"From the ancient past to the present day, there was a legend that had survived through countless centuries - a legend of incredible power, sealed away in seven ancient scrolls. These scrolls, each steeped in their own unique energy, lay hidden from the world, waiting for someone to find them…"
At the village of Emberdale...
Ring...ring...ring....
Miro slowly opened his eyes, groggily rubbing the sleep from them. He felt surprisingly refreshed, considering the lack of rest he'd gotten the night before. Sitting up on the lumpy bed, he groaned as his body protested with a chorus of creaks and crackles. As Miro swung his legs out of bed, his bare feet touched the cold stone floor. The morning light streamed through a small window, casting a golden glow on the sparse furnishings of the room..
He took a moment to adjust to his bearings and He was once again greeted with the familiar sight of the thatched roof and wooden walls that had been his home since birth. EmberDale was a small village, nestled in a dense forest and surrounded by rolling hills and verdant meadows.
After a quick wash and dressing, Miro stepped outside into the crisp morning air. The village was just starting to stir, with the sounds of roosters crowing and the occasional voices of early risers floating through the air. As he walked towards the market area, he noticed a large piece of parchment tacked to the wall of the village tavern.
Miro approached the notice, his curiosity piqued. He read the words aloud to himself: "Academy of Arcana now accepting students. Enroll today and unlock your hidden potential!." Miro raised an eyebrow, surprised by the unexpected news. The idea of enrolling in a magical academy piqued his interest. "A school to unlock hidden potential, huh? I never knew such a place existed in Emberdale. Maybe it could be a way to learn some useful skills."
He continued to read the notice, taking in the details. The school seemed to offer training in a variety of magical techniques including elemental spells, enchantment, and perhaps even the art of healing magic. The thought of learning to harness such powers was both exciting and intimidating.
"This might be the perfect opportunity to explore his abilities and possibly make something of himself" he thought.
He looked around, wondering if anyone else in the village was aware of the academy's presence. As Miro looked around, he noticed a young girl skipping down the path towards the market square. She was dressed in a plain but colorful dress, and her golden hair fluttered around her face as she bounced from one place to another. She looked cheerful and full of energy, and there was something about her demeanor that led Miro to believe she knew something about the academy.
Miro watched as the girl drew closer, and he estimated that she was around his age, if not a few months younger. Her energetic movements and cheerful expression were a stark contrast to the serious and somewhat stoic demeanor of most of the adults in the village.
Feeling a pang of curiosity, Miro called out to her. "Hey there!" he said, waving a hand in her direction. "Do you know anything about this 'Academy of Arcana?' Seems like they're opening up a new school or something."
The girl stopped in her tracks and turned towards Miro, a wide grin spreading across her face.
"You mean that new school for magic?" she replied, her voice cheerful and bright. "I just saw the notice a few minutes ago! Can you believe it? Real magic lessons right here in EmberDale!"
Miro looked at her up and down, he was struck by her enthusiasm and cheerfulness. Most people here are just too busy to enroll at this academy just going on with their daily routine. But this girl he met is too eager to enroll at the new school. "Well have you thought about joining the school?" He asked.
The girl nodded, her hair bouncing as she did so. "Oh, absolutely!" she exclaimed. "I can't wait to start. Imagine learning how to control fire, or summon a dragon, or heal people with a touch. The possibilities are endless!" Miro looked at her questioning on how did she even imagine on summoning a dragon. "Uh yeah, your imaginations are wild." He said. "Also uh- I think you are too energetic this morning-" the girl cuts him off before he can finish his sentence "Oh! Yes I am!!! I'm so excited to enroll at this new academy! Like-! This is literally a chance for us to learn magic!!" She said her voice full of enthusiasm.
"Well yeah-.. wait..since we just met I forgot to ask what's your name? Miro asked. "The girl chuckled, realizing she had forgotten to introduce herself in her excitement. "Oh, where are my manners?" she said, extending a hand towards Miro. "I'm Luna. And you are?" Miro took her hand and shook it, feeling a warm, firm grip on his. "I'm Miro," he replied, feeling a little self-conscious about his own dull introduction compared to hers. "So, do you have any idea how to get admitted to this academy?"
