Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Meeting

Elysium, Origin Dimension

_______________________________________________________________________________________

The air in the throne room felt heavy. Elys was avoiding my gaze, looking everywhere but at me. Zenith kept glancing between us, clearly sensing the tension. I knew Elys needed time to sort through her feelings before we could have a real conversation about it and I also have to bestow Physical Transformation for her. Just as I was about to bestow her with the physical transformation zenith spoke from behind me.

"Ryan," she said gently, "the third cosmos is about to begin. You need to choose the next sin to unlock."

I thought about it for a moment, feeling the weight of the decision. "I choose the Sin of Sloth," I said, my voice steady.

As soon as I spoke, Zenith's expression softened. Alongside my sin, she unlocked the virtue of diligence, and suddenly, notifications filled my vision.

[You have unlocked the Sin of Sloth.]

[You have gained Entropy Manipulation.]

[You have gained Inertia of Existence.]

[Curse:

Limited Descension]

This turned out way better than I expected. The Sin contracts are especially powerful; they'll let me make deals with anyone in the future, without any strings attached. It's hard to believe there are no limitations on this ability due to my connection with zenith which saves my mind and being a living embodiment of sin.

The special power that came with the Sin of Sloth also took me by surprise. I thought it would mostly involve sleep-based abilities, but it's so much more versatile. These powers open up countless ways to attack and defend indirectly, which gives me a whole new edge.

After collecting my rewards, I shifted my focus back to observing Elysium. But soon, I noticed a serious problem with the Syntari. I decided to solve this issue as soon as possible. And telepathically message Lunaris, to bring the Council in the throne room.

As soon as I sent out the message, they appeared in the throne room, their presence a testament to the progress they had made with their powers. Their eyes locked onto Zenith and me, absorbing the sight of our physical forms with awe and curiosity.

"Founders," they murmured in unison, dropping to one knee. Their loyalty was clear.

I looked at them, feeling both appreciation and the weight of responsibility. These were the Syntari, not just followers but the pillars of a future we were shaping together. I spoke with a tone that held both authority and warmth.

"Your loyalty is seen and deeply valued," I said, my voice carrying a note of seriousness. "Rise and stand proudly. We're at a pivotal moment, and together, we must shape the path forward for the Syntari."

At the heart of the room stood a large round table, with seats arranged around it, waiting for those who would shape the future.

I took my seat at the head of the table, with Zenith and Elys gracefully settling beside me.

"Take your seats," I commanded, gesturing toward the Council. Without hesitation, they moved to their places, with Lunaris stepping forward to assume the lead.

As soon as everyone took their seats, all eyes were on me, even Elys, who had been avoiding direct attention, now looked at me with a serious gaze. Without wasting any time, I began.

"I've gathered you all here for a crucial decision regarding the future of the Syntari." The mention of the Syntari immediately sparked their curiosity.

I continued, "At present, both you and the Syntari are still in the process of mastering your energies and power. But we lack a clear and structured power system."

Zenith and Elys nodded in agreement, and the Council followed suit, acknowledging the truth of my words.

"We need to create a unique power system, one that will cater to the specific needs of the Syntari and allow them to improve systematically." I let my words linger in the air, giving everyone a moment to absorb their weight. They quickly understood how pivotal this meeting would be for the future of the Syntari.
