Chereads / Marrying The Elf Queen In The Apocalypse / Chapter 17 - Against Giant Monkey

Chapter 17 - Against Giant Monkey

The ground trembled under the Giant Monkey's weight as it ran towards Arthur. It's huge figure destroying everything in it's wake. Just like last time.

However, Arthur didn't run away this time and chose to face it head on. Of course, he wasn't about to fight the big guy, as it was just too powerful for him.

He just needed to create an opening so that Noah could land a blow and kill it.

"Ah! I really missed it!"

Arthur grinned and summoned the Abyssal Destroyer. It would take a few seconds for it to materialize in the world and it was just enough for Arthur to cover the distance between him and the Giant Monkey.

Just before the long blade of Abyssal Destroyer materialized in existence, Arthur and the giant abomination met.

Raising it's hand, the Giant Moment roared and brought it down on the puny ant who dared to run away from it. However, the ant was even more slippery than the snake vermins it had met.

With a swift slide under the Giant Monkey, Arthur evaded the monstrous hands. By then, the dark sword also appeared in his hand.

Using the opportunity he had, Arthur slice the legs of Giant Monkey. Unfortunately, he was too weak and even after putting his whole strength in the attack, he only managed to put a minor scratch on the thick hide of Giant Monkey.

But it was enough.

Before Arthur could attack once more, the Giant Monkey jumped forward and used it's tail to attack Arthur. The tail came at sonic speed like a whip, producing air piercing sound.

"Tsk! If that hit, my whole face would be damaged!"

Arthur used his strange footwork and agility to evade the tail, and cursed, looking at the destruction it caused. The ground was caved where the tail struck, showing the power of Giant Monkey.

Fighting someone so high from your level would always result in situation like this. In fact, if it was any other newly Awakened, they might have already perished under the monkey's body.

After coming to a stop, Arthur once again coated his feets with his Essence and ran towards the monkey. Keeping a distance from a such a foe was idiocy, so he was trying to stay as close as possible.

There was another thing he needed to do too.

"AGHHHHHHHHH!!"

The Giant Monkey roared on top of it's lungs, irritated that the ant was still alive. It brought up both of it's arms and brought them down, shattering the very ground it was standing on.

Already expecting it from the Giant Monkey's actions, Arthur sidestepped and made some distance to get away from the destruction.

After the dust dust calmed, he once again shot at the Giant Monkey, knowing well that if even a single attack of it connected, he would be dead.

However, he didn't care as he trusted Noah that much.

On the other hand, Noah, who was looking at everything, sitting behind a broken boulder, was stunned. He rubbed his eyes if he was seeing things but, it was all real.

'Damn! He really is surviving that.'

Noah couldn't believe what he was seeing. He was sure that Arthur was Level 1, as it was easier to tell by his presence. So, how was he alive at this point?

At first, Noah had considered Arthur to be joking and maybe even throwing his life away for the revenge. But it seemed he was wrong.

Arthur...he was a monster.

Not daring to blink, Noah watched the spectacular battle in front of him. The Giant Monkey didn't have any particular ability or style of fighting. It just used it's raw strength to overpower everything.

Each of its attacks made that ground tremble, and loud explosive sounds. But even with all of this, the abomination failed to land a single hit on Arthur.

Noah had no clue how Arthur was doing this but it was if he had eyes everywhere and could detect every fine detail of the surroundings. Because, he always moved just in time to get away from the punches Giant Monkey threw.

It was a bizzare scene with a small human running around a Giant Monkey, trying to fight it or maybe fighting for his survival.

Not only was he evading all the blows from Monkey, he even delivered many of his own attack. Granted not a single one of them managed to put a single would on the Giant Monkey, it was still admirable that he could do it.

"That's why he asked me."

Now, Noah understood the reason Arthur asked his help. He really wasn't lying when he said that he would handle everything and Noah just needed to deliver the final blow.

Arthur could fight a losing battle with the Giant Monkey but could never kil it while being so weak. So, he was using Noah's strength to kill the Giant Monkey.

Gripping the dagger tightly in his hand, Noah murmured.

"Focus! I need to find any weaknesses. At this rate that bitch would exhaust himself and die. Damn it!"

Even after observing so much, Noah could not find a single weakness in the Giant Monkey. It seemed like a impenetrable fortress on it's own.

But he also knew that Arthur couldn't keep up like this. He would sooner or later exhaust his Essence and then he would be a dead meat.

Level 1 Sentinels already had low Essence to begin with so Noah was extremely worried.

But the longer the time passed, the weird his expression became. It was because although Arthur looked tired and exhausted, he was still fighting the Giant Monkey.

'Does he have infinite essence or what?'

On the other hand, after rolling on the ground for a moment and then immediately jumping back to avoid the abomination from killing him, Arthur finally decided to make some distance between them.

His breathing was laboured and he could feel his Essence running dry. However, there was a wide smile on his face.

"Finally! Got you!"