Luna's eyes lit up again. "Well," she began, "all I know is that you need to show some proof of magical aptitude. And then they'll probably test you to see what kind of magic you're good at. That's how most academies work, anyway. I can't wait to see what I'm capable of!"
Miro was a bit taken aback by her enthusiasm.
He had never met someone so excited about magic before. Growing up in EmberDale, magic had always been a subject of gossips and rumors, something he had never paid much attention to. But now, hearing Luna talk about it with such passion, he found himself feeling a little envious.
"Huh...I see...so you'll just show them proof of magical appitude..then they'll test where you are good at.." Miro said his voice less enthusiastic than Luna's.
"Oh! Are you going to enroll too? Because if you do I'm gonna be more happy!!" Luna said while giggling softly.
"And what makes you happy about that?" Miro said with a slight hint of surprise in his voice. "Well! We are gonna be friends from now on!" Luna said a wide grin appearing on her face again. Miro looked at her with disbelief, how could she trust a stranger easily Miro was about to question that, but Luna suddenly points at something and her excitement kicking back in again.
"Look!! Look!! They are opening up now!!" Luna points at the crowded area full of cheer filling the atmosphere. "Looks like the academy is there! Let's hurry up and watch it!!" Luna said and she suddenly took off to go to the crowded area. "Wait!" Miro protested, but Luna was already sprinting off towards the crowd. Miro had to race to catch up with her, nearly tripping over his own feet as he went. When he finally caught up to her, he was slightly out of breath. "You know, you could slow down a little," he panted, he looked at her with frustration.
As they pushed their way through the throng of people, they arrived in time to hear the Academy's announcer calling for attention. The crowd's voices quieted as they turned their gaze towards the stage..The announcer, a tall man dressed in fancy robes, stepped up to the podium. "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining us for the opening of the Academy of Arcana," he boomed, his voice filling the air. "We are honored to have you all here as we embark on this incredible journey of magical discovery."
The crowd erupted in cheers, and Luna couldn't help herself from adding her own voice to the cacophony. Miro, on the other hand, remained quiet, his eyes fixed on the announcer with rapt attention. The announcer waited for the applause to die down before he continued. "Now, as some of you may know, the Academy of Arcana is an institution dedicated to the pursuit of advanced magical knowledge and skills," he said, his voice taking on a more serious tone. "To be admitted to our school, students must demonstrate not only an aptitude for magic, but also a strong desire to learn and a willingness to work hard."
The crowd cheered loudly as the announcer ceremoniously cut a ribbon tied to the entrance of the academy, symbolizing its official opening. The noise was deafening, with excited voices and whistles filling the air.As the commotion died down, the announcer gestured to a few young children standing nearby, who were carrying stacks of papers. "I will now ask our helpful young helpers to distribute these pamphlets to all of you. These pamphlets will contain detailed information on the enrollment process and requirements for the Academy of Arcana."
The children began making their way through the crowd, handing out the pamphlets to each person. Here you go ms and Mr! This academy of really fun I hope you guys will enroll have a great day!! The Kid said softly and went on to give the other pamphlets. Luna eagerly grabbed it and scanning its contents with wide eyes. Miro took one as well, studying the information on the page.
The pamphlets were filled with detailed explanations of the academy's curriculum, class schedules, and admission requirements. Miro's eyes widened as he read the list of classes, which included subjects like Elemental Manipulation, Enchantment, Illusion, Healing technique and etc.The pamphlets also included a section on the academy's facilities, which included a large library, multiple classrooms, a practice arena, and a dormitory for students to stay in overnight. The academy seemed to be well-equipped to handle the needs of its students, and the thought of attending such a place was both exciting and intimidating for Miro.
As the sun began to set, the energy of the crowd started to wind down. People began to disperse, either heading home or to the local taverns to celebrate the opening of the Academy of Arcana.
Miro and Luna were caught up in the buzz, their minds filled with thoughts of enrolling in the school. "Uhm...see you tomorrow I guess. It's nice to meet you again Luna.." Miro said tiredly. "Okay Miro!! I'll see you tomorrow again! Nice to meet you too!" Luna said giggling and feeling excited for tomorrow.
