Chapter 16 - A Peculiar Curse

"Of all the Jujutsu Masters I've fought, you're the youngest and with the strongest energy, but like the others, you'll have to stay here." The purple Special Grade Cursed Spirit smiled, but since its mouth was sewn shut, the skin split slightly, and deadly red blood oozed out slowly.

"Of course, I'm different from the other Jujutsu Masters you've fought. If you didn't believe that, you'd underestimate me." Although Hisagi might not be able to fight a powerful Special Grade Spirit, he's far from weak and wouldn't be at a disadvantage. He wants to eliminate this cursed spirit to know how far he can go with his current strength.

"For someone so young, your confidence and arrogance are not small. Humans only tell the truth when they're about to die; as long as they haven't experienced the darkness, they'll all be bound by pride." As the purple Cursed Spirit finished speaking, it vanished instantly at a terrifying speed.

"So fast!" Hisagi's face changed instantly as his spiritual power erupted to its fullest. A white aura enveloped Hisagi's body as he held the blade of his sword in the air.

Facing such a powerful Special Grade Cursed Spirit, Hisagi couldn't afford to be careless. If he didn't prepare now, he might not get a second chance.

Peng!

Boom! Crash!

Hisagi's pupils contracted as he sensed a presence to his left, immediately turning defensively to block the strike. The force of the blow sent him flying, crashing into several desks.

"If I use my power here, these people will die." Hisagi stood up. Although he managed to block the direct hit, part of his clothing tore, and some superficial wounds began to bleed.

The purple Cursed Spirit was somewhat surprised. Under normal circumstances, a regular Jujutsu master would have been disintegrated by its attack by now, but this young man standing before him had actually resisted the strike.

The employees working late at night seemed oblivious to Hisagi's fight with the purple Cursed Spirit, continuing their overtime work as if nothing was happening.

Hisagi couldn't resolve this issue while battling such a powerful Cursed Spirit, but he also couldn't fight with full strength, as that would result in human casualties. He hadn't yet decided which path to take.

Time was running out, and it became clear that he couldn't take control of this phenomenon and eliminate it because, before he knew it, the purple Cursed Spirit lunged at him again in mere seconds, both figures moving at speeds beyond human reaction.

"If I rely solely on my body's strength, I might hold out and find a way." Hisagi reacted quickly, swinging his sword at the enemy.

"Ryodan!"

Bisection!

Crash!

A powerful punch enveloped in pure cursed energy collided with the edge of Hisagi's sword, which was infused with spiritual energy. The purple Cursed Spirit's right arm was split in half upon making contact with the blade.

Hisagi had used a kendo technique that involved bringing the sword down with enough force to cut an opponent in half. However, his main goal was to stop the incoming attack at all costs.

"How is this possible?!" The purple Cursed Spirit showed an expression of disbelief—this mere human had cut its arm in half.

Slash!

Hisagi capitalized on his recent victorious strike and vanished using his Shupo technique. In seconds, he repositioned himself behind his enemy and attacked again, but this time with a different technique that didn't require his sword.

"Sokotsu!"

Double Bone!

Hisagi murmured as he amplified his power, striking the purple Cursed Spirit's back with both hands.

The purple Cursed Spirit was thrown back, crashing through several walls and landing hundreds of meters away.

"I knew it..." Hisagi returned to a standard fighting stance and gripped the hilt of his sword.

It only took a few seconds for the purple cursed spirit that had been sent flying to rise again. Although now wounded, it wasn't enough to defeat it. Hisagi hadn't expected to kill such a powerful being with just two simple attacks, but after seeing how the wounds he had inflicted disappeared, he felt his strikes were insignificant.

As expected from a full-fledged Special Grade Cursed Spirit. At that moment, Hisagi had a doubt he needed to resolve before continuing. He looked at the Spirit and asked, "Did you eat a special-grade cursed object, something like a finger of Ryomen Sukuna?"

"Hahaha, who told you that only special-grade cursed objects left by Ryomen Sukuna exist?" The purple Cursed Spirit stood tall. Now, it had some understanding of the boy in front of it, and certainly, he didn't seem to know much. It was easy to tell that he was different from the Jujutsu sorcerers it had killed, but he wasn't much stronger.

