Chapter 46 - "Isn't this faster than stealing money?"

Jonas, organize the people today. Each person will contribute $1,500. They should apply for a membership card, but don't send them all at once—150 people per day, in batches. You handle the timing, and ensure that someone is always present to collect the funds." Sean stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his custom-made suit and tie as he prepared for the day.

"Don't worry. I've already spoken with the leaders of the gangs. Each one has sent eight members to help out today."

"Alright, it's almost time for me to leave. Will those guys be able to access the gym in the future?"

"They can have whatever they want."

The opening ceremony was modest, attended by just a few paid reporters snapping photos. Although many people were present, they all had paid deposits during the lead-up to the event.

The arrival of Police Chief Wells and Congressman Johnson Ted caused a stir, especially with Johnson Ted, who beamed at the crowd, eager to present himself as an approachable politician. His brief speech was met with enthusiastic cheers.

In contrast, Chief Wells's arrival elicited little reaction from the crowd, yet it left the gang leaders visibly shaken. While these gangs had some level of cooperation with the police, they were often on the receiving end of intimidation. Sean, on the other hand, had managed to invite the Chief directly to the event, signaling that he was now on equal footing with the law.

Dart and the others exchanged glances, struggling to reconcile the Sean who had once approached them to sell premium drinks just three months prior with the powerful figure he had become, now standing shoulder to shoulder with Newark's elite. The speed of his rise was astonishing—something they could scarcely have imagined.

In a nearby car, Gustavo, dressed impeccably, shook his head in disbelief at the scene unfolding before him. The real power players were converging, and the future appeared limitless. Perhaps this was why he had always been wary of the drug business. His ambitions had always aimed higher.

"He still wants to take our money," the driver muttered, his eyes filled with envy and resentment.

"That's completely different," Gustavo replied. "Even if we face an accident, he won't be implicated, just as we can't sue the car manufacturer for our use of their vehicles to transport goods."

The subordinate clenched his teeth, unsure of how to respond. He took his share without any direct risk, reaping benefits without facing any consequences—how infuriating!

"What's the difference between that and being a damn politician?"

On the top floor of a small building, Sean, Wells, and Johnson Ted enjoyed coffee together.

"Is this the 'pre-sale mode' you mentioned?" Wells asked after sipping his drink.

"Yes, the pre-sale mode. What do you think?" Sean replied, smiling.

"It feels promising," both Wells and Johnson nodded, aware that the concept was gaining traction, though they remained unaware of how many had been arranged by Sean to launder money.

"It's not just good," Sean said proudly. "In one month, we've collected deposits from 1,248 individuals, with 80% of them interested in obtaining a membership card. The pre-sale turnover is projected to be $998,400, not including additional offerings like aerobics, yoga, boxing, and personal training."

"Puhua has estimated that our opening will generate over $1.4 million in revenue!"

"That's incredible!" Wells and Johnson exclaimed, their eyes wide with disbelief. "How is that even possible? This sounds like a money-making machine right from the start!"

"Such rapid profits are unheard of!"

"That's the truth!" Sean declared, his pride evident. "Showing off your abilities is key in the U.S. This sales model is something I've created, and it's just the beginning."

With this success, Sean envisioned expanding into surrounding cities, planning to open five new stores simultaneously. He gestured expansively, "And with this model, I can negotiate with the bank. Customers will only need to pay $300 or less to apply for a one-year membership, with the rest financed through loans."

"I believe sales will soar even higher then!"

"Just $3 a day can lead to a healthier lifestyle, free from drug dependency, providing a platform for social interaction and new opportunities—love, friendship, business. Who knows what could happen?"

"The unknown is always the most enticing!"

"What do you think of my advertisement? It could be shot from several angles!"

Sean leaned back in his chair, one hand resting on the back of it, exuding confidence.

"What a business genius!"

When Sean revealed a potential income of $1.8 million over three days, both Wells and Johnson were left speechless. For the two seasoned politicians, this was an astonishing figure. They recognized the reliability of Sean's future plans, confident that he could handle any minor issues that might arise.

"Then why are you still smuggling alcohol? This business seems strong enough!" Wells blurted out, unable to contain his surprise.

"Hey, Director Wells," Sean replied, his expression turning serious. "Maintaining a good relationship is important, but such accusations can lead to legal trouble. When have I ever engaged in smuggling? I'm a law-abiding, peace-loving businessman."

Wells rolled his eyes. "You're just as shameless as the old-timers around you." Johnson Ted chuckled, clearly enjoying Sean's brashness. It was a reflection of Sean's cleverness and charm, blending a touch of darkness with a demeanor that built trust.

"Politicians don't care about your inner character," Sean remarked, chuckling as he leaned forward, gesturing animatedly on the table. "One leg can never run as fast as two. Time waits for no one. This idea will spread soon enough."

As the conversation progressed, the atmosphere shifted. The synergy among them was palpable, with both Wells and Johnson beginning to see Sean not just as an upstart, but as a formidable player in the game.

Sean continued, "Look, with our partnership, we can reshape the landscape here. We're not just talking about a gym; we're creating a community hub. Imagine a place where people can come together, share experiences, and elevate their lives. The potential is limitless."

Wells nodded, his skepticism fading. "If you can deliver on these projections, we could be looking at something groundbreaking."

"And I intend to," Sean replied, determination etched on his face. "With your support, we can take this to the next level. I'll be the one leading this charge, but I need your backing to ensure it's a smooth ride."

Johnson Ted leaned back, contemplating the possibilities. "You've got a lot of ambition, Sean. If you pull this off, it could change everything—not just for you, but for Newark as a whole."

Sean smiled, sensing their growing confidence in him. "Let's make it happen. Together, we can build something that transforms lives and reshapes the community."

With a shared vision taking shape, the three men began discussing strategies, exploring how to leverage their combined influence to maximize the potential of Sean's venture. The future looked promising, and the atmosphere was charged with possibility.

As they wrapped up their meeting, Sean felt a surge of excitement. This was just the beginning, and he was ready to seize the opportunity. The foundations of something great were being laid, and he was at the helm, steering toward success.
