Chapter 51 - Oops, It’s a Heartbreaking Feeling

Working with military personnel brings a sense of peace and assurance.

American soldiers are not only reliable on the battlefield (except when it comes to my rabbit), but they also instill confidence in business dealings. It doesn't matter who the transaction partner is—even if it's a drug dealer—military logistics ensure that goods are delivered directly to your door in a military vehicle, with no road inspections in sight.

Given this level of security, Sean felt that the 150,000 yuan was a worthwhile investment. For that amount, the returns could be staggering.

The base was still buzzing with activity, resembling a large construction site. More than 30 personnel were accommodated in a temporary prefabricated room nearby. It was midnight when the ammunition arrived, and Sean had a truckload of weapons delivered right into the room. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming as everyone exchanged salutes.

"Let's go!" Sean called, waving his hand.

Setting aside a few unfortunate souls stuck on duty, the group hurried to a bar in Jersey City. The bar was owned by a local gang, a place where everyone knew each other and anything went. They settled into a corner, and Sean, eager to impress, had the regular drinks swapped for something better. He made sure to arrange for an enthusiastic woman to join them, embodying the spirited nature of New Jersey.

A lavish spread of fruit plates was brought out, showcasing an array of colors and styles. There were white, black, yellow, and brown options, each representing a rich diversity. The women varied in height and body type, adding to the festive atmosphere.

"Move!" Sean exclaimed, signaling for the women to strut their stuff.

The women walked confidently, twisting and swaying, each making provocative poses that captivated everyone in the room. Although they were all friends, anyone who found a particular favorite among the women was encouraged to make a move.

However, Sean wasn't impressed. Even in the mid-80s, an era known for its freedom, the entertainment scene left much to be desired in his eyes. The performances felt stale, lacking creativity—just simple stripteases without any real flair.

This realization sparked an idea in Sean: he dreamt of opening a modern entertainment venue that would elevate the cultural experience for Americans, showcasing a true blend of cultures and artistry.

As the night wore on, Bill suddenly stood up, adjusting his clothes and brushing his hair back with newfound energy. The group looked at him curiously as he declared, "Watch me show you how to pick up girls!"

He pointed to a stunning woman across the bar—a black beauty in a deep V-neck and flowing waves, her high-heeled shoes accentuating her every move.

"Watch how I'll impress her!" Bill boasted, puffing out his chest with confidence.

Though the others were skeptical of Bill's bravado, they cheered him on, eager for some entertainment. Bill picked up a decorative rose from the table and swaggered over to the woman's table. He held the flower in one hand, propping himself up with the other, and gazed affectionately at her as she looked up.

"I think I may never fall in love in this life," he said dramatically.

The beauty smiled, intrigued, and replied, "Oh, why do you say that?"

"It's all because of you, your infinite charm. My whole heart is filled with your image, and I can't accommodate anything else," Bill said, gazing into the beauty's eyes with affection.

The beauty covered her mouth and giggled. "Tell me, how long have you been practicing that line, and how many times has it actually worked?"

Bill: (_)

No, it's heartbreak!

A moment later, whether from embarrassment or too much alcohol, Bill returned to their table with a flushed face and a sour expression, plopping down heavily.

With outsiders around, the group felt awkward teasing Bill directly.

Jonas tried to hold it in but eventually couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"What are you laughing at?" Bill asked angrily.

"I just remembered something funny," Jonas quickly replied, trying to keep a straight face. But seeing Bill's discomfort, he couldn't help but laugh again.

This set everyone off, and they all burst into laughter.

Bill was visibly annoyed.

Taking a deep swig of his drink, he muttered, "Damn it, Sean said the same thing last time, but I spent a long time preparing and even had Saul help me refine the words. Why didn't it work?"

Sean looked curious. "I said that? What exactly did you say?"

Bill repeated his line, which caused the group of girls nearby to giggle non-stop. One girl even hugged Bill and gave him a deep kiss.

"Brother, I have to tell you, it's not about what you said," Sean spread his hands, momentarily at a loss for words.

"Then what does it depend on?" Everyone turned their attention to Sean.

Clearing his throat, Sean stood up. "Alright, I'll repeat exactly what Bill said."

He walked over to the same beautiful woman, picked up the rose Bill had left, and twirled it between his fingers like a pen. Before he could say anything, the beauty's eyes lit up at the sight of Sean.

"It's all because of you, your infinite charm..." Sean began, but before he could finish, the beauty stood up, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him passionately.

Bill and the others were stunned.

"Damn! You couldn't wait for Sean to finish?" Bill cursed, frustrated by the turn of events.

Everyone laughed again. It was clear that the success had nothing to do with the words and everything to do with who was speaking them.

Fortunately, a girl with a hot figure comforted Bill's wounded pride with her ample bosom.

It turns out that picking up girls isn't about the lines you use; it's about what you bring to the table—a handsome face or a stack of bills!

As Sean parted from the beauty, he noticed her flushed cheeks and breathless excitement, suddenly realizing that sometimes, the best hunters disguise themselves as prey.

It was a night of passion.
