought to myself. I walked over warily and ducked down behind the mound beside him. He smelt bad, like really bad. I looked over the mound and below was a fairly steep drop to a big mud patch with a large green scaly thing. "See dat there crocodile, that's our dinna" he said. he then turned to me and shoved his hand deep into his beard and then pulled out a small makeshift knife made of roughly chiseled rock and a vine rapping around a section of it to ack like a handle. He tossed it to me which I caught in slight confusion. He then said "shove em", as he said that I felt a sharp pain in my back as Tim whacked me over the mound, I tumbled down the hill and landed very unceremoniously into the mud. I got up and spat the mud out of my mouth and froze as the large scaly beast was staring right at me.
Before I knew it, it started to run at me on all fours. In response knife still in hand I ran away as well. What was I supposed to do!? It quickly caught up and as it lunged at me I tired to jump over it. We repeated that until we stood in a stand off, staring each other down. Okay, so I clearly couldn't out run it, and I definitely can't keep jumping over it forever. Do I really have to fight this thing? I sighed internally, I held the knife up. When did I start trembling? Despite that it must've sensed me losing focus and it lunged at me, in my panic I stabbed at it as best I could. It hit it in they eye and it reared off letting out a large angry roar. I stood there in wonder, I actually hit it? I hit it! Alright I got this. I was still shaking violently. As it writhed in pain it whacked me with its tail square in my chest. The wind got knocked out of me as I got sent flying into the stump of a tree. I let out a scream in pain as my back and chest felt like they were on fire from the pain. I spat a little blood out. Oh shit. I'm gonna die aren't I? As I lay there for a moment I tried to get up, but couldn't move yet, my head felt light and my vision was out of focus. The beast (its a big crocodile but he doesn't know what that is) finally stopped writhing around and turned toward me in its anger, as I did just stab its eye and it charged… oh shit. I tried to swing my arm in front of me but the knife wasn't there. As it came barrelling toward me I almost instinctively stretched out my hand and felt a surge of electricity through me, I heard an explosion then I blacked out (again really?).
I came to again I was lying against the tree by the mud still. "Where'd the crocodile go?" I muttered to my self. "Well looks like ye ain't completely useless… yeah yeah I know your always right Tim" he said annoyed and rolling his eyes. A few feet away from him lay the scaly beast, its head was gone and its body was charred. "What happened-?" I asked. "You made a big sparkly boom" he said very helpfully… I stared at him blankly. "Alright Tim get him, i'll haul the dinna". Tim inserted the shaft of the spear through the collar of my shirt and dragged me behind Currk.
After a fairly long trek, and a lot of painful blows to the head from being dragged through a jungle. We made it back to camp and Tim left me on the ground as I slipped back into unconsciousness.