"I was just curious; I didn't want to leave an indescribable cursed object after killing you. You've been here for a long time, freely inhaling the resentment and negative energy from those you've controlled. Like the heir to a power beyond your understanding, I can't allow you to continue existing." Hisagi felt obligated never to back down in a battle, no matter who stood in front of him. If he didn't get rid of this Special Grade Cursed Spirit here and now, it would be a problem in the future.

"Young sorcerer, with your little experience, you won't achieve much. The people in this job are far different from your accomplishments in this fight. You have a bright future ahead of you, but you decided to bury it here."

The purple Cursed Spirit suddenly raised its hands and said, "Domain Expansion!"

"Damn!" Hisagi's expression changed, and at the same time, he tried to put distance between himself and the building, no matter how many floors up he was. He wanted to get out of that place and avoid the Cursed Spirit's domain.

But his steps halted when he saw all those people. If he retreated now, more of them would be hurt. So, Hisagi made a decision—something every sorcerer had done at some point in their life—it was inevitable.

"Saving thousands at the cost of sacrifices—that is the true path of a sorcerer." Hisagi understood that not everyone could be saved in this world, so to prevent others from being endangered, he decided to bury this Special Grade Cursed Spirit with all his power.

Seeing the young man remain motionless, the purple Cursed Spirit enveloped him with its domain, trapping him in a different space.

"A tall building?" Under Hisagi's feet was a hard metal floor with holes. He was surrounded by a tall building with steel bars, and looking up, there was endless darkness. The surroundings looked extremely solid and indestructible.

Hisagi hadn't expected this Special Grade Cursed Spirit to launch its domain so quickly that he couldn't react even if he wanted to. If he had known, he would have mentioned it to Gojo Satoru when he visited.

"Well, I hope this place can't withstand all my power." Although Hisagi had a hidden power he had never released, it didn't mean he considered himself invincible. Most of the time, if he wasn't careful in his process of becoming stronger, he would face these kinds of restrictions.

Now that Hisagi had made a decision, he would give his all to eliminate this existence, regardless of the outcome.

Originally, Hisagi had wanted to attend a sorcery school to learn new things about cursed spirits and how to avoid certain traps or problems. He believed that by joining a school, he could eliminate cursed spirits according to his combat power, gradually increasing his strength.

But now he was fighting a Special Grade Cursed Spirit. To be honest, he didn't want to reveal his power so quickly, and he wasn't sure he could eliminate Special Grade beings.

However, he had no intention of escaping, as that would betray Yamamoto's will when he inherited this power. He was very proud to be worthy of possessing this strength, so he would honor the one he considered his master, even though they had never met.

"It's twelve o'clock. No one can save you here. You will die in this place." The purple Cursed Spirit waved its hand, and steel bars shot down from the building, heading straight toward where Hisagi stood.

Hisagi quickly dodged. His resilience and speed, along with his Shunpo, were a perfect combination for dodging at this moment, but soon he realized that the attacks targeted his position no matter where he moved.

"Is this what you call your domain?" Hisagi's face was filled with cold determination with every defensive move.

After receiving numerous blows to his body, Hisagi was covered in superficial wounds, giving him the appearance of someone who was losing.

"Could the fire from my Shikai melt these metal bars?" At this point, Hisagi didn't care anymore. Since his opponent could easily manipulate the steel bars to attack him, he was certainly confident in his power.

Although Hisagi was confident that his power was truly formidable, he still had that lingering doubt, which was understandable since he had never unleashed his full power.

The attacks came swiftly from all directions toward Hisagi's body, and in response, his speed increased more and more. His velocity reached its peak, and in just a few seconds, he had closed the distance with the purple Cursed Spirit.

Boom, boom, boom!

Suddenly, rows of reinforced walls emerged from the ground, blocking Hisagi's path and separating him from the purple Cursed Spirit.

"Even if you think you're invincible in your domain, I'll show you my true power!" Swinging his sword, Hisagi murmured coldly.

"All Things of this World, Turn to Ashes!"

"Ryujin Jakka!"

Boom!

The reinforced metal wall in front of Hisagi melted in an instant, as the intense heat erupted in the blink of an eye, and time seemed to slow as flames began to spread throughout the building, refusing to be extinguished.
