Chapter 31 - Spending Some Money

Essim and Aisha stood before the scrolling screen displaying the list of items available for exchange.

[Contribution Points Exchange]

Silver Badge: 30,000 points

Tetan Sword: 17,000 points

Mountain Armor: 13,000 points

Damage Talisman: 2,000 points

Purple Stone: 100 points

Folew Flower: 100 points

Reu Defense Tower: 19,000 points

...

The exchange list was extensive, boasting thousands of items.

"It seems nearly impossible to earn enough for a badge just from patrol missions," Essim remarked, contemplating the challenge of accumulating 30,000 contribution points.

"Come on, let's explore the city first," Aisha urged, her enthusiasm evident.

"Alright, let's go," Essim replied, agreeing to her suggestion.

They exited the war office, brainstorming their next destination.

"Hehehe... How could I overlook a place brimming with items like this?" Essim thought to himself, excitement coursing through him.

They found themselves at the largest treasure pavilion in the city of Heaven's News: Tou Pavilion. Towering majestically at the center of the city, the pavilion boasted ten floors, with a steady stream of patrons entering and exiting.

Most of the visitors were tier-1 and tier-2 beings, though the occasional tier-3 individual strutted through with an air of superiority. Despite being at the Golden Core stage, these cultivators enjoyed a comfortable life in the city.

The pavilion was frequented not only by cultivators but also by Faithwardens, Players, and Star Beasts, all seeking to purchase equipment. Occasionally, a person in human form would emit a powerful dragon aura, hinting at a significant background in the cultivation world.

As Essim and Aisha stepped onto the first floor, they were greeted by a plethora of glass displays showcasing an impressive array of luxurious weapons hanging on the walls.

"Brother, have you seen that massive bull head?" Aisha exclaimed, pointing at a bull helmet mounted prominently.

(Hell Bull Helmet)

Level: 25

Attribute: RES +120, STR +76

(Breath of Courage): Increases stamina by 25% and boosts RES attribute by 25% for 1 minute.

"Yeah... it's a special piece of equipment for Tier-2 rulers," Essim noted as he approached one of the displays.

Beside the helmet, an assortment of weapons caught his eye, each with unique shapes and attributes.

(Murder Staff)

Level: 35

Attribute: INT +371, AGI +296

(Breath of Courage): Releases a massive energy explosion in a 25-meter radius, dealing an additional 200% of total INT damage.

"Welcome to Tou Pavilion! How may I assist you?" a male attendant greeted them politely.

"I'd like to see the most expensive items in this pavilion," Essim requested directly.

The attendant's expression shifted slightly; he perceived Essim as arrogant and decided to ignore him. After all, how could someone who hadn't even reached Tier-2 dare to make such a bold request?

Noticing the attendant's silence, Essim felt puzzled.

"Brother... they're not part of the system. They don't even know us," Aisha whispered, sensing the tension.

"Sorry... sorry... I was just joking," Essim said sincerely, then pulled out a bag filled with 10,000,000 energy crystals.

The attendant frowned and inspected the bag's contents. A wide smile quickly replaced his previous skepticism.

"I apologize, sir. I didn't recognize you earlier," he said, hastily apologizing as he rushed to the back to fetch something.

"Please, have a look, sir," the attendant said, returning with a small bag brimming with items.

[Small Bag]

Intercontinental Ship: 14,000,000 energy crystals

Advanced Lightning Tower: 8,000,000 energy crystals

Fu King's Sword +10: 2,500,000 energy crystals...

Essim was intrigued by all the items except the Fu King's Sword. Without hesitation, he decided to buy everything, feeling there was a distinct difference between system items and cultivator items.

"What's the total?" Essim asked casually.

Upon hearing his words, the attendant nearly fainted. Did he just catch a big fish? Even with a mere 1% commission, he would rake in a substantial profit.

"Uh, sorry, sir, but I can't handle such a large transaction. I need to call Elder Wan," the attendant stammered, heading to the back to fetch someone.

Before long, an old man in a white robe appeared.

[Status]

Name: Wan Lu

Race: Cui Race

Power Core: Cultivator

Level: ???

"Demon!!!! Someone above a master?" Essim and Aisha silently shouted in their minds, their hearts racing in alarm.

"Young friends, I apologize for the wait," Elder Wan said, his demeanor friendly and devoid of any oppressive pressure.

"Hahaha... It's no problem, Elder Wan," Essim managed a nervous laugh.

"No need to worry. I'm just here for routine checks," Elder Wan replied, his keen gaze scanning Essim's entire being.

Essim felt completely exposed under Elder Wan's examination, as if he were being scrutinized without any defenses.

"Good, you may proceed with the transaction at Tou Pavilion," Elder Wan declared, putting Essim at ease. He had been more concerned about his talent being discovered than the existence of the system.

"Then, I'll leave it to you, Elder Wan," Essim said, handing over a bag containing 67,000,000 energy crystals. In exchange, Elder Wan presented him with a bag containing seven items.

"Hahaha, young master Essim is very straightforward," Elder Wan chuckled, having verified that the contents matched the agreed-upon value.

"May I ask if young master Essim is interested in another deal?" Elder Wan added.

Essim hadn't expected this additional offer. Though cautious, he nodded in agreement.

"Well... What do you have in mind, young friend?" Elder Wan asked, retrieving a round object inscribed with strange writing and featuring a portal image within.

[Multi-Space Portal]

Forms a dimensional path between spaces. Maximum distance: 10 spaces (1 space = 1,000 trillion km).

Essim's eyes widened in astonishment at the sight of the item.

"1 trillion km?" he thought. Ten spaces meant roughly 10 trillion kilometers. Wasn't that nearly the same as the diameter of the Milky Way galaxy? What kind of being could create a device with such an expansive teleportation range?

"What do you think?" Elder Wan inquired, noting Essim's growing interest.

"How many energy crystals would be needed to exchange for it, Elder Wan?" Essim asked, his curiosity piqued.

A small smile appeared on Elder Wan's face.

"This portal cannot be exchanged for energy crystals. It requires 5 Blessing Potions."

Elder Wan continued to smile warmly, patiently awaiting Essim's response.

In stark contrast to Elder Wan's calm demeanor, Essim's heart raced, and Aisha felt the same tension rising within her.
