Chapter 20 - The sea bears witness for me!

The four of them rushed over, shouting, but as they got closer to teach the nosy boy a lesson, their fierce expressions quickly turned to frustration. Their raised hands slowly dropped, and they hesitated to move any further.

Jennifer Lopez, frozen in shock, blinked as she glanced behind the four. She saw Bill and the others, their hands raised, pointing the black muzzles of their guns.

Seeing the weapons, Jennifer quickly covered her mouth in fear and discreetly glanced at the man who was gripping her hand tightly. Was he one of Bill's subordinates?

No wonder I should be scared!

Incredible!

It turned out that when the conflict erupted, Bill and his crew had noticed it.

As the four approached Sean, Bill and his group moved toward them.

"Are you going to hit me?" Sean asked casually.

The four quickly shook their heads, their movements frantic.

"Then what are you all so worked up about?"

Their expressions shifted to confusion, leaving them speechless.

Ignoring them, Sean pulled Jennifer closer, bending slightly to get a better look in the dim bar lighting. He frowned; it was hard to see clearly before, but even in the shadows, she was undeniably pretty.

"Don't be afraid," Sean said with a reassuring smile. "What just happened?"

Jennifer bit her lip nervously. She had been so flustered that she hadn't even registered what the person she bumped into looked like. Now, seeing Sean's smile made her cheeks flush.

"Tell me, and I'll help you vent your anger," Sean grinned, his teeth catching the light from the bar's rotating disco ball.

"That stupid pig was secretly drugging my drink!" Jennifer exclaimed, kicking the man on the ground.

Her foot struck his calf, causing him to twitch in pain. It turned out he hadn't fainted; he'd merely been playing dead when he saw Bill and the others.

Sean's expression hardened. "Sit up."

The man hesitated, then slowly obeyed. But before he could settle, Sean kicked him again, sending him crashing back down.

"Get up!" Sean commanded coldly.

Blood covered the man's face, but he dared not resist. He wiped his face and sat up, only to receive another kick from Sean.

At that moment, onlookers began to gather, drawn by the commotion. Fights were common in bars, and the spectators eagerly cheered, wanting to see more.

Yuri stood on the stairs, waving to the crowd, signaling that they were friends, ensuring no one would intervene.

While bar fights were typical, drawing a gun was another matter entirely.

Jennifer's heart raced at the sight. Young girls often admired powerful, rebellious men.

Though she wasn't very tall, she could be fierce... at least, according to Sean.

Feeling emboldened, Jennifer kicked the man too, her cheeks flushed with excitement. Bill and the others exchanged amused glances; they hadn't expected their boss to act like this!

How entertaining!

After Jennifer had sufficiently vented her anger and the man was left bloodied, Sean wrapped his arm around her waist, leading her out of the bar.

As they reached the entrance, Yuri offered to send a couple of people to protect them, but Sean waved him off, signaling for him to leave.

Once outside, Sean continued to hold Jennifer's hand. She didn't pull away, and he felt a sense of comfort in their connection.

"Why would you go to a place like that alone? It's dangerous," Sean said with a sunny smile. "I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Sean."

Sean didn't mention his last name; he was confident enough in his appearance to rely on that.

"I'm Jennifer—Jennifer Lopez," she replied, blinking her long eyelashes, her young eyes sparkling with charm.

"Jennifer Lopez?" Sean repeated, chewing on the name. It sounded familiar. He scrutinized her face, trying to match it with the images in his mind.

Could this really be Jennifer Lopez? He wasn't a fan, but he wondered if she was from New York and why she'd end up in a bar like this.

Regardless, she was stunning, and the resemblance was striking.

"How old are you?" he blurted out.

"Hey, it's rude to ask a girl her age so casually," Jennifer replied with a playful snort. "But I'm old enough to make my own choices."

Sean felt a bit flustered. "Do you need me to take you home?"

"No, I want a drink."

"Going out for a drink at this hour?"

After a moment's hesitation, Sean relented. "Okay."

Instead of another bar, Sean opted for a convenience store to buy some beers—much more romantic than a noisy pub.

A few minutes later, Sean was on his motorcycle, with Jennifer sitting .Sure! Here's the continuation:

A few minutes later, Sean was on his motorcycle, with Jennifer sitting behind him, holding his waist. Amidst her cheerful shouts, they rode to the beach.

Parking the motorcycle on the side of the road, the two of them strolled to the beach, sat on the sand, and opened their beers, chatting as they enjoyed the sea breeze.

Sean wasn't much of a talker, but Jennifer kept the conversation flowing. She wasn't sure why she felt so comfortable, but she found herself opening up to him. She talked about everything: her home, school, her first time singing on stage, and how the boys admired her while the girls started ostracizing her.

Jennifer Lopez had never felt so at ease discussing the troubles of adolescence, her happiness, dreams, and hopes. She shared everything.

As they talked and laughed, Jennifer unknowingly drank too much and slumped into Sean's arms.

Sean blinked, feeling a bit awkward. This was quite the predicament!

How should he handle this?

"It's really not what it looks like," he thought. "She fell into my arms on her own!"

The sea is my witness!

I, Sean, am innocent!

With no idea where Jennifer lived, Sean had no choice but to take her back to his hotel.

In the hotel, he gently laid Jennifer on the bed. Then he lay down on the couch, giving her space and maintaining his integrity.

As he settled down, he couldn't help but reflect on the night. The events were unexpected, but somehow, he felt a strange sense of fulfillment. He'd met someone intriguing, and though the circumstances were far from ordinary, it felt like a beginning of something interesting.

The sea was indeed his witness. And as the waves crashed gently outside, Sean drifted off to sleep, the night's adventures replaying in his mind.
