Chapter 7 - Turn 5 to 6

Nephis didn't speak and allowed Arthur some time to sort things out. She knew he was strong, even if he didn't show it, and he must have become even stronger. That's why she simply sat there, providing him with her silent company.

It took only a minute for Arthur to regain his composure. He looked at the clock and said, "Ah! No time to get depressed. It's almost time."

"Time for what?" Nephis asked, a little confused.

"My awakening, duh!" Arthur replied. "In about two hours, my awakening will begin, and I need to finish this talk quickly."

"You seem to be in a hurry; is it because of that other woman?" Nephis pouted and pinched Arthur.

"Yeah, it's about her. If I lose her now, I'll lose her forever. This is one of my regrets, and I don't want to repeat it," Arthur smiled and replied.

"Hmm, now I'm kinda interested in her. Which girl actually made the legendary playboy into a marriageable candidate?" Nephis hummed and asked, genuinely curious.

"Oh! She is the future elf queen and currently the elf princess," Arthur said, recalling that Elara was still only a princess but would soon become the queen.

"What?" Nephis screamed in astonishment. She couldn't believe it. She had thought the person Arthur was talking about would be from Earth. But he actually went for the elf princess, the one who would rule all of Elferia. Was he insane?

Arthur enjoyed Nephis's shocked expression, as it was hard to get, and that's why he had told her about Elara. He also wanted to share more about her anyway.

Nephis calmed down and asked, "Please explain!"

"Well, I'll tell you briefly since we don't have much time. Basically, I love her, and obviously, it's because of my past life. She had actually accompanied me until the end, and we died together. So, you can understand why I want to marry her. Now, the second part is the most important," Arthur explained before sighing.

"You see, there is this prophecy of the elves in which a chosen one will make them prosper again. That chosen one will be married to Elara, the Elf Queen, to bind him to the throne. I wasn't the chosen one previously, but I will be this time. So, yeah, basically, I need to prove that I'm the chosen one, and they'll let me marry her—or rather, force me to," Arthur continued.

"In my past life, technically, Elara and I loved each other, but due to the vows and everything with the chosen one, we couldn't have a relationship. I don't want to repeat that, so I'll marry her first. And I don't have much time left—only one week before I go to Elferia."

Nephis sighed, understanding where he was coming from. She didn't even want to imagine what kind of things he must have experienced during the Third Cataclysm, and it was natural that he would fall in love with someone who had stood by his side until the end.

It almost seemed like she was trying to break that holy bond. But she also didn't care about it. It was a conflicting feeling; she wanted Arthur to be with only her, but also didn't want him to abandon someone like Elara.

'I guess it's my fault for falling for a playboy. Just how many women has this man seduced?' Nephis was actually coming to terms with sharing Arthur, even though it left a sour feeling in her heart. However, she also didn't want him to simply expand his so-called harem.

"So, aside from me and this Elf Queen, who else have you seduced?" Nephis asked with a kind smile on her face.

"Eh?" Arthur was a little surprised, as he had expected everything but this. He scratched his cheeks and mumbled, looking away, "Probably... five. Ouch!!"

Arthur rubbed his thigh where Nephis had pinched him and looked at her. Nephis sighed and said, "It's less than I thought."

"What? Do you think I had nothing to do aside from seducing women? Believe me, Neph, I stopped my playboy ways long ago. These women, like you, are my life; they have supported me through hell. I would rather die than abandon them," Arthur said, narrowing his eyes.

Nephis looked at him with a strange expression and thought, 'That's what I like about you, idiot!'

"Alright, five it is. Remember, you won't be seducing anyone else. Only five, and that's it. Okay?" Nephis spoke after some time.

Arthur was dumbfounded, and then a big smile broke out on his face as he hugged Nephis. "I knew my Neph would understand me. You're the best."

"You leave me no choice, Bozo. Also, turn that five into six, and I'll turn your two balls into six," Nephis said, clutching Arthur's family jewels through his pants.

Arthur began sweating and nodded hurriedly, as he was afraid she wouldn't believe him and do something that shouldn't be done. "My dear Neph, I don't have a problem if you want to play with them, but ouch!"

Nephis smirked and withdrew her hand. Although she didn't show it, she was very happy to finally be with Arthur, even though she would have to share him with others.

"The world is already dying. What's the point of this drama?" Nephis sighed and asked, "So you're going to spend some time in Elferia?"

She didn't ask for details on how he was going to become the chosen one or anything else because they didn't have much time left. She trusted him and believed he would do the right things.

"Yes, it shouldn't take more than a month. I'll be back after that," Arthur nodded. "Though I'll also be busy this week since I need to make sure I'm the chosen one. And for that, I'll need your help. Can you lend me one of your weapons? I would prefer a sword."

Nephis nodded and raised her hand, causing a longsword, completely black in color, to materialize out of thin air in her hands. She looked at it for a second and then handed it to Arthur.

"It's a Tier 1 sword, and I've also relinquished my ownership. So once you're Awakened, you can take it. I have more, but they'll just be a burden for you," Nephis explained.
