Chapter 8 - My vision is my sight!.

The mansion stood grand and imposing, its frontage lit up by a cascade of golden lights, casting a warm glow across the expansive lawns. As guests approached, they were greeted by intricately designed gates, now open wide in welcome. The driveway was lined with lanterns, guiding the way towards the grand entrance where an ornate chandelier hung, casting shimmering light over the polished marble floors.

Inside, the mansion was a symphony of elegance and festivity. The main hall, with its towering ceilings and grand staircase, was decorated with garlands and twinkling fairy lights. Tables draped in fine linens were adorned with lavish floral arrangements and sparkling crystal centerpieces. Each room echoed with soft music, inviting conversation and laughter. A grand piano played softly in one corner, adding a touch of sophistication to the atmosphere.

The dining room was set for a feast, with long tables laden with gourmet dishes and fine wines. The ballroom, spacious and opulent, awaited dancers under the glow of a massive crystal chandelier. Every detail, from the luxurious drapes to the flickering candlelight, exuded an air of opulence and celebration. The mansion, ready for the night's festivities, promised an unforgettable evening of elegance and revelry.

An old looking man with a body of an athlete stood on the center of the stage. "Thank you all for attending this party," raising his glass "Mr Manley i see you, your presence is appreciated " in return Robert's father raised his glass. "Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the young ones to show off their waltzing skills. Remember, if you step on a toe, just pretend it's part of the choreography!" he said as the crowed laughed.

The young ones approached the center of the stage, they started to pair, Robert stood at the center waiting for someone to arrive 'i guess bad luck does not get bored nor takes a day off' he thought to himself.

Just when Robert had resigned himself to an evening alone, she appeared a vision in a stunning blue ballgown. The dress, adorned with delicate beadwork, shimmered softly under the lights as she moved with effortless grace. Her smile was warm and inviting, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Looks like you're the only one here without a dance partner," she teased, her voice light and playful. "Mind if I save you from the despair of standing alone all night?." Her humor broke the ice, and Robert couldn't help but smile back, feeling a wave of relief and excitement. "So, should I thank you now for saving me from the agony of dancing alone, or later, when I've stepped on your toes twice?" Robert asked "no one ever told me that scholars were funny" she replied "then i guess the Tittle-tattle are true about cold assassins having a heart" Robert said.

The girl who had approached Robert was the daughter of the person who set this party. Miranda Colwell. They were doctors but also a group of highly trained assassins, and today was the day when Miranda would be recognized as the rightful heir of the family. The soft music started to play us they dancers swayed in a fluid and elegant motion.

The night sky was a canvas splashed with countless stars, each one a glittering jewel in the vast expanse. The stars twinkled brightly against the deep, inky blackness, their light unfiltered by the glow of city lights. Constellations mapped out ancient stories, their patterns clear and vivid. Robert had escaped all the greetings and rhetorical questions. Clearly they just wanted to be close to his father using him.

Turning back he saw Miranda stood in awe, gazing up at the vast expanse of the night sky. "Oh, how magnificent you are, dark sacred night," she murmured. "You wrap the world in your tranquil embrace, a soothing balm for weary souls. Your darkness is not empty but full of mysteries and dreams waiting to be discovered. The stars you scatter across your canvas are like whispers of ancient tales, guiding us through the silent hours. In your stillness, there is peace, a sanctuary for thought and reflection. You are a haven of quiet beauty, where time seems to slow, and the universe reveals its secrets." Her voice was a soft hymn, a testament to the profound serenity and wonder of the nocturnal world.

Joining Robert, she went ahead and asked "don't you just love the moon and the peace it induces?" Robert looked thoughtful, his gaze following Miranda's to the moonlit sky. "I do, Miranda. The moon and the tranquility it brings have a way of putting things into perspective. It's a reminder that in the vastness of the universe, our troubles are but fleeting moments. There's a certain wisdom in the silence of the night, a calm that allows us to reflect and find clarity. It's something we often overlook, but it's always there, offering peace if we choose to embrace it."

Miranda blurted out Robert "i know it doesn't matter to you but i'll be joining the Knight academy, being with you makes me feel at peace."Robert stood in the silence of the night, thoughts swirling. 'People come and go,' he reminded himself. 'In the grand scheme, they are fleeting shadows. The only thing that matters is my own goals. I must stay focused, unwavering. My vision is my guide, and I will not be swayed by the temporary presence or opinions of others. The path is mine, and I will walk it alone if I must.'

Robert embodies determination and resilience. He has a singular focus on his goals, often viewing them as the ultimate purpose of his life. His journey is a solitary one, marked by an unwavering resolve to grow stronger and bring about change, even if it means facing challenges alone. Robert is pragmatic and sometimes harsh, believing that those who come and go in his life are mere fleeting shadows compared to his ambitions. He doesn't shy away from confronting obstacles or adversaries, ready to crush anyone who stands in his way. Despite the heavy burden of solitude, he remains steadfast, driven by a powerful inner will to achieve his vision.
